Caporales San Simon Londres UK is a non-for profit Bolivian Folk Dance group founded in 2010 in London; our main aim is to spread, to promote the Culture and Folklore of Bolivia around the world through one of its most typical and popular Dances which is Caporales by participating in Parades, Carnivals, Festivals and Community performances around the UK, Europe, South /North America and to help those in need trough dancing.

Caporales is a high energetic dance which symbolises /depicts a foreman of the African slaves in the Colonial period in Bolivia and we would like to show this dance and resemble the atmosphere created every year in Bolivia in our renowned Oruro Carnival. Our costumes are very colourful; are handmade in Bolivia and brought from Bolivia and are very much appreciated, loved and praised by the public. Our costumes are changed every year.

Our Headquarter is in Cochabamba Bolivia which was founded in 1978, Caporales San Simon is not only a Bolivian Folk Dance group; it’s a worldwide Family group that have grown over the years whose branches are in Bolivia, Argentina, Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Virginia, New York, New England, Texas, London, Sweden, Italy, Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Bilbao and Paris. Although it is originally from Bolivia, we have members that were born in these countries too.

Our London branch participates in London New Years Day Parade, St Patrick’s day Parade, Hackney One Carnival, Northampton Carnival, Leicester Carnival, Ramsgate Carnival among other events abroad such as Tropical Carnival in Paris and Ghotenburg Cultural Festival to name a few and have won awards at some of these events.
