Unique, fascinating, inspiring, Belsize Square is an independent synagogue - neither orthodox nor reform - occupying its own place in British Jewry. Traditional yet modern, our story is still unfolding after 75 remarkable years. To get a flavour of who we are, join us for a service or event at our beautiful synagogue in Belsize Park. We welcome people of all affiliations and pride ourselves on Jewish engagement, music and cultural activities.
Our community of over 1, 250 members provides for a rich Jewish life including:
Regular traditional services in our lovely sanctuary
Cheder and Youth activities
Adult education and cultural events
Social and community care.
During the week our synagogue hosts services for both ends of the age spectrum - Keren nursery and the Association of Jewish Refugees' day centre, which is also open to our senior members.

Music at Belsize is delighted to invite you to a night at the Opera.
We have a wonderful cast of some of London’s finest young opera singers accompanied by an orchestra of professional musicians in Mozart’s comic masterpiece, Cosi Fan Tutte. This is a production that was first performed at the Waterperry Festival last summer and we are thrilled that the cast and musicians have accepted an invitation to put on one last performance at Belsize Square.
The opera will be sung in ...English and performed in the intimacy of our own sanctuary. Whether you are a regular opera goer or are looking to enjoy your first live opera this will be a magical evening.
Due to the number of performers, seats are more limited than usual. We therefore suggest you make your reservations as soon as possible on the website or by contacting the Synagogue office.

A collection of photos from the fantastic activities put on for Mitzvah Day. The youth of our community entertained the elderly with a concert and brunch while we collected clothes and food for charities like Gift, Camden Food Bank and the Separated Child Foundation.

The latest concert from Music at Belsize: Romantic Vienna & The Jews.
On this weekend of remembrance we are recalling the music of Vienna with Jewish connections. Works by Mahler, Strauss, Sulzer and Schubert will be performed by the Wallace Ensemble, Ben Wolf and Cantor Heller. Always a wonderful occasion to bring a full orchestra to Belsize Square and hear great music in such an intimate setting.
