Cable Official Description

Cable is housed deep within the atmospheric tunnels surrounding London Bridge railway station. The venue comprises of 2 separate clubs, the first being Cable which is spread over 2 arches (Main Room and Bar with a capacity of 900). Both have impressive lighting and bespoke sound systems by European sound specialists Nova. Tucked away in their own little vaults are offbeat alcoves hiding seating areas. The Bar set in the centre of the club – the hub of it all, features a mezzanine level whilst the smoking area adds perfectly to the underground feel of this special venue.

The second club being Relay which was forged from Cable's mysterious third arch to cater for the demand for live shows, as well as DJ performances, in London Bridge. Relay plays host to the legendary Laughing Boy Comedy Club and the past few months have seen Alan Carr, Kevin Bridges, John Richardson, Phil Jupitus & Marcus Brigstocke all take centre stage. Last month Relay was also the setting for the Blu-Ray launch of Ridley Scott's Prometheous as well as Loadstar's first ever live show at Idiosynphonic.

On the 1st May 2013, Network Rail took possession of Cable, forcing its immediate closure and the loss of 70 jobs. This footage documents the dramatic events that took place on that fateful day.
... As Vivek says, "I warn you, if you have young children, please do send them to bed, there's some footage you might find offensive, I know I do... It features men in suits!"

Dear World,
It is with a huge amount of sadness that we announce Cable has closed with immediate effect.
We have been forced to close following two years of ongoing legal battles with Network Rail, who took possession of the venue this morning with an entry order, putting us out of business and leaving our 70 staff without jobs. This is due to them allegedly requiring the space back for the redevelopment of London Bridge station. It is an utterly devastating blow to what is a much loved, hugely successful, well respected music venue and media business.
This is not only a huge loss to the loyal fans and staff of Cable, but to London's clubbing community as a whole. With enormous pride, we delivered the very best talent in an environment that upheld the history of the early SE1 rave scene and supported as many musical styles as possible.
We are obviously devastated and still in shock by the news and know there will be questions. As you can appreciate, there is much work to be done and many arrangements to be made behind the scenes. A full press release will follow.
If you are presently a ticket holder for an event that was scheduled to take place at Cable, please do not worry - further information will follow in due course.
Our sincerest thanks,
The Cable Team x
