This is a long review, but like fellow reviewers or pioneers who shared their story before me, I hope to help someone from the misery of dental pain and to take charge of their dental health as we all should have the confidence to.



I was 16 when I was told by a rather rude dentist that I needed a filling. When I asked a few questions I was given short shrift and left to feel that I couldn’t trust this man. Cue a 12 year hiatus on visiting a dentist until I was 28 - at which point after reading lots of forums and websites I landed upon Ketan’s website with these testimonials from lots of patients who told the virtues of this non judgemental, pain free dental practice with tools such as the magical wand, could injections really be painless and complex previously unfathomable procedures really be done in such a sensitive and considered way? After a year I managed to pluck up the courage to call and from the moment Faith warmly answered the phone, I felt like this could be the place to get me though.



I arranged to visit Ketan and I can honestly say that he listened, wanted to understand what my anxieties were and agreed to do everything at my pace and to my agenda. Miraculously we identified only a few fillings were needed and potentially a root canal. Everything was explained and Ketan wrote to me a few days later at home with a full treatment plan, clear prices and I called to get things started and agreed to start with a simple filling.



I was petrified before going for the procedure. My head filled with every horror story I’d been told, I could visualise every recoil from friends and family at the mere mention of the dentist. I mustered the courage but would have gladly run away - I’m glad I didn’t.



I arrived and was pleased that my requests of all dental equipment to be kept hidden/under paper had been met and I was able to sit down without my fears being made worse by seeing all manner of equipment that would be used. Most importantly, my request for Kiss FM to be on the radio had been received and I was comforted by the music I enjoy, rather than the typical ‘relaxing’ classical music that many dentists play and is far from relaxing! I felt in safe hands.



Ketan explained the procedure and after some magic gel on my gum he started with the dental wand to numb my tooth. Whilst clutching a stress ball at the fear of impending pain, the injection started and I didn’t feel a thing - this really was magic.



Once the tooth was numb it was time to start the filling, the next scary aspect. Ketan started work on the tooth and again, I didn’t feel a thing. Internally I started to realise that my fears were unfounded and I started to feel free of the worries I have had for years - I threw the stressball away much to the amusement of Ketan and Faith who soon realised I was doing okay with things and the procedure was soon done and was a total non event. Because the wand had been used for the anaesthetic, I was also able to get on with my day without waiting for the numbness to wear off!



Since then, I’ve had a number of fillings, hygienist appointments (all of the team are lovely) and more recently after some unfortunate infection with one of the teeth that had a large filling, I had to have a root canal procedure and a crown. This is probably one of the scariest procedures everybody you talk to will balk at and I can honestly say bar some discomfort from the infection I had, the treatment and care I have had was a pure 10/10.



For the first time in years I have left the dentist with follow up appointments for a check up and my hygiene appointment already in the diary, I’ve pushed my fears out and am firmly in control of my health for the first time in a long long time.



I can hand on heart say I would not have taken charge of sorting my dental health out, had it not been for Ketan, Faith, Elena, Negar, Raminta, Liudmila, Adam and Evita over the last three years.



If you want a dentist that is reasonably priced, caring and pain free then give Brightside a call. They certainly live up to their promise of calm and gentle dentistry.

No pain whatsoever!

I visited Brightside today for a last minute appointment to have a filling done. It was my first time at Brightside, and I had a really possitive experience. The reception staff were lovely. The dentist, Dr. Shah, was very calm and thorough, he spent time on my teeth (not rushed) and explained what he was doing as he worked to keep me at ease.

My previous fillings by other dentists have been quite painful, but at Brighside I felt no pain whatsoever! I would definately reccomend this practice!

My husband is a very nervous patient and had a couple of emergency appointments last week. The excellent Dr Shah and the rest of the staff were absolutely wonderful with him. All the staff at Brightside Dental are so professional, caring and supportive. Their duty of care towards my husband was absolutely exceptional and therefore I can whole heartedly recommend this dental practice to anybody. A massive thank you to all the lovely staff for looking after him so well.

Just went in for 2 fillings and dreading it as I have massive dentist fear and I've never had such a good experience having work done at a dentist ever. Opted for the numbing wand instead of needle and seriously couldn't feel a thing throughout. I was just waiting for the pain to start and then all off a sudden it was done, no pain at all. Now afterwards my mouth is completely normal, no numbness or drooling which you get after the needle. All the staff are amazing from dentist, hygienists to receptionists. Couldn't recommend this place more. Just wish I'd started going here sooner! Thank you Brightside dental!

I share a similar experiance of dentists as some of the other revewers. When I was a kid, some 60 years and more ago, dentists could be brutal as mine were. One guy hated to use gas or injection for fillings and extractions. He would often accept a phone call in the middle of treatment to talk 'shop' to another dentist. He once admitted that his drill bits burned teeth! Going to the dentist in those days meant PAIN, and as the proceedure was often more painful than the bad tooth, well, the outcome is obvious. Things have improved no end in recent times. These days its almost like a social event going to see Ketan and his team. A few laughs, a chat with the front desk and on to a relaxed and painless bit of dentistry.

I had ICON treatment with Ketan at Brightside due to having marks on my teeth from braces in my teens. I had been searching for years for a solution with no success and then finally found out about ICON. The dental surgery is amazingly friendly all the time - not just on the odd occasion - the whole team are lovely and attentive.



Ketan I cant thank you enough for your advice and recommended treatment plan - I can finally share my smile without feeling embarrassed.



Sorry for my delay in my review - I have been smiling from ear to ear and enjoying the results!

Had a really great experience for my 18 month old boy. He's not often cooperative in medical situations but Ketan Shah was amazing with him. Put him at ease and my little boy was very chatty and comfortable. Both kids had a lot of fun at the surgery and all the staff were very warm and welcoming. Seen promptly.

Dr Shah and his staff are lovely and helpful!! I completely trust them and I will advise the brightside Dental clinic to everyone!!!

Best service ever!! Reception staff are so helpful, rearranged appointments to fit me in so i didnt need to take time off from work.
