It's so much fun combining interests in a cake design, my latest creation was this cake incorporating elements from Star Wars and Game of Thrones!
It was such a lovely few days working with Yoda perched on his throne next to me, I genuinely miss the little guy 💚

So this was a fun brief for a 90th birthday cake...
The birthday girl loves knitting, horse racing, and takes a Disney cruise every year.
I incorporated these using the knitted hat (totally edible of course!) horse sihouettes, and the gold scroll and hidden Mickeys that are on Disney ships.
... I also used the colour scheme of a Disney liner to bring it all together!

I am BROKEN! My body hates me & has totally stopped working, my blisters have blisters & my toenails are a distant memory.
I’m pretty gross & annihilated right now - but my heart is so, SO full.
Thank you for your messages, your donations, your love and your support. We completed 43.5 miles in 23 hours & 52 minutes! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀... What’s more, my total raised for Mind from this event alone currently stands at over £3300!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It can be so easy to be worried about the negativity and toxicity that exists, but this whole experience has shown me repeatedly how many amazing people there are. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ From the heroes who supported the hike through encouragement and sponsorship, to those who took part and spent hours sleep deprived and in agony (both mentally and physically!) just to do their bit to make a difference - these are the folk to focus on. Do so and fill your world with beauty, grace and love ❤️

Morning troops!
Tomorrow I'm driving down to Cornwall ready to take part in a 40 miles in 24 hours hike on Saturday-Sunday and raise money for Mind. I don't know anyone I'll be walking with, and I'll be honest, I'm terrified.
I've been reflecting on why I am doing it (normally in the sense of "what the heck did I think I was doing") and every time the answer is a simple one.
... "Because there are far too many people who fight daily with their minds without the support or understanding that they need, and they deserve better."
I am only one person, but I know that when there are lots of "only one persons" we become something amazing. We can make a change.

1. The blog post that I wrote when I was in a pretty bad place a few years ago. It's the one that was tweeted about by the President of Mind (& all round fabulous chap!) Stephen Fry. This weekend we celebrated my folks' 40th wedding anniversary - so of course, I made cake!
I was very fortunate that the amazing Anne Thomas Photography was there, and I love with the way she captured my creation. I've worked with her before, and her images are always so beautiful ❤️
... Plus I loved how she shared my excitement about the cake matching my new handbag! 💕

I can reel mine straight off - I LOVE the Hungry Caterpillar 🐛 The Tiger who came to Tea 🐯 & Emily and the Purple Paint 💜
Needless to say, I jumped at the chance to create this cake for Finn's 1st birthday! It's all totally edible, and as the caterpillar is made from fondant too it means he can either be eaten or kept as a little momento
... I wonder if he stands a chance of not being nibbled!

This Friday in Chelmsford it is the launch of Amazing Me; a digital mindfulness-based positive psychology platform, focused on increasing wellbeing for both students and teachers in schools.
I have spoken a lot about how I wish mental wellbeing had been introduced to my life earlier, and about the fact my breakdown was actually a very fortunate event for me as it meant I got the help I needed. Programmes such as Amazing Me are striving to do just that, to introduce wellbe...ing at a primary school level - that is why I am SO passionate about this.
You have a few days left to grab your tickets; with networking opportunities, amazing guest speakers (including Dr Carmel Proctor!) AND a free trial of Amazing me for all delegates, this really is an amazing event that you can be part of.
This was a blog post I wrote a couple of years ago now, but I feel it's rather relevant given what a game changing day Friday could be for all the children in the primary schools who attend.
It's one of the blog posts that makes me feel most vulnerable, but I always say that if you cannot be a good example then you can be a horrible warning! I hope this post illustrates the importance of all schools ensuring children know that they are enough ❤️

Still working hard!!

We contacted Liz around a year ago, as we were organising our wedding, with some pictures which provided inspiration for our final cake design. We chose a five-tier cake, comprised of a light fruit cake; vanilla; lemon; and chocolate sponges, as well as an additional cutting cake to make up the numbers for our guests, and Liz delivered on all fronts! Everything was perfect, from the intricate sugar flowers to the colouring of the icing (alternating sky blue and white). Our only regrets are that we didn’t order more of it (helping us to get through our wedding blues), and that we didn’t bump into Liz in the morning to say thank you. Throughout the process she was brilliant at keeping in touch, tweaking our order, and even allowed us to purchase half a dozen cupcakes so we could try before we bought. We’d highly recommend BuBakes Cakes and Liz’s fantastic work. Thanks again!

The lovely Liz made us the most amazing Star Wars themed cake for our wedding last weekend. When I told her what I wanted as a surprise for my husband to be I could never have imagined how spot on (if not better!) she got it�He and all our guests were blown away by it! Not only did it look fantastic it tasted so lovely and it was brilliant that I got to choose 4 different flavour combinations... �I’m still working my way through them trying to decide which is my favourite! � I can’t thank you enough Liz! xx �� xx

Liz did my cake for my wedding last week and it was exactly how I imagined ( maybe even better) and it tasted amazing.

From when I contacted Liz and only had an idea of what I wanted she helped along the way in providing ideas and very helpful with any question that I had.
