Black Eyewear Description
As a life long jazz fan, Robert Roope’s frame designs resonate with the eyewear worn by many of the Jazz musicians of the 50s. The brand ‘Black Eyewear’ was created. To date, Black Eyewear consists of more than 50 designs of glasses and sunglasses, each design reflects modern style inspired by the spirit of the 50s.

Third pair of frames from this fabulous supplier. I have varifoculs...(sp?).. My eyesight deteriorates after a couple of years... However, all frames I have purchased have been excellent for my optician to fit lenses to. (I don't live near London). I had a problem ordering latest pair online - but spoke to a really helpful, friendly and professional man and placed order on the telephone. Thank you again, Black Eyewear, for offering stylish, unusual and great quality frames at a very reasonable price xx

-Product selection: I'm very particular about eyewear. I own 50+ pairs of glasses in a variety of colors & styles, yet none compare to my favorite vintage cat eyes that I broke 5+ yrs ago. Since then, I've spent endless hours searching for an identical pair with precise lens/frame measurements, color & transparency as those damn cats. You can imagine my delight when I stumbled upon the huge collection of bold frames from Black Eyewear... it's like Zenni Optical in terms of selection quantity, but rather than cheap & generic styles, Black Eyewear offers unique frames of far superior quality & like 20 color options per product. It's like I died & went to eyewear heaven.
-Service: I live in the US & was a bit hesitant to order non-refundable RX glasses without being able to try them on. I must have exchanged about 10 emails with customer support before I felt comfortable enough to order. Most notably was Grace who went out of her way to provide precise & additional frame measurements to help me find the perfect pair. She went the extra mile by taking side x side pics of multiple frames to compare differences in height & how natural sunlight affects color vibrancy & opaqueness. I know, super picky, right? I must have been a nightmare to deal with, but Grace & the team provided superb customer service which makes all the difference when ordering abroad.
- Shipping: I received my frames within 7 business days (much faster than I expected since I live in NYC). Grace was also very helpful in providing a custom invoice, itemizing the lenses and frames so there would be no issues with reimbursement from my insurance company.
- Overall experience: I don't often take time to write reviews like this, but I can honestly say this has been the best experience I've ever had with vision services, and these stylish Abbey frames are everything I could have hoped for & more!
