Bracknell Town Council Description

Bracknell Town Council is the largest Parish within the Unitary Authority of Bracknell Forest.

It provides services to over half the population of the Borough located within 12 wards making up the central area of the Borough.

To the south lie the parishes of Sandhurst and Crowthorne, to the east is Winkfield parish and to the north are the parishes of Binfield and Warfield.

Information about the Town Council and its activities, Councillors, meetings and services may be found on this website. The website is regularly updated to give pricing information for room hire, tennis, mini-golf etc. as well as Pavilion opening times and football pitch closure information etc.

Special events, news and openings are also advertised on the website, and you can follow us on Twitter.

Additionally, the Town Council produces a Town Guide , copies of which may be picked up at any of the Council's coffee shops or at Brooke house. The Town Guide may also be available at libraries, doctors' surgeries and local information points etc. A pdf version of the Town Guide may be downloaded. Ad hoc newsletters are also produced as required.

The foyer of Brooke House in the High Street is a valuable source of information and provides an opportunity for local organisations to display posters and leaflets about their activities. If you would like to display information about your organisation or event please contact us or bring the information in to Brooke House. The Town Council reserves the right to agree which information and /or brochures may be displayed, the Town Clerk's decision on this matter is final.

Bracknell Town Council provide more than 30 recreational areas across the town, where young and old can find opportunities for play, sports, walking, fishing and other leisure activities.

More information about our parks, play areas and recreation areas can be found under 'Recreation' on the menu bar above.

For those with green fingers, the Council maintains 235 allotments spread across 8 sites, although there is a waiting list for those wishing to take up an allotment.

We are also responsible for Larges Lane Cemetery which is maintained as a 'living cemetery', with attention given to encouraging biodiversity. The cemetery has won several awards under the "Living Churchyards and Cemeteries Scheme".

There are also areas of woodland managed by the Town Council or jointly with Bracknell Forest Council

In mid-July seven 6th formers from Kennel Lane School helped the Bracknell Town Environment Wardens with a project in association with joint initiative between BTC and Braybrooke Community Nature and Fishing Club.
The students helped to construct the outdoor learning area during the course of a week. It will form part of the nature trail at Braybrooke recreation ground in the hope that local schools and community groups will make use of it.
Massive thanks to the following students that made this project possible: Jake Harrod; Jay Beeton; Motso Mazibuku; Laura Rose Jones; Jacob Bird; Harry Powell and Ethan Harris.

Here is some clarification on the prohibition of dogs at Great Hollands pavilion.
Dogs are not allowed in the play area or splash pad. Anything with rubber safety flooring is a no go for our furry friends, however well behaved dogs on leads are most welcome on the patio area outside the cafe. Please clean up after your dogs if there is an accident. Please also note that the whole area is a non-smoking zone.

On Tuesday 9th July the new Great Hollands pavilion was formally opened by Bracknell Town Mayor, Cllr Isabel Mattick. Cllr Mattick and Bracknell Town Councillors were joined by special guests including Bracknell Forest Borough Mayor, Sandhurst Town Mayor and representatives from Ridge and Francis Construction among other welcomed VIPs. With a fantastic turnout of local residents, children enjoyed free ice lollies, circus skills, rides and the new splash pad. The new coffee ma...chine was tried and tested as hot drinks were also given out for free.
Cllr Chris Turrell, leader of Bracknell Town Council said “I am really pleased to see our stunning new pavilion open. It was good to see residents enjoying themselves at the opening ceremony. I am also pleased that we completed this major project on time and on budget.”
It was wonderful to see members of the original Great Hollands Working Group that saw the project through from conception, through construction and to completion. Former Cllrs Iain and Jennie McCracken, Peter Hill and Jo Woodcock were thrilled to see the final result of their hard work on the pavilion.
It was so wonderful to see families enjoying this wonderful facility and Bracknell Town Council hope that you enjoyed the event as much as we did.

17 residents from our twin town of Leverkusen arrived in Bracknell on 27th June for a culture filled visit whilst staying with local host families. The 46th exchange visit was organised and funded by Bracknell Twinning Association and the visitors themselves, and they managed to squeeze in a lot of activities over the 5 day trip. On Friday 28th June the guests had a tour of the new town centre in Bracknell followed by tea and cake with the new Town Mayor Cllr Isabel Mattick ...in the Council Chamber. They visited Jealott’s Hill land share and attended an international quiz night at the new Great Hollands pavilion organised by the Twinning Association. On Saturday 29th June there was a visit to Blenheim Palace and a detour to Oxford where the town was explored and some of the visitors wandered around the Ashmolean Museum. The Leverkusen guests visited Hampton Court Palace on Sunday 30th June with a meal at the local Koh-i-Noor restaurant in Bracknell with their host families. The last full day of the visit included a very informative guided tour of the Houses of Parliament and a relaxing 3 hour boat trip along the Thames. Along with the amazing sunny weather, old friendships between residents in Bracknell and Leverkusen were renewed and new relationships blossomed. The Twinning relationship between the two towns is very strong and Bracknell residents will be returning to Leverkusen next June for the 47th exchange visit.
