At BMI Mount Alvernia Hospital our staff have been working hard caring for patients along with being involved in charitable causes. A huge well done to Francoise Connor who has raised a grand total of £2216 for Macmillan Cancer Support, as part of the Go Sober for October fundraiser.
With the donation lines now closed, the Go Sober website shows that the 2018 grand total raised by 68,317 participants is a staggering £4,311,378. Francoise has not only raised a great sum but also reached number 23 in the Go Sober 2018 leader board of top 100 'single' fundraisers on a national level! We are incredibly proud of Francoise’s achievement!

At BMI Mount Alvernia Hospital we are now offering Mummy MOT with our experienced Physiotherapists. Mummy MOT is a post-natal health screen for new mums or those in their post natal period.
Our Mummy MOT will assess how your posture, pelvic floor muscles and stomach muscles are recovering after birth and could help to prevent prolapse, urinary incontinence or diastasis.

We recently welcomed Chris Robshaw, English Rugby Union and Harlequins Player, to BMI Mount Alvernia Hospital. Chris has been using our Physiotherapy Services’ Alter G Treadmill as part of his recovery from injury and we are delighted that we have been able to support Chris and Harlequins Rugby with this.
Our Alter G Treadmill, an anti-gravity treadmill designed by NASA, allows patients to recover mobility, improve physical function and enhance performance without experiencing pain. On Thursday 28th March at 6:30pm we will be holding a FREE Breast Health Education Evening with experts at BMI Mount Alvernia Hospital. With breast cancer being the most common type of cancer in the UK there is a critical need for there to be greater understanding of breast health.
This free patient information evening with one of our highly experienced Consultant Oncoplastic Breast and Melanoma Surgeons, Mr Farrokh Pakzad, will involve a presentation and advice about breast ...cancer and other associated breast problems.
If you have burning questions such as the ones below, then this event is for you.
- What to look out for- How do I check my breasts? - Am I at high risk of getting breast cancer and how can I reduce that risk? - What does breast screening involve? - Why are my breasts painful from time to time?
