With happy hearts we are getting ready to look after you all for Valentine's day next week - we melt when we see the romantic couples dining together holding hands under tables, but equally rejoice in hosting big groups of friends, singles and those of you who need a little break from the cheesyness surrounding this day every year.

Kids love Busaba, and we love introducing the little ones to the tastes and textures of asian cooking and also watching them trying to use chopsticks! Half Term is just around the corner, so why not treat the family to a Thai feast and share food with the ones you love.

Meet Debora, Debora is our General manager at the original Busaba restaurant in Wardour Street (Soho) she reveals some secrets about her life and her time at Busaba… #MeetTheBusabaFamily
Q1: How long have you been with Busaba? A: I have spent the last 5 awesome years working for Busaba.
... Q2: What’s the thing you like most about working for Busaba A: For me Busaba does not just develops people but also “create believers”… Working in Busaba gives me the feeling of being “part of a whole”..part of a family….thats what makes home feel a little closer even when you are millions of miles away from home 😊
In our Busaba’s family “People work for people, they do not work for “businesses” This has been my mantra for as long as I can remember and this is the value and belief I try you transmit every day to my team.
Q3: What’s your favourite Busaba Dish? A: Definitely Thai calamari and Ginger beef Q4: What’s an interesting fact about yourself? A: I am a very ambitious and driven person, I always motivate myself even during the difficult moments, because I do have a clear passion for my job and for what I do.
Q5: What’s your favourite thing to do when you are not at work? A: I like going to museums as I am really passionate about arts. Also, I love going to the cinema and theatre. I currently speak 5 languages and I am planning to studying another two very soon. My dream when a I was a child was to speak all the languages existing in the world 😊 Q6: What is your best Busaba Memory? A: My best Busaba memory is when two years ago - I was still acting General Manager at the time in Covent Garden we had been awarded “the best restaurant of the year”. Covent Garden branch is the place where I started 5 years ago as foh team member and where I developed my Busaba’s career, therefore will always have a special place into my heart.
Thank you for your time, Debora and keep up all the amazing work you are doing! #TeamBusaba

Happy New Year to all our Chinese friends! 🇨🇳 #YearOfThePig
Did you know that chopsticks are not typically used in Thailand? They were actually invented in China around 5000 years ago! We had so many requests from our guests for them, so who were we to argue! Hands up if you struggle using them... but if you do love eating our food with chopsticks we'll always have them for you - just ask for a pair. 🥢

Our chefs flash fry our freshly prepared seabass to achieve the golden crispy skin on this dish which then balances well with its tamarind, soy and lemongrass sauce.
The Golden Seabass Thod (Thod meaning fried in Thai) is one of our limited time only dishes and it could be gone before you know it, as we change and introduce new dishes regularly thought the year. 🐟

In 2018 we teamed up with Action Against Hunger to not only raise money but help drive awareness of this incredible cause and their aims.
Every time you ordered one of our Thai Aubergine Curry’s or from our children’s menu we donated 50p to #ActionAgainstHunger
Last year we, with help from our guests we raised £10,000 to go toward all the efforts and hard work this non profit charity is doing to eradicate child hunger in nearly 50 countries around the world.

🇬🇧London. About the other night: dinner at Busaba. Now one has not been to this staple london Thai chain for quite some time (we are talking 8 odd years) but was pleasantly surprised. Hearty portions and super quick service made for a delightful easy casual and affordable dinner. Marinated chicken satay skewers, light green papaya salad and green curry chicken were all lovely. But special praise must be given to the char-grilled oh so tender chilli, coriander, ginger and jasmine tea glazed beef short rib!

Just got back from a great evening at Busaba Eathai, Bethnal Green Road. Food was really, really tasty and prepared with care. I had the aromatic vegetable curry (vegan), and an Avocado salad (on the specials menu). My friend had a dish from the specials menu which was venison. I also had a green juice (very fresh) and my friend a guava Collins (delicious).

Our server, Darlan, was outstanding. He was very welcoming and friendly, best of all he was very knowledgeable about all the dishes and ingredients and he gave us and number of great recommendations which turned out to be perfect for us. Couldn't have asked for better service!

Will return soon. Thank you!

Great service by Ayesha! Amazing recommendations for soft food with amazing flavour for my partner’s sore wisdom tooth!

She’s amazing!

Great food and service. Darlan and Ali took care of our table and we couldn't be happier. They are super friendly and helpful. Thanks so much guys. You are the best!!

Came here 2 days in a row. Very friendly staff - we made a mistake and ate another table’s starter, they shrugged and laughed it off and gave us whiskey shots afterwards.

Second day, we paid by app and got £10 off our bill. Our waiter Vincenzo was very attentive and accommodating.

Will go back.

Busaba did not disappoint found while browsing on the internet ..places to eat in Shoreditch. We love Thai food so I booked a table online for myself and husband.

Atmosphere was cool staff were friendly more importantly the food was delicious.

Guava prosecco cocktails went down very quickly

User

Vibrant athmosphere with nice decor and warm welcomed from the staff. Nice food: had a Yam Pak salad with a couple of ginger drinks, nicely suggested by a very nice girl - Prai - that served us and was very keen to help & explain even at a late hour. Definitely will go back.

