What a delight to watch Mission Impossible at Britainā€™s biggest 3D Screen. Best Cinema experience, best cinematography, best stunts, best music and best actor (Tom Cruise). What else can I say. Iā€™m a regular visitor to BFI IMAX, it just multiplies the quality of the film.

User

Totally worth it! Make sure you take the seats as further up as possible. The screen is GIGANTIC and the audio (Sur)real!! Five Super Stars!

Lovely evening with my Girlfriend and our little one , to come up and see star wars last Jedi, after a horrible 3 month after losing my beautiful daughter on the 08/09/17 to epilepsy , I've not wanted to be out much , or be around others , but to come up to London which is not on our doorstep with my beautiful girls , and relax into something we always love doing , spending time together was lovely . And I plan to do more when the next big movie comes out , black panther , the Imax is an experience which I think every one should at least experience once , we would love to see black panther or avatar . In an Imax theatre, it would be amazing.

And the lady singing at the start was something we've never seen before :-)

Takes guts to get up in front of so many people like that , well done that lady X

Just got back from watching Star Wars, and I have to say the service at BFI IMAX was fantastic. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the building was clean and tidy, and the film experience was spot on. There was an incident whilst we were there involving a young lady serving at the front ticket desk and a rude idiot kicking up a complaint. Despite him acting like a complete child and getting out his phone to film the young lady, claiming he was being robbed by them, she remained incredibly professional. I hope she is okay, as she seemed very shaken by his unacceptable behaviour, and I would like to say that she didn't deserve to be treated in such a horrible manner for something she hadn't done (nor should anyone). It just goes to show that even great customer service can't please a self-entitled moron like that. You have an excellent team, a great building, the tampon machine in the downstairs bathroom doesn't work, but hey. Five stars all around!!

User

Infinity War was an absolute dream to watch on this super screen, picture quality was crystal clear and the cinemas audio is second to none. Excellent hospitality from the staff with a little intro from a gentleman at the start of the film which was hilarious. I would say there is barley any leg room though and you may want to book in advance to get seats up the back as the first 5 rows are a little too close for comfort. You fo have fo walk up stairs to leave the cinema at the end so if you donā€™t like stairs this may not be for you! Above all worth BFI is worth your time and money!

User

I love this place!

Went to see The Last Jedi last night and the SAME staff spoke before the film and made us all do the wave -ha! She was as fun as last year and it kinda felt like a tradition (please manager get her that cheeky Nandos!)

3D was amazing as always!

By the way, don't listen to the picky ones about the seating, it's pretty comfy, and if you dont want your neck to hurt just book the back seats innit- like any other freaking cinema.

Great experience, not too expensive. Totally worth it!

User

I love coming here. The whole experience is brilliant. The first time I came here was to see Fast & Furious 8. It was a present from my son. I loved it. Couldnā€™t wait to go back. My first 3D was the second instalment of Guardians of the Galaxy & we were sat in row C. I wasnā€™t sure if I could cope with being so close to the screen. It was a bit close but I managed šŸ˜€. The staff are friendly & polite. Looking forward to going again

I have been nagged by Facebook to write a review, as apparently, it's still web 2.0. Maybe I have already written one. Maybe Facebook is just an antique annoying load of crap. So should I select a rating based on Facebook, rather than the great BFI Imax cinema in Waterloo? Yes.

User

I absolutely love coming to this place, not only because the screen is insane. The place as a whole, for me, actually has a real old school independent vibe about it. The staff seem to really enjoy being there, which then makes you feel good about being there. Love the mic announcements before the films and being able to experience films like the new Star Wars in 3D in that kind of screen room is a mindblowing experience.

User

Everything about this place is incredible.

The staff are full of happiness and enthusiasm to be here and to provide a great service.

There's a Costa Coffee downstairs as well as some surprisingly affordable regular cinema refreshments upstairs.

Seats are comfy and spacious enough that you'll feel perfectly comfortable throughout.

Best of all, the giant screen and glorious audio will blow your mind!

We saw Black Panther here and I couldn't imagine a better movie watching experience.

I definitely want to return. Some films just have to be seen at the BFI!

User

By far the best place to watch a film - especially ones with visual effects etc as it's so immersive, sound is amazing too! Staff are polite and being welcome before the start of the film is a nice touch. Only downside would be the over the top prices for food and snacks. I realise this the norm but with the extra you pay for the ticket, you'd think they'd be more reasonable. Overall though a five star!

User

Best way to watch movies in a biggest screen jus watched Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom best movie its a must watch in a life time on a big screen

User

As always, a great time had. Film was good, but made better by the venue, who's friendly staff only add to the enjoyment.

User

Amazing Cinema with a huge screen. As a first time visitor I had some trouble finding the entrance (It's in the tunnel between Waterloo Station and Waterloo Bridge)

The experience was awesome, and I will definately come again.

User

We choose to see Jurassic World at the BFI IMAX and it was excellent! Only reason Iā€™m giving this experience 4 Stars is due to sitting in row C, however lesson learned wonā€™t be doing that again, next visit we will be sure to choose our seats more wisely!

User

I love the experience of the BFI IMAX cinema & sound. We were fortunate to sit in the middle seats for 3D. Major problem if sitting in the side seats. At Ā£22 a seat... people were unhappy at screen distortion.

User

Fantastic screen and brilliant sound.

Watched ā€˜Ready player oneā€™ yesterday.

The prices are only a couple of quid more than our local Odeon at Surrey Quays, so definitively worthwhile.

The only downsides are the uncomfortable seats and lack of legroom.

If they can sort that out, it would be a 5 star experience.

User

Excellent experience - been twice in the last 6 months and Just a fantastic cinematic experience with my 15 year old son. The only thing that let this visit down this time was a slight ā€œcanā€™t be botheredā€ attitude of one of the staff who served us our drinks and popcorn. This wonā€™t put us off going again. Love this screen. If you havenā€™t been go! And donā€™t miss Black Panther on this huge screen.

User

We watched Star Wars on Saturday evening as a family. We were in Row C. When we first got there and sat down we all said, ā€œOh sh*#t, how are we supposed to watch the film?!ā€ The screen was so big and we were so uncomfortably close to it. I felt like I needed to lean back but couldnā€™t. By midpoint I was so uncomfortable I kept turning left and right in my seat but then I couldnā€™t see so well out of the 3D glasses. At one point I thought, if the film doesnā€™t end soon I will have to get up and leave because I was getting such a bad head and neck ache. I was so glad when it was over because I was in so much pain by then. It is now early Tuesday morning (5:33am) and I am up again for the third night in a row unable to sleep due to an ongoing head and neck ache and have gotten up to take an ibuprofen. I think I will need to go see an osteopath or chiropractor to fix whatever has gone askew in my neck while sitting and watching Star Wars the Last Jedi in a very uncomfortable seat. Something needs to be redesigned at BFI - either the seating or the distance of the screen to the seats. I could not enjoy the film due to my uncomfort.
