£4.40 for a Bagel full of salty beef with pickles and mustard + £0.70 for a soft drink is the way to go on a Friday evening

There is something amazing about this bakery and it’s not just the beigels. Of course they are delicious but you can get delicious beigels elsewhere too. You could say it’s the atmosphere and there’s plenty of that around. There was some kind of scuffle outside shortly after I left. Free kung fu entertainment whilst you eat your smoked salmon cream cheese beigel and wait patiently for the bus. The staff are homely and welcoming without seeming to have sprouted from a franchise template. The whole place feels as if it has stood the test of time and perhaps that is the point I am trying to make. That in all essence you’re not just buying a beigel. You are buying a memory of an East End that is flickering like an old candle in the relentless wind of change. You are buying a beigel with a live action drama and comedy revolving around it 24 hours a day.

Best bagel shop ever been to very tatty looking could do with bit of a revamp but the bagels are the best just wish they would update shop a bit and counter staff not looking very Jewish if get my drift always staff in tatty clothes just a observation

I must admit I meant to go to the Beigel Bake next door but having never been to this neck of the woods, went to the wrong “renowned” beigel shop. BUT I’m please to say the salt beef beigel was pretty spot on, with generous amount of salt beef and gherkin in the beigel, so much so that Beigel Bake had better be pretty darn great, since everyone seems to talk about them. I’ll give that one a shot very soon. In the meantime, there’s no denying that the Beigel Shop is no slouch and does a pretty impressive salt beef beigel in their own right.

Super cheap, multi-coloured bagels. Not that much more to it really. The place was busy; even on a Sunday evening, which can't be a bad thing!
