Billy'S Wish Description

Billy Dove was cruelly and needlessly murdered in Hemel Hempstead on 6th November 2011.

At 21 years old, and with his whole life ahead of him, he bravely tried to break up a fight when he and his friends were set upon by a gang.

Billy's Dad, Paul Dove, Paul's fiancée Tanya and his sister Sally decided that no other family should have to suffer in the way that they have been tortured every day since Billy's death. They set up Billy's Wish and have worked tirelessly ever since, to raise awareness about the dangers of knife crime. The charity's 4th Trustee is Jan Maddern, a family friend, former County Councillor and long time campaigner in Hemel Hempstead.

The Billy's Wish Anti Knife Crime Education Programme was launched in the autumn of 2013 and will be taught in schools across Hertfordshire, offering our young people advice and alternatives to crime.

Once this is fully up and running, attention will be turned to other positive ideas that the Trustees have to help improve the quality of life for our children.

In addition, Billy's Wish is working with local youth groups, to promote positive activity as an alternative to gang culture. Our children and young adults deserve the best advice, support and knowledge. They all have the potential to achieve and it is our intention that they receive support to enable them to reach their full potential.
