Dear Calabash customers, We are please to announce that we have had our re-rating inspection by the FSA with the local council. The outcome was a re-establishments of our 4*rating. We are very pleased with this outcome as it assured us that we have been able to upkeep the standard that we let slip. We would like to outline some of the changes we put in place in order to regain our 4*: - retraining all of our staff, including management on FSA standers and health and safety .... - Re-wiring of the building. - Deep clean of the entire building. - New kitchen equipment to comply with updated health and safety regulations - Regular cleaning arrangement and bi monthly deep cleaning services.
Although we are very happy that have been able to gain back our rating we are very aware that we have let our customers down and we need to rebuild trust. We still are very sorry for letting our customers down and We would implore our customers to please come into the restaurant, take a look around and speak to staff and management if further assurance is needed the changes that we put in place.

Dear all calabash customers,
Further to our statement yesterday, we wanted to provided a further explanation. We we’re inspected last October and standards of our restaurant was unsatisfactory. Before the inspection we held a rating for 4* which we were very proud of and something we have already strived to put back in place have already taken all the necessary measurements to re-gain. We are due an inspection again shortly which we will happily share the outcome to our loya...l customers as we are sure we will regain and maintain that high standard that we began with.
Being a small independent family run restaurant we don’t always have the funds to quickly make ready the changes and upgrade we would like in place- although this does not excuses us from letting the standards of our restaurant slip.
We welcome our customers to come into the restaurant, take a look around and speak to staff and management if further assurance is needed.
We are truly sorry for letting not only our customers down, but letting ourselves down.
We hope we can all move on from this, with all the changes we have put in place and the more to come, to re-establish ourselves as a restaurant where our customers feel special, safe and can enjoy our delicious food in a comfortable environment.

Dear all,
It may have come to your notice that we did not satisfy the standards required by the Restaurant Food Inspector when he inspected Calabash last October. Unfortunately we have had severe staff problems and as a result we allowed our high standards to slip. As you know we held a four star rating until recently. The Inspector made recommendations for improvement which were required to be done before the end of October 2018. We complied and the Inspector was happy when ...a visit was made immediately after the two week period in October. I can assure you that we have returned to the level expected and have the paper of satisfaction from the Inspector. Kindly accept our apologies for this hiccup and I hope we can depend on your custom.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! To celebrate a new year, and as we go into our 5th year of business it marks some changes for Calabash. New menu, new Instagram and after many years of asking, finally a website where you can make online reservations, view all the menus and all that good stuff. www.calabashcays.co.uk
As you will spot, in 2019 have a slightly different look and new food additions like our new vegetarian options and new desserts and cocktails! (We’ve been very busy these past c...ouple months!)
The new Instagram also so we can showcase the work of our amazing head chef, and our beautiful restaurant which is getting a new repaint and revamp in later January.
