We visit regularly and the food is always lovely

The roast was absolutely perfect! It used to be ok for a quick lunch with the kids but now it’s lovely fresh veg and beautiful tender beef and other meats.

The roast potatoes were not frozen like before but lovely crispy fresh potatoes, a pleasure to eat there and we were impressed!!!!

The meals have improved loads. Lovely meals every time we have been in the last few minths

I take my father there several times as he loves eating out and always eats well when there. We actually go every Sunday for dinner, we both have the cavery and thoroughly enjoy it. Yes sometimes the brussels can be hard but they have still been edible. The meat has always been cooked to perfection, how ever when I have had beef its been a bit tough but I know myself beef is hit and miss when cooking it to perfection. Over all its a very tasty roast lunch and full of flavour. This last weekend a friend also came along as she said best cavery she has ever tasted and she has been to several places and had the carvery.

The staff are wonderful and have always been polite and always made the time to talk to me and my father and make us feel very welcome. They always cope in difficult situations as sometimes when we have been the tills have played up.

With the refill hot drinks and cold fizzy drinks its great value for money.

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea eating there but its definitely my father's and he is 78yrs old and if it makes him happy and he eats well then this is the place I will be taking him to until he can't get there anymore.

Keep up the great work all at the Bobbing Apple

Had my mums wake here on Tuesday and I must say that it was perfect. We had a nice big space reserved and the food they provided was really nice and all fresh. The staff were all so nice and really attentive and helpful. Will be going back with the family again soon for a meal.

User

Enjoyed the Tandoori mixed grill, great dish. Staff friendly especially Steve, the Deputy Manager.

Went for breakfast Easter Monday. It was very busy and done in a buffet style this time which I'm told is not always how it's set up. Food was delicious and the poor staff were run off their feet but they were very polite and worked very hard to keep up. Only didn't give 5 stars as the coffee machine couldn't keep up!

User

Visited for an 80th birthday celebration. We all had carvery and were pleasantly surprised with the good despite hearing negative reviews in the past. All family members happy with good food consumed and the price was extremely reasonable for a Sunday roast.

I go quite often as it is a central location for me to meet with friends. Usually we go for the breakfast and have done both the cooked to order and buffet style. On occasion the cooked to order has cold bits and I would recommend avoiding the bubble and squeak but overall a great breakfast for the price.

On the few occasions I have gone for lunch the food has taken a while but is hot and tastes good. The kids meals however are hit and miss. Some times the Bolognese is lava hot and others barely warm.

Bottomless coffee and fizzy drinks is definitely a perk.

The staff are 90% of the time friendly and helpful although during busy times can be a bit rude or you just don't see anyone and plates don't get cleared.

It would be nice if (baring in mind I've been going regularly for nearly a year) the ladies toilet Near the soft play was fixed. To date the issues are a lack of lighting, an unfixed seat and a blocked sink. Doesn't sound much but the light and seat had not been fixed in the entire time!!

The soft play is average and easily entertains my 1 year old but my 6 year old gets bored quite quickly.

I will definitely continue to pop over for breakfast!

User

Must Admit we only go here if we have the grandchildren they can play and eat while we just have a coffee and watch, great for a rainy afternoon to meet with other family we chat the food is great for the children we normally have a sharing platter bottomless coffee or soft drink good value for money. Could not find a changing facility for nappy changing so had to do in the ladies on the floor this is a family place so this could be addresses sorry if you do have the facility but I couldn’t find it

User

Been loads of times kids love the play areas and gives adults a time for conversation. On our last visit my scampi was amazing, however my husbands and sons burger was so dry and hard to eat. But the puddings were amazing . Would return just for the puds

What a shame!

Another restaurant chain has got lazy and complacent.

Website says "chip shop night", "eat as much as you like of..."

It lists 18 things.

In reality 5 of those things have 'run out' including the actual fish! Meanwhile those ordering to the table are receiving huge pieces of the same fish from the same kitchen.

The wait for buffet food to come out is ridiculous as well.

Just heard the chef say that he accepted a tip to bring out more of the ' run out fish.

Terrible service and mediocre food.

Brewers Fayre used to be so respectable, whatever went wrong?

Went for a evening meal with the hubby on a Saturday evening ...got seated very easily as it wasnt busy...Main course arrived ok ..but had to then ask a waitress for our second course ...she brought the meals but forgot the eggs i had ordered with the steak...our starter plates werent taken away and we werent asked if we wanted any sauces etc..i had to ask for some mustard...a broken crisp was laying on the floor that had been trodden on was ignored when it could easily have been swept up quickly ..my husbands chair was filthy with stains all over it ..The food itself was lovely just the service was awful..

User

Wanted nice evening meal with partner but other kids kept running past our table and food wasnt best.

User

There was only 1 selection of meat and the potatoes were rubbish ! There wasn’t slot of choice for veg and as there was only 1 choice of meat u would of thought u would of got more than 2 slices !! Very poor but never been this bad b4 was very disappointing

User

Went into there this evening with my family, 3/ Adults 3/Children it didn't seem very clean ! At the table only knives probably from the last visitors no cutlery or sauces !! Toilets was filthy ! Food was horrendous two of us had tomato soup to start and packet powder soup would have been thicker and better! Bread and butter that came with was edible! Prawn cocktail was pile of lettuce with prawns in seafood sauce plonked on top! Kids starters were awful and food that should have came with didn't I actually ask about it and main were just as bad was thinking about ordering desserts as most of food got left, we three adults and three children didn't enjoy any of it but the state of the desserts menus put others and myself from ordering it was digesting I did mention that to a waitress on the way out she made some lame excuse about it being laid in food from other customers then wipe it off, and would rather have spent £80 + somewhere else I won't be going there again and I have visited few times before and I'm sure it must have changed hands can't remember it being that bad,. even the join in the carpet was pretty dangerous, by our table and the waitress kept handing hot food over my young grandsons head 0/ 10 I'm afraid

This is the worst restraunt ever! You literally have to book and if it’s full they won’t even let you wait for a table, most other places leave some pre bookable not here! You literally HAVE to book! And it’s a brewers Fayre not the ritz! Won’t ever return, needs to take some tips from harvester and hungry horses etc definitely do not recommend

User

Popped into bobbing apple today bank Holiday Monday for lunch , quite busy as you would expect and I asked the lady behind the bar if we could sit anywhere to eat , she snapped my head off saying " there is a long wait for food it is a bank holiday you know " I said again I know it's busy but can we sit at a table by the bar again she said " there is a wait for food" . I can honestly say she was so rude it took me by surprise and I walked out . May I suggest love if you don't like your job then get another one ! Customer service really isn't your bag . We left and had a nice lunch elsewhere we were quite happy to wait and never had an issue with waiting . Very poor service.

Me and my wife had lunch here on Sunday 21/1/18. We both had different meals and hours later we both came across ill and we were sick. Add to that the lack of tables available and the lack of staff this place has gone down hill
