Our friends from London Drawing Group are back for a new term! They’re at the Wellcome collection for a new tour this Thursday, and we’ll be announcing some new life drawing classes very shortly ❤️

Morning all, happy Monday. We have a big announcement: for the next three months, we’re going 100% vegan. Based on the amazing response to the two pop ups we hosted with her, we’ve decided to collaborate with @denaimoore and @dees_table for a plant-based take on the Jamaican food that we’ve known and loved our whole lives. This is the first time in our nearly 3-year life that we’ve changed our kitchen so drastically, and we’ve already had a few customers walk out when they couldn’t get their beloved Buster Mantis jerk chicken, but to put it intellectually: 🤷🏾‍♂️. Anyway. We’d like to welcome Dee to the Buster Mantis family, and we hope you guys like her food as much as we do. She’ll be starting tomorrow, September 4th. See you then 👊🏾❤️🌱

Went here is Friday and it was great! Food was amazing. Atmosphere and music fantastic. The owner was absolutely lovely, and gave me a cheap veggie burger because I was only ordering sides and he wanted me to try the jackfruit veggie burger - practically rolled out. Ha!

Well!! What a busy FANTASTIC New Year's Eve at Buster Mantis! Ate a delicious jerk jackfruit burger, drank the best-ever Rum Punch (delicious) and got wished 'Happy New Year' by so many lovely people. Although packed to the rafters there was such a great vibe in the place. Music was great & just about everyone seemed to be having a great time. Love the venue, loved the vibe!!

This place is a gem! Proper authentic-modern Caribbean food that is gorgeous, especially their veggie selection - the jackfruit roti is so yummy and the scotch bonnet dip is a nice touch. Decor & atmosphere is beautiful, it's the perfect spot for brunch, dinner or a night out :)

Stunning food and cocktails, lovely staff, what’s not to like?

Simplicity executed perfectly. Have been coming here over the past couple of years and they have consistently great food (goat curry!!!) And the cocktails are a real treat. Nice music and relaxing ambience. ♡

Proper portions, tasty cocktails, tasty food (The salt fish fritters...🤤), cool low key vibe.

Loved the food - I had jerk jackfruit wrap - the music (mix of jazz, r&b etc.) & the relaxed atmosphere. A great place to eat & spend time with friends & family

I Saw this bar on the net, and was thinking about having our staff Xmas party here, so went down with the hubby to check it out, what a nice surprise! It as such a warm nice feel to the place, had a lovely chat with the owner, who was so welcoming and friendly. I also sampled the rum punch made with good old Ray and his nephew, omg it was amazing!!

I highly recommend this lovely Jamaican bar, and will defiantly becoming a regular.

Great food, really nice service- delighted to accidentally stumble into somewhere that is actually really really good. Salt fish and ackee, curry and roti, saltfish fritters all excellent.

Gordon and the team took amazing care of my friends and I for my birthday on Sunday! Great atmosphere, no request was a problem and the food and cocktails were amazing. Especially the scotch bonnet!!

Food was packed full of flavour! We'll be back again soon!

Amazing space, just what Deptford needs. Super atmosphere, Gordon is the perfect host. Staff are lovely and they are incredible cocktail makers and the wine list is great, real quality wines that you can order by the glass, which is rare. Food fab too. This place is definitely leading the way in SE London.

Very simple place with a tranquil atmosphere (I went on a Tuesday ), you can have a chat or catch up with friends and the food is genuinely good Jamaican (nothing pretensious, just a good portion that you would get at home! ). I'll definitely go back when craving for some jerked chicken

Really disappointed because I do like supporting independent businesses as a local business in the area. The one thing that does frustrate me however is, the failure to appreciate the value of customer service - this goes along way. I decided to bring 5 friends along to Buster Mantis and boy did they get it wrong. How do you run out of chips at 9.30 on a Saturday night? Okay things happen - so my guests were happy to settle for burgers without chips. Fifteen minutes later, still 2 burgers missing - Turns out the whole order has been cancelled instead of the refund for the chips. Okay let's put this down to miscommunication, but when you have a word with the manager and the best thing he can say is: "When I gave you a refund you didn't complain", then someone needs retraining on how to manage customer issues and the reputational risks of failing to handle such issues well. Shame because I won't be visiting again. Off to Littlenans bar - marked difference in customer service - at least someone knows what they are doing.

Worst experience ever. Ordered 2 burgers & chips as I waited for the other 4 people to arrive. They arrived 10 minutes later & ordered another 4 rounds of the jerk burger & chips, they then came to our table & proceeded to tell me that they had run out of chips so would give me a refund & give me just the burgers. I was surprised as that was one of the specialties but accepted the refund. He then said the other orders that came 20 minutes after mine would have chips as they had enough .. Which annoyed me but I was hungry so waited for the burger.... Which never came, everyone else's food arrived, when questioned about my order I was told the kitchen is closed. Sorry ! I was fuming, I had ordered first, I was hungry & the customer service was horrible. They were rude about it & told us to share, we had to divide the other burgers & chips between us & all went home rather hungry & quite upset at the manner we were served. Never coming here again!!!!! Rather visit Nans Kitchen next door !
