About Bronte_London

Bronte is a beautiful new restaurant and bar overlooking Trafalgar Square. We are open breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as weekend brunch.

Bronte_London Description

Taking its place at 1-3 the Strand, overlooking the bustling Trafalgar Square, Bronte is a welcome new addition to London’s vibrant restaurant scene. Chef Andrew Lassetter is at the helm of the kitchen creating a menu inspired by the Pacific, using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. The restaurant will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as weekend brunch.

Tom Dixon’s Design Research Studio are transforming the space to give a bright new look. Floor to ceiling windows bathe the front pantry area in natural light, with a subtle and stylish palette travelling through to the main Dining Room. Extraordinary materials have been used generously and boldly. The bright and airy rooms are accented with colour from a pink concrete bar and green granite feature kitchen, to custom design furniture with green leather and black timber booths, and plenty of foliage to bring the outdoors in.

Went to this venue before going to see The King and I. Great vibe for a Saturday evening. Excellent cocktails. Food looked good even though we weren't eating there. Will definitely return for food.

User

Went there last night, both food and drinks were great. only thing I would say is I wish they had more options of beers and the chicken satay would f been more tasty if the sauce was on the side, other than that a great place. Will defo visit again.

Went for a friends birthday and the staff were attentive and treated the Birthday girl- cannot wait yo come back! The food and drink was also incredible.

This bar has the best staff in London! The food and cocktails are great and good value. As someone who goes out in London very often I can recommend Bronte as one of the best.

It was nice to see a restaurant with such a small menu of refined and interesting dishes. Although the menu is small - it has quite a variety. I had a crispy duck bao bun and my mother had the steak. Both beautifully presented and just delicious. We sat in the downstairs restaurant which was a bit fancier than expected. The cafe section looks a bit more welcoming at the front of the house, but downstairs was still warm and comfortable. Reasonably priced with more than reasonable portion sizes. Good speed for food service although the waiter could have glanced over at us a little more when we were trying to get his attention. Highly recommend stopping by here if you like contemporary Asian foods.

Incredible food, so delicious. Service was speedy and friendly and the decor is amazing. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

User

Great service and snack options, we had to visit as our daughter Bronte spotted her name.

Worth the stop to enjoy.

Bronte is one of those remarkable dining venue/bar.

The restaurant as well as the bar divided in several spaces. Overall decoration is a tribute to the area and Contemporary layout which illustrates good taste.

We took the a selection of British and Asian dishes from the dining menu which allowed us to taste some of the specialities Bronte have on offer.

As a whole, the experience is definitely a very good one, for us Chilli Salt Squid were particularly the highlight of the menu, alongside with the lamb cutlets which followed.

Service is up to the task, and definitely knows how to handle it and man the fort.

As a whole, the experience is extremely pleasurable.

Bronte certainly manages a cooking perfection to a great level. It is certainly worth visit.

Started off having cocktails at the bar. The music was very loud but in no way unbearable in this area and really good. Cocktails were good. Then dined in the restaurant area, where the music was appropriately quieter. Had a kind of booth for me and my 8 friends, which although was in no way private from the other diners, it kind of felt as though it were. I found the waiter waiting on us very good at his job, and my only real criticism is he could have smiled a little more, well, at all really. But saying that, he was very attentive, it didn't take any effort to get his attention, so my small criticism really is quite petty. The food was good and we ordered quite a few starters and main, which all arrived in a timely fashion and together. Think with regard to price, it is probably on par with other establishments of its kind. Decore was nice although I did wonder what the kimono in the corner was all about, perhaps one of the Bronty sisters owned it. All in all, a very nice place to spend an evening eating with friends. Definitely worth trying.

Lovely place. Starters amazing. Only complain I have is the sweet potatoe fries that accompany the funky fish were disappointing. They are not chips. More like shredded garnish on the side.

User

Innovative, modern pan-Asian cuisine. Good fresh food and attentive service. Very nice 'funky' fish & chips, prawn tempura, tuna maki and a yummy chocolate 'bomb'. Rather pricey, although probably in keeping with similarly styled contemporary restaurants in London. Also has a cafe, bar and large outdoor seating area. Good location for theatres & Embankment.

User

Food was delicious, it's a shame we had to give up table after 2hrs, didn't get to chill as long as we wanted but service was 5* and the place is lovely aesthetically

User

Chicken gyoza and duck steamed buns were delicious! Disappointed with sweet potato fries with the funky fish and chips. Service was good and restaurant has a nice buzz to it. Decor and name feel a bit confused with the Asian fusion menu, but still recommended.

User

Absolutely love the atmosphere, if you looking for some for cocktails and amazing desserts.. This is the place to be.

Went for the afternoon tea, which I of course expect to be slightly over-priced. This one was especially so due to the poor service - the staff were clearly trained the formalities of waiting, but seemed to spend most of our visit wandering around doing very little. We had to get up to ask them to serve us twice, each time after politely trying to get their attention for 20 minutes. As someone who previously spent years waiting tables, this was frustrating and disappointing.

The food was not worth the cost overall (£24 pp). The 4 finger sandwiches were made with bread the quality you'd expect from Tesco's value range, with meagre fillings and underwhelming flavour. The desserts were interesting and of a good standard. The teas were served in loose-leaf tea pots, yet were made with tea bags. The staff told us we could have free top-ups of hot water, yet when we asked for this, they were snobby about doing so and only filled them half way.

The venue is beautiful and could be amazing. Sadly, my experience indicated that Bronte sold style over substance, and struggled in it's attempt to do even that.

Food was good but the service was severely lacking and we left disappointed because of this. We asked three times for our children's water, we had to ask for cutlery as 2 of us had none even when the food arrived then we had to ask for steak knives, all from waiters serving other tables. One dish never arrived, we were never offered condiments (we finally called another waiter over again and requested it), no-one came to ask if everything was okay with our food, the bill was delivered then we waited an age for our waiter to remember us so we could ask him to remove the item that never arrived (no apology). The impression I got was that we weren't 'special' enough to warrant attention. I'm gutted that I paid the 12.5% service charge which was nearly £20 because I didn't want to spoil our special evening.

User

As other poor reviews have said here, it's not the food that is the problem but the service. The wait staff act uninterested and then were annoyed that we did not order more than we did. The food tastes good but the service and attitude of the staff left us with a bitter taste in our mouths. It's a shame for a restaurant in such a nice area of London.

We wait for our food for more than hour and when we asked they said they made a mistake in the kitchen and lost our order ! ... and did not even bother to tell us . Terrible service . They don’t care at all of customers .The only BAD experience of LONDON ! When I went to talk with the manager she asked me to “ wait “ more ?? I was waiting for an hour !!!! And the Manager rather than listen asked me to wait ! Terrible service . DON’T go .

Not at all impressed with Bronte London unfortunately, beautiful venue and somewhere I was so looking forward to visiting for brunch today. Only to arrive and find no brunch menu available on Fridays. Even Bank Holiday Friday. But no mention of this on their website as to the times that Breakfast ends and Lunch starts. Requested the brunch menu to be told that it isn't available neither is breakfast and the only option is the lunch menu. It's really put me off returning on a weekend for brunch.
