Our 3rd EMOM workout is out this week. For only 12 minutes this is a great addition to any routine (4 times per exercise) EMOM is the acronym for Every Minute On the Minute. EMOM workouts normally range from 5 to 30 minutes and include one or multiple exercises. For example: On the first minute you do 6 Burpees then take a break. On the second minute you, do 8 Lunges, and so on. One thing to note here is that the rest is very important. If it takes you a whole 60 seconds to do a certain amount of reps, you need to lessen your reps. Or you need to lessen the load. Check out our Instagram page for a quick demonstration: https://crowd.in/AfpTIh

Alex Murphy Social Experiment Progress Update
Catching up with Alex this week, his progress has been amazing.
Alex is currently running a sociological experiment, by taking himself from 90 kg with only 8% body fat, to 115 kg at 25% body fat over a 6 month period. To then start a return to his start weight and fat % to experience from a clients perspective.
... The progress he has made really shows; but the hard work and obstacles he has come up against are helping to provide a real insight into the difficulties some of us face losing weight.
Below are 2 of his Journey entries.
8/9 Week Review! With xmas, boxing day and New Year's Eve my calorie intake was only roughly gauged with intuitive eating. I wanted to relax slightly and relate to the average person monitoring their nutritional intake over the holiday periods; hence '8/9 week review'. - Currently lost just over 9kg body weight (115kg to 105.9). - Body fat percentage has decreased by approx. 4%. - Resting heart rate has decreased by approx. 20bpm. - I no longer notice heart palpitations before sleep (blood pressure is currently: 127/58). -Digestive system has calmed right down. -Lethargy is decreasing gradually.
I've never struggled with my fitness before but I'm finding its been a huge issue. I certainly endorse conditioning regularly (even if only weight training) as my body feels healthier and more able, I can recover faster between sets of resistance training and generally get a greater rush of endorphins post workout, as I wasn't able to with resistance alone during the height of this process due to lack of fitness.
16 weeks 16 weeks in and weighing in at 98kg, equating to a current loss of 17kg. Im sitting at 18% body fat but target is to get somewhere within the 8-10% range that I was before I began.
It's that time of year sickness floats about meaning I only actually managed to train for approx. 4 of the last 8 weeks (frustrated doesn't even cover it) so excess muscle loss has certainly occurred.
On the up side, my conditioning has certainly helped by lowering my resting heart rate by almost 35bpm and allowing me to recover faster between sets of resistance training. Therefore I have an improved work capacity so can amplify calorie expenditure and improve volume - essential for maintaining muscle mass on a cut.

I went on Monday with a friend we had a lovely day using the spa then we had treatment loved the water beds and the relaxation rooms all the staff were very friendly will be going back with my daughters

User

Had lovely spa day here for my birthday. Treatments were good, had in dual room which was bonus. Lunch was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. Relaxation rooms great, pool, steam room and sauna also very nice. Grounds beautiful. Only one minor thing I would say is need more loungers around the pool as other seats not that comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

Worst spa experience I’ve ever had. My mum and I were bought a virgin experience for 2 x 30 minute treatments and afternoon tea. Turned up to an unwelcoming atmosphere from reception and was told that there were no lockers available so we’ll have to leave all our belongings behind reception. We went for our treatments which were meant to be 2 x 30 minutes and we had both our treatments in 25 minutes. The ladies were rude and even started laughing during the treatments, an inside joke we were not in on. I had a massage where the therapist clearly didn’t know what she was doing, everytime she tried to rub my back she put her full weight on my head and neck pushing it into the hole in the bed and gave me the worst headache and also a mark for the rest of the day. She got bored towards the end and just started patting my leg like I was a dog. We then proceeded to our afternoon tea but due to allergies I could not have most of the food which I was not asked about until it was too late. I would never recommend this to anyone and it was a complete waste of a day off work feeling uncomfortable throughout the day.

Worst experience today for my birthday ! My husband booked me up a “surprise spa day package” with prosecco lunch.. well what a load of disappointment was this. We arrived late. I’m 8months pregnant. He pre rang to explain this and we were told it’s fine and we will accommodate and make me feel comfortable. We arrived late. Apologised but it was out of our control. We were ushered upstairs. Not even allowed to change into robes or towels we planned to hire ! The spa

Ladies upstairs luckily managed to get us some because “no one wants to see me walking about robeless” probably the most humiliating thing Iv ever been told at this stage of pregnancy... I wasn’t given any massage just a awful head rub that hurt and left me with a headache. And a facial that’s left my skin burning and so sore to touch ! To add the bed was wet !!! Yuck...

I then realised after having my treatment my robe was filthy dirty but at this point receptionist made clear they didn’t want to help us so I had to sit in a damp dirty robe we had the pleasure of paying for ! We then decided let’s have lunch .. well that was gross. My coronation panini was cold and made me sick. And the water available was hot ! The prosecco I got made to feel awful for drinking because I’m pregnant but let’s be honest a thimble of prosecco we got wasn’t going to hurt

We ended up leaving after 2 shitty hours. Me in tears for a rubbish birthday. Resulting in no relaxation, a detox via sick and feeling dirty from oily wet bed and dirty cooty dressing gown.

I DO NOT recommend this place for anyone pregnant or otherwise ! They do not make you feel nice and comfortable! I have left so humiliated and so upset after so desperately needing a pamper !
