I've been using a regular cloth dinner napkin on the go but I found it a bit bulky. So I came up with an idea to use Japanese Tenugui towels (a very thin cotton fabric) to create small reusable cotton napkins to fit our cutlery bags. Simply I cut the fabric into 5 pieces along the folding lines with the pinking scissors. They can be used to wrap cutlery after use to keep the bag clean. Generally bamboo straws tend to be much wider than the conventional plastic/paper straws. Wider ones are thicker and more durable but who doesn’t love these skinny bamboo straws? Hello Spring! It’ll be a Hanami (a picnic with the view of cherry blossoms) season soon in Japan. Maybe it’ll be warm enough for us to do Hanami in London this weekend!?

After a little over a month since I first tried, I can finally say that my switch to a shampoo soap bar is SUCCESS! I used to use a soap based shampoo years ago but I guess my hair didn’t remember that and did not like the change at all. Even when I travelled to US I stuck with the routine (well water was softer there and it was kind of easier) and I am so proud that I resisted the temptation of going back to my old shampoo bottle. I’ve tried a few kinds of shampoo bars during the first month but a basic olive oil based soap and a citric acid & water spray was what my hair liked most. I wouldn’t say it was an easy switch but if you want to try, please be PATIENT till your hair gets used to it!!!
