Opening tomorrow, our next temporary exhibition - Battle of Britain Lace Panel: Then and Now, featuring artwork by Dr Carol Quarini. Carol will be talking about the exhibition for our first Friday Morning Talk of 2019, on 25th January.

On this Remembrance Day, 11.11.18, we're taking the opportunity to share with you the stories of 11 Battle of Britain aircrew who are featured in our Rotunda gallery, and who lost their lives during World War II.

We're extremely grateful to the Tonic Choir and children from Kenmore Park Junior School for today's two wonderful Remembrance Concerts. Thank you also to all who came to support this commemorative concert, it was great to see a full house for both concerts.

The 31 October 1940 marked the end of the Battle of Britain as the last daylight raid by the Luftwaffe took place.
2,937 British and Allied aircrew took part in the Battle of Britain; all now commemorated on the Battle of Britain Monument in London.
During the Battle, 544 of these aircrew lost their lives. A further 795 died before the end of World War II.

Whether you're winding down for the half-term break next week or pushing through until the end of the month, we have family activities available over both weeks.
Come along and make poppies to take home or be displayed here at our Remembrance Concert on 10th November. Supported by The Arts Society Harrow.
We have also been supplied with Royal British Legion Poppy kits so you can make your own to wear.
... Please Note: These activities will run over two weeks to accommodate different half-term dates locally.
Activities are included in admission to the Museum and are available on our open days between Saturday 20th October - Saturday 3rd November 2018, 11am - 3pm.

This week's Friday Morning Talk: ‘Flight Safety in the RAF’ Sqn Ldr Rick Lipscomb will talk about how the RAF has improved its air safety record over a number of years. Having been in the RAF 34 years, Rick has plenty of highlights of delivering flight safety both at home and at RAF Units overseas. Rick has a degree in Engineering Management, is a Chartered Engineer and Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society. Visited with friends yesterday. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit. So interesting. Lovely building, restaurant and gardens. Very pleasant and helpful people. Cannot believe that I have not visited before!

Lovely building. Museum only occupied a small part but is very well done. The Dowding film is excellent. Sharon's talk on filtering is outstanding. Organise a group and get a tour. Allow two hours minimum.

I went to a talk at the Museum today and just loved it! What an amazing hidden gem on the Stanmore / Bushey boarder.

Beautiful grounds, pleanty of parking, gorgeous cafe and a wonderfully rich history... a must for anyone who loves Architecture, History, Horticulture, Museums, Heritage, and knows how important BP was during the Battle of Britain, or wants to know!!
