Went yesterday for dads birthday, ordered starters and mains. Spot on cooked well! Staff friendly and considerate. Very dissapointed that the indoor play area is shut due to vandalism! People need to get the children to respect these things as ruins it for others! Desert was epic! Thanks to all staff who served us!

Hadn't been here lately but after being delayed for hours in traffic and trying a different route, it was a pleasant surprise to find that the meals ordered from the new menu (breaded garlic chicken with chips and beef and ale pie) were absolutely delicious. The dessert of Raspberry and prosecco cheesecake was also wonderful. We didn't stay for coffee due to the time but left feeling very satisfied!

Enjoyed a lovely meal here for my dad's birthday last night. I havnt very been well so couldn't eat an adults meal so the waitresses made suggestions about what i could have and were very helpful. Friendly staff and we were laughing all night. Thank you for everything.

Been visiting here with our children for many years, never had a bad meal, staff always friendly and helpful, great value for money.

Been several times in last 3 months and staff always lovely and helpful. Food has been very good no complaints from me. Thank you.

nice meal out for lunch without the kiddies in tow, staff friendly, all would say was the staff did not tell us they did not start cooking untill 12 noon even thought I was there and ordered at 11:30 otherwise though a plesent experience had :)

We've dined here several times over the past few years and find it convenient for meeting up with friends for lunch or dinner if we're staying overnight at the adjoining premier Inn.

We've seen many changes in the restaurant and recently noticed the need for more staff at the bar where food is ordered.

Yesterday 2 trainees were being shown the ropes by an experienced member of staff which will hopefully help to reduce the pressure present staff seem to be under.

Although short staffed we've always been treated with politeness and asked if everything is ok with our meals.

We both chose meals from the 2 meals for £8.99 + desserts for £1.99 each menu and found it a good deal.

Ñext time we're in Braintree we will be dining there again.

Staff were friendly & food was good

Don’t come here if your kids like playing outside the door is still locked after waiting 30 mins staff are too busy only 3 very small families here wouldn’t mind but the door is marked emergency exit ..

Booked for a party of 18 for a 1st birthday party. Cant complain about the service or the food it was all very good and the food was nice and hot. However we had been seated near the toilets, the womens had been closed but the smell everytime someone went into the mens was making us feel sick. We mentioned it to a member of staff who went in there with some sort of spray in a bottle then come back out 2 minutes later. The smell didnt go away so we closed the toilets for them and was later told by the waitress that a pipe must have come off again. Such a shame as the food and service was really good but the stench of urine put us off our food.

We arrived yesterday for a two days stay and we had booked the meal deal,last night was so busy but the food was good,breakfast this morning was ok,however tonight I had the haddock and chips and there was so much water coming out of it I told the waitress and she just shrugged her shoulder and sad sorry about that!! Well so are we because once we've had breakfast tomorrow we will not be recommending this restaurant to any of our friends or family .

What can I say about this place, I feel the staff don't want to know about customer service. I think the food is above the ok mark. I can't recommend this place. If you have any money to spend then go somewhere else.

We visited here on Monday 4th September for my daughters birthday. We found a table like requested although it seemed they were very understaffed and many tables were filled with dirty wares. We sat down and when I pulled out my chair it was utterly disgusting with food under the table everywhere. The table itself was sticky. The toilets near the soft play area were hideous. Toilet paper everywhere and wet toilet paper all over the sinks. No toilet paper actually in the two cubicles! The whole place was very unhygienic and dirty. The food - not pleasant at all. None of us finished our meals, my daughter couldn't even keep it in her mouth! The naan breads had been kept under the heat lamps on curry night for so long they were biscuits! It was unattended so we saw many people helping themselves after ordering different meals from the menu. It wasn't a pleasant visit, everything has gone down the pan over the years there and I see no improvements! Won't be returning unfortunately as it seems all the money went on upgrading the hotel and not the restaurant which needs it so badly

Very understaffed, wasn’t lady behind bars fault though. Customers in front of me had to choose a second choice meal. I too couldn’t have want I wanted . Grandsons wanted donuts for dessert unable to. Had to ask for plates to be removed before we started our dessert !

No excuse for filthy machines. Ice machine was gross I threw up my breakfast.

Never going here again. Got food poisoning from the lamb shank which I knew looked dodgy. DO NOT GO HERE.

Many items not available. Looking forward to chip shop night as advertised only to be told it was “subject to availability” whatever that means!! No apologies given, just seemed that the staff didn’t care. Overall out of the two visits I didn’t really enjoy any.

Just tried to order a meal bar staff asked table number please i replied 74 then told we don't serve food to that table why has it got a number then then staff member asked are you going to order food my reply no can't have food at my table what a load of tosh( other wise known as bollocks) so it looks like food elsewhere The Mulberry can swivel not getting my business..

Don't even bother to go here I had the rubber chicken with burnt chips. The staff didn't know what table was what long wait for any kind of service and the place wasn't even busy. So my advice is to drive past and don't stop
