Had a brilliant charity night with the extra guest charity organisation on the 20/11/2018. The charity was held for education and the improvement of basic living standards for kids in Gambia. Huge thanks to Moyra Irving who organized it and the kotu drummers and all the customers supporting this great cause.

We will be closed for charity night on the 20th of November 2018. But we will be available for takeaway as usual. Sorry for any inconvenience caused. Thank you.

To all our customers just to let you know when you book online this is how it works:
You book online you will get an immediate auto reply from our website which means your table is provisionally booked At this time your table is not confirmed.
Then when we receive the email of your reservation we see if we can accommodate you and reply back to you. That means your table is confirmed when you receive the second email.
... Sometimes for some reason (could be technical glitches) we don’t receive the emails that some customers sends. if you don’t here anything from us within a day you should ring the restaurant and check have we received your booking.
We won’t be held accountable if we don’t receive your email and we don’t have a table for you on arrival.
So to avoid disappointment please contact us if you don’t get a reply to your emails within a day.

Never had a bad experience with the food or service here. Takeaway or eat in. We went on Christmas day this year and the food was incredible.

My husband and I along with two friends went to Basmati for the first time last night following some great reviews I'd seen on Google, the reviewers weren't wrong , it was absolutely fabulous. Beautiful interior, comfortable,stylish, and extremely clean. The staff are great , friendly, amusing but respectful to diners. Then there's the food itself, so delicious, absolutely fantastic, and very reasonably priced. I honestly cannot fault this restaurant in any way Highly recommended!

Lovely meal here with friends. All freshly prepared and cooked. Friendly efficient staff. 4 course banquet menu is good value. I had Salmon Tikka from main menu. 2 large salmon steaks, very tasty. We will return and recommend.

I found this restaurant via google suggestion. Iam a fan of the Indian cuisine. I was seated straight away. Service was excellent and always attended to my needs. The food was heated up in front of me which I really enjoyed it gave it a personal touch. Really liked that.



The taste was unreal good I have really enjoyed my stay and the food. It is highly recommended to try out.

Fantastic place to eat. Staff friendly and food is lovely. Been several time in large group, as a couple and with friends. Never had a bad night. Highly recommend.

Fantastic food, you can't get better than that! Only down side was there was a table of 7 by us that was rather noisy and they were made worse by the staff. I don't have a problem with people enjoying themselves and being a bit loud, but I think they should have been told to lower the volume a little. Myself and my husband could not hear what one another were saying.

Celebrating my daughter's 18th birthday the staff are lovely. Ali the manager made us feel comfortable and Moshi and saaed are looking after my party they are very hospitable. We had so much fun and defo will come back thank you basmati staff �

Been told by a friend to visit when in the area. Food good quality, very friendly staff, restaurant superbly clean - good value for money indeed. It was a Monday night and extremely quiet and can see why it is so busy at weekends. Definitely recommend it and make your own judgement. Thank you Basmati - keep up the great food and service

Went again last night.had the banquet menu.good food.great value for money.the service was a bit slow though and we had to check the bill as they charged us full menu price NOT the banquet deal.i hope it is just a blip. Will definitely go there again though...

Good food at a reasonable price! We had the 4 course for £9.95. The presentation was good and the staff were pleasant . I felt a bit rushed to leave at the end of the night though. It would've been nice to have a night cap. We left at 10.30pm as the bill arrived promptly.

Very nice food, food service OK but not great (rushed and not personalised), very busy so popular, but they keep forgetting the drinks order and had to be chassed 4 times.

I came to the basmati for my 30th birthday party on 11/3/17 food was great really enjoyed it, as for the seating for 35 people I would of liked to of sat with my party not in lines of tables I know it can be done it was done for my mums 60th, taking orders for drinks to way to long to come to us, also when paying for the bill was a nightmare

Really disappointed. The majority of the waiting staff were impatient and rude which I could have lived with based on how busy the restaurant was, however, when my husband requested his butter chicken to have no coriander, something worse happened. We were lied to. The manager came out to explain that they had left the usual sprinkle of coriander off all 4 dishes because of the kitchen “quarantine rules” and that he could bring a bowl to the table for the diners who would like it on their meal. Don’t be fooled into thinking that this is attentive and thoughtful customer service. There was coriander leaf throughout his curry. When the waiter came to clear our table, I asked him to confirm what the green leaf was in the sauce. He informed us that it was coriander! We politely reminded him that we requested no coriander and he fetched the manager. The manager then told us that the waiter was mistaken, it was fennel seeds!!!!! I later questioned this explanation so he brought us a small bowl of green dried leaves and described them as fennel seeds. He also said they are otherwise known as Ganga!!!!!!!!!! Please don’t lie to your customers. If you’ve made a mistake, own it and deal with the complaint professionally. There was no point in arguing further as they clearly don’t give a damn about customer satisfaction. This review probably won’t stay visible for long!