User

Good staff. Leo was excellent and fixed a problem when a portion of rice didn't turn up . Nice food and location a good ambience at this branch . Food nice too and not too much just right size portions

User

Being the area we did a quick food search and came across this place. Lovely decor and a generally good vibe. I had the red mullet curry with coconut rice which was very tasty with a good blend of spices etc. The service was ok, however our waiter forgot to bring out our chicken satay started with the mains & jug of water. This starter was a bit disappointing. Including the tenderness of the chicken on the skewers.

For dessert we went festive with the first minced pie of the year accompanied by a five spice ice cream and chilli flakes. The pastry on the mince by wasn't soft and flaky which made it hard to eat. Flavour was good but think the added chilli flakes are an acquired taste.

Cocktails here are on point and would definately come back for those. On the whole I would rate it a 3.5 stars

User

Been dining here on a number of occasions especially on mother’s day and can only say the food and service has always been excellent and super friendly

User

Actually left another restaurant in shoreditch to come to this one as the menu looked very appetizing... we certainly my weren't let down on the quality of the food.

Inadvertantly, our starters weren't put through and so a mad dash after we'd finished our mains produced the first of these 10 minutes later by which time neither of us really felt like them anymore so we cancelled them. The waiter did remind us that the food comes at different times but I think I'd still expect my starter first or minimally with my main, but certainly not that long after. There was no fuss with the cancellation so can't fault that.

I think this is a lovely lively eatery, with excellent quality food and drinks... Will definitely return and try out a few of their other venues...

User

We enjoyed the food and the cocktails but service could have been more attentive. The place was virtually empty as it was late Sunday afternoon. Had to go to the bar to order the second round of drinks. No interaction from the waitress....would have been nice to ask how the meal was! Bit of smile would be nice too.

One thing which I thought was very naughty of you is to serve instant noodles on kids menu and pass it off as egg noodles!

User

Nice food and atmosphere! Reasonable priced too. Just the service could be better. We had to ask 4 times to get water! However as we enojoyed our time this did not put us off from returning someday i believe.

User

My sister got really excited when noticed this restaurant in Shoreditch- made the decision for all 3 of us to pick exactly this one. Place looked nice and not really full, great I thought.

Wasn't really sure If we should stand and wait or just sit wherever we want.

Someone approached us and lead to a table. Other person just came over and ask for drinks.

No help wAs offered with a menu but the same men who show us a place took the order. My positivity about this place got consisent because of the wine we ordered, however getting snack with the main was everything but what I expected...especially when the snack were cold- and served with hot mains...what is wrong with this picture?

Waitress that served food didn't look very happy to do it, more like frustrated.

When we almost finished, got the check back.

I believe that was a manager of the place in a shitt who collected my tower of plates but...didn't hear any offer for a coffee, desserts, or at least if I'd like to have anything else.

Food was nice, it really was but the place was so casual- i wouldn't expect this service to be so...misplaced.

Don't expect and you be happy with the food

User

So disappointed with the food here...had high expectations, restaurant looked the part, big nicely decorated but the food was so overwhelmingly disappointing. Bland, colourless, tasteless. Starters served with main not sure why. Service so so... one waitress really friendly, manager was accommodating with requests...but not consistent with the other servers. Price wise restaurant ok but id rather pay more and actually eat something. Anyone who knows me knows I enjoy eating and will pretty much scoff anything down so for me to leave my mains untouched says it all!!!

User

Sat on terrace for 20 minutes no order take. Or water brought to us

Then waited for food

Apparently pink uncooked chicken is acceptable to eat

Another 20 mins to get that sorted

Asked 4 times for water

Never got any more service or drinks

Went to till to pay asclearly no one giving any service or drinks or pudding or water or bills and we explained to cashier and he said he couldn't charge us - so poor will not visit again

User

My wife and I ordered Busaba for dinner through Deliveroo, and the wrong meal was delivered (a few chicken wings instead of the Grilled Tamarind Duck).

When we called, the staff were unhelpful and unapologetic. Very disappointing, given how good the food usually is.

User

It's very disappointing that they removed all the soup noodles from the menu. Don't go there if those are what you are expecting. Soup noodles were the only ones I would order. The remain menu is quite boring, the ones with 3 chilli logos are not spicy at all.

User

It's ridiculous not to be able to book a table for two on a Saturday night. What is this thing of not taking bookings!?!? I find this so arrogant... Shame I've always liked their food, well don't like their non-booking system anymore, wanting us to just turn up and try it (as told when calling them). Great! Would love to just go all the way there, not sure if they'll have a table and maybe wait in the cold for hours, no thanks!

User

I went with my boyfriend last Friday. We chose the place as it said it had a £11.90 Bangkok fix menu from 4-7pm daily (this is still on the website BTW). We turned up at 6pm but when we aked for the menu the waiter told us it was weekend only though there was a paper on every table offering the Bangkok menu daily. We showed him the paper and asked again but he simply shrug his shoulders saying that sometimes they change stuff. We went for the Best of Busaba instead but when we got the Main - Pad kwetio it came without the sweet potatoe fries. The very least you could do is specify the Bangkok menu is not available at the weekend, Friday included as it says DAILY. Food was nice but overall a disappointing experience.
