Owls don’t have eyeballs, they are like eye tubes. They’re elongated and held in place by “sclerotic rings,” a bony structure in the skull. Because of this, owls can’t really move or roll their eyes, hence their mobility in their necks #InternationalOwlDay http://bit.ly/2NU1YPM

User

We visited today with my 3 and a half year old son, 12 year old niece and my mum. We all loved it. Excellent value for money, lots of very well cared for birds and other animals, a dinosaur trail with somewhere the children can become 'archaeologists', a lovely cafe, a play park that has enough benches for easy observation and the whole park was clean and tidy. We will be back. Thank you to all the staff. X

User

We recently visited Birdland after visiting Bourton On The Water the day before. Never seen penguins up close before and was so excited to see them and not being disappointed. They were amazing to see and so very impressed how close you could get. Highly reccomend to visit so you can see feeding time at either 11am or 2.30pm like we did

Fun for all ages.

User

We had a really lovely visit today. My son is obsessed with penguins and I love flamingoes so we were both very happy, especially as we managed to catch penguin feeding time and a talk about the flamingoes. We found the park and gardens to be a very good size for him and he really enjoyed getting the opportunity to hold an owl and touch a tortoise (although he wouldn't go near the snake!).

We'll definitely visit again.

User

Visited yesterday for my friends birthday. Had loads of fun and found the keepers very passionate. Loved being so close to the penguins, great characters and not phased at all.

User

Visited yesterday for my daughters 2nd birthday, despite the very cold weather we had a fantastic day especially seeing the penguins and the dinosaur trail was fantastic, I really couldn't fault it!!

The staff where all friendly and really helpful. The only slight downfall was how expensive the cafe was. But saying that due to the weather we asked if we could give the children their packed lunch inside as its too cold for them to sit around outside and they said it was absolutely fine which was very kind of them and made the day much easier!

Overall I can't wait to visit again, we where in a big group and it suited everyone's needs. I could easily push my pram round everywhere, the toilets where in a good condition and the little play area was lovely including the undercover sandpit area!

User

Visited yesterday (31/05/18) as part of a holiday in The Cotswolds. We were hugely impressed to say the least! The quality of the park and the variety of birds and animals was excellent for the actual size of the area. Keepers and Staff were courteous, efficient and above all knowledgeable. Keep up the important work. A brilliant day out and would recommend to anyone to make the effort to go and visit! Thank You :-)

User

Visited with grandchildren yesterday. Lovely place, well set out with plenty of things for little ones, and the slightly larger ones, to look at.

A little expensive for entry but we all enjoyed it.

User

Visited Birdland today with my family we had an amazing time the staff are so friendly and the birds enclosures are clean and well kept my 16 month old grandsons loved the penguins and dinosaur adventure will definitely visit again would recommend Birdland if you want a good value day out

User

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Would highly recommend for any age group. Watched feeding the Penguins, Pelicans and Flamingoes. The keeper who was a young lad was very knowledgable and entertaining. We went in the morning and came out with a stamp on hand so could go back later for feeding. We also booked on line which was very easy.

User

Myself and my son had a great day yesterday at Birdland. The Penguins were amazing to watch and feeding time was great fun. The staff were lovely and the member of staff giving talks on the Penguins and Pelicans was very informative and funny. An all round fab day

User

My cousin Jane and I visited yesterday solely to visit Carson the penguin who Jane adopted 4 years ago in memory of her late brother Tezfish (Terry Wilde). The keepers and staff were very helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating. It was in fact our first visit but by no means will it be our last! The animals are all well looked after and the gardens beautiful. The penguins were a delight to watch and a pleasure to see them feed. Can't wait to visit again!

User

I love penguins so we just caught the end of feeding time and then spent about 40 Minutes just watching them swim and waddle around. 😂

But the rest of the park is also brilliant and the Jurassic Jungle is fun too!

Hopefully gonna return for one of your special experiences!

Well worth a trip if you’re thinking about going. 😊

User

Affordable entry prices great selection of birds great for photography all the birds look really well looked after. The highlight for me and my partner were the penguins the guy feeding them was very knowledgeable and came across very professionally.well worth a visit.

User

27 May 2018 on a sunny day the park looked wonderful. A great place for children and adults to explore plenty of activities indoor if it rains and indoor picnic area.

Grandchildren loved the dinosaur trail hunting for them in the woodland trail was great fun.

Enjoyed seeing all the birds especially the penguins and flamingos.

A great family day out and good value for money.

User

We had a lovely day - thank you. It would be good if there were some water fountains for kids to top up their drinks (it was very hot at the weekend). Although the cafe team kindly refilled our bottles, it was a bit of a faff for them as it was so busy (and they had to use a wrench to turn the tap on ).

User

Visited on 3 May with our daughter and grandson (nearly 2). The sun was out (hooray) and we were really impressed. Lovely gardens to walk around and you could get really close to the penguins. There were other birds such as flamingoes, cranes, herons, emus and lots of smaller birds. Plenty of picnicking space (better than Bristol Zoo), but also a cafe. The Jurassic World woodland walk was a bonus for all dinosaur-loving children. Ideal for babies, toddlers and young children.

User

Top tip - take your own food! Cafe is expensive for what you get - panini with 'salad' (small handful of lettuce, 1 dry slice of cucumber, 1 thin slice of tomato) & crisps for £6.95! Also child's meal (homemade chicken nuggets & chips) delivered after adults & very hot so unable to eat for some time.

The rest of the park was good & I would've rated it higher if we hadn't used the cafe.

You can get a hand stamp to leave & re-enter the park that day which is a great idea, especially where food's concerned.

Really liked the penguin area with platforms to be able to see into their enclosure & windows into their pool.

Lots of space & all water areas safely fenced off so my 2 year old could wander a bit ahead without me worrying too much.

Toilets were clean & 2x baby changing facilities which was fine on a quiet day like today but I imagine it's not so great in peak season.

We'd visit again but with a picnic, or leave the park for meal time.

User

Took my 4 year old for his bday yesterday as he really wanted to see the Dinosaur trail which he loved, especially the fossil hunting. Friendly staff at front desk, maps dotted around the park which were useful if like me you forget to pick one up! Toilets (which are even more important when with small children) were in good condition, clean and not as cold as i thought they would be. As weather wasn't great, we practically had place to ourselves which was great but was disappointed that the cafe wasn't open despite sign being out and nothing mentioned on website about winter closures but could clearly see it was dark and chairs on table! Would go again but when a bit warmer or will come prepared with more food just in case. Would be useful to update the website, social media this is standard or staff should mention upon arrival if this was just a one off as people can then be prepared to get food elsewhere and not have hungry whingey kids.

User

Park itself is lovely. Kids had a lovely time. Shame staff member on the front desk who served us on the way in and out was not helpful at all and seemed uninterested in providing any customer service. When paying their high prices to get in I would expect better service.
