This is Ciccio. He was in with us yesterday because he needed quite an extensive dental performed. After examination by Alan he needed 7 teeth removed! After his dental was finished , he then had a de-matt and nail clip. He was soon up and about and ready to go home.

Great news!!

Beautiful Delilah was in with us today to have her anal glands flushed under general anesthetic. Safe to say she’s feeling a lot more comfortable!

This is the adorable George that has been staying at the practice for a week and is now well enough to go home. George came in on Monday evening as an emergency appointment due to having an urethral obstruction (colloquially known as a "blocked bladder"). This condition can become fatal after a few days and needs to be treated as soon as possible. Any delay in treatment can cause acute kidney failure. The red liquid pictured is urine that was removed from the bladder upon adm...it. As you can see from the photos he is a lot happier today and we're sure he is thrilled to be going home.
If your cat is struggling to urinate please contact the practice immediately.

Life threatening illnesses/accidents can occur at any age and we would always recommend insuring your pet. You can speak to our staff about insurance types available and we have a 0% finance option available. (0% finance requires advanced notice in most circumstances due to the checks required).

As soon as Amber said "it's quiet today" we had a phone call from Winnie's owner to say she'd cut her foot whilst out on a dog walk. Thankfully after a good clean & a few stitches under sedation Winnie was soon able to go home, sporting her lovely red bandage ☺️

This is the gorgeous Marcie. She came in for laparoscopic (keyhole) neutering today. Laparoscopic neutering is less invasive so the patients are usually back to normal almost immediately post surgery. As you can see Marcie was very bright post op and was happy after going for a walk in the garden. Laparoscopic neutering is performed by our vet Alan who is assisted by both our registered veterinary nurses. Lizzy (RVN) has a lot of experience of scrubbing in to assist with the surgery and Rebekah (RVN) monitors the anaesthetic using top range equipment, as well as her own skills, to ensure the patient is safe and breathing well throughout. Our newest vet Andrew is pictured observing the procedure. Our whole team love to work together on laparoscopic procedures as the patients seem to be happier and less painful with a faster recovery.

If you're going to feed the birds this summer make sure you don't feed them bread. Try a healthier alternative like bird seed or one of the food items listed below 🐦🕊️🦆

Hello everyone. We are trying to raise £4000 to send one of our teams to Thailand to provide veterinary care to homeless and neglected dogs. We are teaming up with Care for Dogs to provide veterinary treatment to their rescue dogs as well as helping to fund medical supplies. Care for Dogs help save and treat homeless/ neglected dogs and operate a rescue centre. We will be putting a collection pot in our reception soon. If you are able to make a donation to the cause we also have a Just Giving link. Dane, one of the managers of DNA Vetcare Ltd, has already done a sponsored swim to help raise money for this cause.

We would recommend having your doggy spayed by keyhole surgery for a very speedy recovery with minimal disruption to everyday life. Flora bounced back to normal (literally) the next day and has been great, with no problems whatsoever...thank you Alan and team for doing a great job..!

Visited yesterday with our Labrador, Tess. She's a reluctant visitor, not realising she has such a wonderful vet. Really great care, thorough explanation and never feel rushed. Thank you!!

User

Took care of our dog Bowie for a spaying operation. She came out bouncing happy. You can tell by the dogs reaction the treatment was top notch. Thanks so much X

The most friendly, professional and caring vets I have used. Staff are very knowledgeable and great with our pets. They also are really empathetic when our gorgeous pets come to their end. Thank you to all the staff

Our two dogs and two cats are both clients here and the service is wonderful, the people are fantastic. Would throughly recommend to anyone who wants a great vet for their pets.

Our cat, Ted, received wonderful care throughout his time in and out of Blackheath Vets with his kidney problems. We received honest, well explained and clear advice about his condition - both in person and on the telephone - and felt that Ted was in great hands at every stage.

The treatment we all had today was compassionate and caring - both for Ted and his two worried owners. We couldn't have asked for more under the circumstances.

Thank you all.

I took my cat here for her regular check ups. They were always lovely and helpful. They were also there when my beautiful cat was poorly. They investigated as much as was fair, always thinking about her welfare. I was devastated when they couldn't save her, but she was about 12 years old, and had a good life with me. Thank you Blackheath vets. I never thanked you because I was too upset at the time.

User

Great vet! Very knowledgeable and friendly staff.

User

Great team, knowledgeable vets. We used to live near and we were lucky to have them. We moved further and after trying our local vets we went back to Blackheath Vets. It’s worth the trip!
