Went for family meal tonight, the food is amazing couldn’t fault it at all. Lovely hidden paradise, cant wait to come back.

We came to the Bambu on a school night with friend's (21 Dec), We found the staff very friendly and very attentive, the food was excellent, will be making another visit to this restaurant again soon.

The food is amazing & Mai & her staff are so welcoming & friendly & nothing is too much trouble!

Super friendly place to eat . Wonderful cuisine . Parking a nuisance though. We had grilled lamb and pork belly with catfish. As mains . Superb . I might add we will definitely be returning and quick to become a new favourite dining place !

Probably the best restaurant in Colchester, great service, great environment, tasty food and lovely customer service. I go there often.

Our first visit today - so pleased we came. Food was fantastic - I recommend the lemon grass chicken and staff were both helpful and friendly. We will be back!

My friend's birthday made extra special by the lovely staff singing happy birthday and serving the amazing mango cheesecake with a little birthday candle. Thank you Bambu team!

Just had dinner here for my brothers birthday with the family. I honestly cannot find fault. The staff were friendly and attentive! The drinks were lovely (especially the Sauvignon Blanc on the wine list) and the food is just delicious. So fresh and tasty. Have been a few times now and I will be back for more, no doubt. Also the manageress was so present and accommodating the whole evening which is always very creditable for a restaurant! Thank you Bambu

First visit to Bambu for a family birthday meal where the table age ranged from 8-60. The manageress came over to the table explained the menu to us and was extremely helpful and really helped some of the fussier eaters at the table. The staff were very attentive and knew exactly when you needed something, the meal was fantastic we all really enjoyed our meal . I look forward to going back in the summer and sitting on the decking on the quayside.

First time I'd ever had Vietnamese food and I can't wait to go back! Every dish we had was delicious and so full of flavour! The service was also brilliant and everything was good value for money. You won't be disappointed!

Favourite restaurant! The food is sublime, as well as the service. My partner and I have recently moved away from the area, however we couldn’t resist driving into Colchester just for a meal at Bambu. We hadn’t booked, and we were greeted just as warmly if we had - weren’t rushed at all, even though the restaurant was busy.



The vegetarian spring rolls are amazing! My partner always has the chicken pho, and I always stick with the seafood Cari Mi - both packed with flavour, and a large portion. Best part is the price - it’s affordable, and not a rip off!



The lovely lady (owner) gave us two courtesy after dinner shots as a ‘Happy New Year’ gesture, which was great! Thank you!



We would definitely always drive into Colchester on the way down to see my family in Norfolk - this restaurant is so worth it, and we miss it tremendously!

Can't believe I haven't been before. Lovely setting, delicious food and very friendly staff. Will be back very soon.
