ŌĆ£ItŌĆÖs so lovely, to have this second surge, knowing you can still do your thing and do it rather well.ŌĆØ

"Singing gives them something to look forward to."
In Alan Bennett's Allelujah!, a geriatric ward is brought to life by a patient choir (some singers more reluctant than others).

Alan Bennett's fondness for Yorkshire shines through in many of his plays.
Allelujah! captures the keen sense of humour and rooted resilience of a Yorkshire community coming together to save their local hospital, The Beth. #YorkshireDay

In Allelujah!, Alan Bennett gives us a Yorkshire community trying to save the local hospital from closure.
Designer Bob Crowley told us how he brought 'The Beth' to life on stage at The Bridge.

That's the Alan Bennett trademark. Allelujah! makes you laugh then leaves you thinking.

Alan Bennett and Nicholas Hytner have been working together for nearly 30 years.
The duo first paired on The Wind in the Willows at the National Theatre in 1990. Allelujah! at The Bridge is their 10th collaboration.

Where Alan Bennett goes, laughter follows.
It's lovely to see so many happy faces among Allelujah! audiences every night.

User

Not that we need an excuse for ice cream butŌĆ” It's the hottest day of the year so far and we've got a cart selling lovely Jack's Gelato outside our theatre. We'll leave you to draw your own conclusions but you'll find us on Potters Fields, by Tower Bridge, and did we mention it's really hot?

User

Alan Bennett's plays have been making us laugh since the 1960s.
Allelujah! is his first new play in more than five years and it's no exception.

User

ŌĆ£In AlanŌĆÖs plays there is always a character who represents his voice. Here that is my character. Which is brilliant."

Cast members from his previous plays stepped out in force to celebrate the premiere of Allelujah!, from The Lady in the Van to The History Boys.

Perhaps all state-of-the-nation plays should come complete with a singalong, just like Allelujah!
What do you think?

Wow what a performance by the entire company! Being part of the crowd in the pit was amazing, scary at times but absolutely fantastic. You were drawn into the story and we really felt part of the narrative...looking at the scenes evolving before us....being pushed and shoved and told to take cover! We have never felt so included.

The actors were brilliant made this modern interpretation so alive.

The management of the crowd was well choreographed and although it was scary to be pushed about you did feel safe!

Thank you for such an enthralling show!

User

What a fabulous space! The staff are friendly, the food is brilliant and the performance of Julius Caesar was one of the best things I have ever seen - in terms of acting, staging, the whole caboodle.

User

We went to see ŌĆśJulius CaesarŌĆÖ which was fabulous, very intense staging and wonderful acting. It was our first time at The Bridge Theatre and it wonŌĆÖt be the last. It is a lovely contemporary theatre with a distinctive feel to it. And the location of course is wonderful too, - anyone looking for a cultural ŌĆśsliceŌĆÖ of London, should go.

User

We saw Julius Caesar this afternoon! It was brilliant! We were in the pit which probably made the experience even more amazing! We highly recommend it! Bravo!!

User

Such an innovative and fabulous space - we loved the immersive action, cast and production of Julius Caesar. Would highly recommend and will definitely go again. ’┐Į

User

Signed up for the whole season at the Bridge Theatre. My reticence of seeing ŌĆ£Julius CaesarŌĆØ for the nth time was quashed tonight. Such a brilliant, innovative, immersive theatre production! Shifts in politics; shifts on stage. Cast, especially Ben Wish are captivating.

User

Really lovely theatre. Saw Nightfall yesterday. Very moving play. We have a farm, so it was particularly moving for us. Terrific performances.

User

Julius Caesar: what an outstanding performance, congratulations to everyone involved. Shakespeare at itŌĆÖs best. Great pleasure to watch.

User

It was an excellent performance and wonderful staging but the crowning glory was the wonderful staff.

User

I watched Julius Caesar this evening and it was brilliant. I would highly recommend everyone to watch it. The theatre staff are friendly, very professional and helpful.

User

I think this theatre is truly immersive - I can't imagine you will sit anywhere any not have a great view and become totally involved in the action. I'm a big Shakespeare fan and thought the performances were great - I particularly liked the relationship between Brutus and Cassius (Ben Whishaw and Michelle Fairley). The fact that she was a female Cassius just did not jar at all, it seemed totally natural. The fact that the audience on the ground were part of the mob was great - a nod to groundlings at the Globe perhaps, but the fact that they were in and amongst the action was something totally different. Bravo Bridge Theatre, Nicholas Hytner and cast.

User

Had an amzing experience at the Bridge Theatre - great location, atmosphere and performance

User

Great experience from start to finish. No booking fees, email with timings and venue info sent prior to the play and a thank you email the next day! Staff were lovely, nice bar area, drinks a little pricey but standard for London. Theatre itself is a good layout with cheapest seats still having a reasonable view and very comfy.

User

Brilliant new theatre in an awesome location. So far we've seen Young Marx and Julius Caesar. Looking forward to seeing many more productions in the years to come.

User

Amazing performance of Julius Caesar! It is absolutely outstanding to be in the middle of the action and to feel completely involved! I hope to come back to Bridge Theatre soon even if I'm from Germany!

User

Amazing - air conditioning and ┬Ż35 seats with fantastic view

User

Absolutely Amazing Experience. Being in the promenade felt like participating in a play itself or the revolution ’┐Į. Julius Caesar is an unforgettable play with brilliant performances by Ben Whishaw, Michelle Fairley, David Morrissey and all the cast. They are also very, very nice people.Would recommend to any theatre lover not to miss it.

User

A beautifully designed new theatre in London. Already has two fab productions under its belt; the delightful Young Marx and the explosive Julius Caesar. Looking forward to many more fab productions here.

User

A great venue with fantastic acoustics. All the staff we met were friendly and enthusiastic. Young Marx is so funny, and the chemistry between Oliver Chris and Rory Kinnear is the warm heart of the show. We thoroughly enjoyed being part of the first audience and can't wait to to go back
