It all begun with 'Christmas stockings' filled with flower seeds from a very early age and emptying the contents between rows of cabbages and lettuces.
As years went by the ever expanding explosion of colours bought a lot of interest to the 'very boring' rows of green veggies!
Nasturtiums were the best, they ran and seeded everywhere, almost impossible to eradicate!

Agricultural college put me in line to work outside as this was a place I was at my happiest.
But the moo cows and tractor driving wasn't enough with the 'arty' mind and forever getting my hands 'filthy'.
Tried the horses, loved them to bits and ended up with one for a while but still it wasn't enough.

Commercial horticulture was one of the best jobs (I didn't know at the time) was the 'root' and founding of my career.
Started out as a general nursery worker, tried a year in 'glass' with micro-propagation and had fabulous experience but missed working outside.

A promotion to a plant supervisor gave me a great boost working alongside managers, sales people, going to meetings and overall working with a variety of amazing people and taking charge of production teams.

Never been a 'people leader' naturally and with sideways direction of another job expansion - my role included 'writing articles' (heavily edited) of pesticide trials and one particular that won me an award - 'Phytophora' in Rhododendrons.

Researching and collecting data and using it at the time, helped develop the nursery expand in some areas. 10 years I stayed with this nursery and moved on as they were bought out by another company.

With the basics of managerial work behind me and interacting with people - I set up my own business and only wish that I had done it sooner.

I am one woman band and would love to expand my business and have held myself back for too long and now I am putting myself out into the big scary world. . . . . . .
