Did you know that St Botolphs has watched 710 May Fairs since it was built in 1309? Join us at the Gallopers for a short service & the proclamation of the opening of the Fair at 11:45am this morning. We look forward to seeing you there!

Fabulous Fabulous Fabulous - well done to Caz and Adam - we are here to serve the community in whatever way we can - and we are pleased and proud that both their actions and bravery have been recognised.

User

We are particularly in need of toiletries and tinned fish for our Foodbank clients - it would be wonderful if you can help by bringing donations to the Stump or to St Christopher’s on Foodbank days 12-2pm Tues/Thursdays (except voting days!)

You can be part of St Botolph's history through sponsoring a stone! For £90.00 you can dedicate a stone in memory of a loved one or mark a special occasion.
You will receive an adoption pack with a certificate of authenticity & a layout showing you where your stone is. Once the project is completed we will also put all of the names and messages in a special book so that for generations to come people will know who or what the stones are dedicated to.
To find out more please contact adam.kelk@parishofboston.co.uk, call (01205) 310929 or contact the Church Office in St Botolph's.

Many thanks to all the generous people who donated reusable drink flasks for the homeless. They are now being circulated, and the homeless community here will be given an allowance of tea, coffee, hot soups and sugar/milk sachets to help them through their day. We also have a big thank you to Caffe Nero, Seventh Heaven, Curtis and Greggs who have agreed to give free hot water to the homeless who come in with these flasks. If you have any donations of tea, coffee etc. to help us provide this for our community, please bring them to the Rectory offices or the Stump. Thank you again, what a wonderful parish we have!

User

We have had a very busy day today at St Botolph’s - ‘Easter Fun at the Stump!’ was held this morning, with lots of children getting involved with the Easter crafts & activities. Our Sanctuary Guild have been busy with the Easter Flowers & we are working with the Lincolnshire Daffodil Society again this year with their beautiful daffodils on display around our font.
We hope you can join us tomorrow for our Easter Day Services: 8am - BCP Said Eucharist 10.30am - Choral Euchari...st
Everybody in the Parish of Boston wishes you a very Happy & Holy Easter.
Please remember we close at midday tomorrow, reopening at 8:15am on Monday morning.

Today we have had the second of our Hard Hat Tours, with members of the public being able to climb up the outside of our iconic tower to view the restoration works taking place. They were also shown the progress of the interior of the church with the new flooring to the north and south aisles of the church. Thank you to our Site Manager, Stuart, from Stone Edge for providing the guided tours.

Following the amazing success of our children's book, 'Bo the Boston Church Mouse', we are now looking for a company to produce some quality Bo soft toys for children. If you are someone who could help us or know someone who can, please contact the Church Office via admin@parishofboston.co.uk or call (01205) 310929.

On our way to National Lottery Heritage Fund for our quarterly meeting - have you seen the scaffolding has now reached the top? We have a great team working on the project to ensure we keep on track!

An exciting day for Boston Stump!

User

Join us at St Botolph’s, today at 6pm, where we will be joined by the Bishop of Grantham as we pray for the current political situation and pray for the unity of all people of our country

User

Without doubt the focal point of Boston. You need to visit and climb all the steps to each level( if they're open). The views are fantastic and on a clear day you can see a lot of South Lincs. Within the stump take time to read all the available inscriptions, this place is a quite magnificent place and well worth a visit

User

Went there about a month ago, Love the place even up the tower what a fantastic view once you get up there well worth the 209 steps and a fiver, Also the coffee shop and gift shop is very nice and very friendly staff as well will go there again

User

We love the stump such a beautiful church and also child friendly nice to pop in when in town and sit and relax for a few mins peace. We also had our 3 children christened here yesterday and it was a lovely service rev'd Steve holt was fantastic :)

User

Visited yesterday to climb the tower with someone that's never been to Boston before. We spent some time with the amazing volunteer on the Lego project who explained things in great detail, made use of the toilets, then went for the tower. The ladies in the shop were friendly and helpful, it was reassuring to know we were checked in and that they could monitor that we were safe. The unhindered views of course were fantastic, the information boards really helpful, and when we returned to the shop the ladies there engaged with us, showing genuine interest in us and our visit- and all with a great sense of humour. We could not have hoped for better... Thank you!

User

Visited 19 July, great experience especially the view from the top of the Stump. Had an excellent lunch in the cafe. An unexpected surprise was the church organ show given by the outgoing organist. The staff in the cafe and gift shop were helpful and efficient.

User

Spent some time in this beautiful peaceful place last week. We had a few days staying at the windmill up the road. Very friendly church. Lovely tea and and the screen monitoring the peregrine on her eggs was an added bonus !

User

Magical, full of history, you must get all the stories about the place. The Christmas Carol services are pretty cool too. PS, the vicar loves chocolate!!!

User

User

It is an amazing place! Not only is it an iconic, historical, beautiful building in the Lincolnshire landscape it also holds lots of personal memories for me. I was christened, went to Brownies, Sunday school and got married there. I was even a pupil at the St Botolphs primary school. I now live abroad but my family and I always have to visit when we come home. Well worth a visit for locals and tourists alike. It will always have a special place in my heart x

User

It is a lovely church with a fantastic history - I am not from Lincolnshire moved to the Boston area 17 years ago and love the memorial trees and lights. This year my family sponsored 3 memorial lamps to hang outside the Stump as my younger died in an RTA in April so it was very personal for us this year.

The refreshments are lovely and all are very friendly. Good prices. Lots to do and love the Lego structure a fab idea for the children - go in to see how it is going.

Noone is TOO GOOD to stay out of the church and noone is TOO BAD not to go in.

It is sad that some visitors are being made to feel uncomfortable when visiting but keep going to visit as it is important that you do not let them think they can stop you.

For the record tattooes are an expression of the person and some of us dont judge a person on their appearance but how they act towards others. Be yourself and have your special moment and I hope that as the church is special to lots of us pilgrims keep going.

User

I would just like to say all my experiences of Boston Stump have been good. They certainly have a passion for people. They have a beautiful building which needs to be taken care of but my observations are that first and foremost they care for people.God Bless you all.

User

I salute you guys. Opening your doors and welcoming the homeless, and their dogs in this dreadful weather. The only place in Boston that will allow dogs in with the homeless. So proud to be a Bostonian yesterday and see proper community support in action. Please let me know when you run out of dog food, and I will bring some more.

User

I love visiting the Stump when I am in town. It is beautiful inside and out, everybody is so friendly and the cheese scones are the best in town.

User

Great little market town plenty of parking, good shopping, market seems better on a Wednesday than a Saturday lots of cafe's but can not fined any dog friendly ones although plenty of out door seating but not good if you do not smoke for obviouse reasons

User

Beautiful. Kids go free on the climb so with one adult only cost £5 then sponsored 2 bricks for the Lego big build (£1 per brick). My son was over the moon with his certificate for his bricks and badge for climbing the stump. Café has great prices and well stocked gift shop. Suitable for ALL ages

User

A total inspiration, Saint Botolph's is the crowning centrepiece of historic Boston, as well as the town's spiritual centre. If the jaw dropping external view of England's largest parish church isn't enough, the internal views of the beautiful stained glass, immaculate ambulatory, and numerous other fascinating hidden treasures make The Stump worth a trip to Boston all by itself.

User

A lovely and interesting building. There was alternative thing going on today, woodcarving, Lego project, shop and of course the tower climb -well worth the fiver to church funds though definitely not for the unfit.
