Huge thanks to The Evening Standard Magazine for this wonderful review. We are blushing 😍
"There’s no such thing as an ideal restaurant for me now: London’s too rammed with wildly different, equally brilliant globe-spanning places. But on the hottest day of the year, polishing off a home-made pastel de nata and a last glug of vinho, gorgeous Casa do Frango comes pretty close."

CdF cocktail bar, opening soon through a secret door at your favourite chicken place 🍸🍾

Our free range, juicy chicken is grilled over wood charcoal (never gas📛) by our pit master Lucidio Da Fonesca Monteiro, who moved from Faro, Portugal to London for this project.
It is then brushed with our signature piri piri, oregano or lemon & garlic glaze (lucidio’s very own secret recipe that has been passed down through generations) 👑

Nothing beats a cold Algarvian Gaspacho in this heat 🔥💧
You may be familiar with the Spanish gazpacho; the Portuguese version is similar and comes slightly spicy, garnished with freshly cut tomatoes, cucumber, extra virgin olive oil and toasted sourdough

Whilst a lot of bumph concepts are invading London’s culinary scene, this wee gem keeps to its promise. No nonsense, passion infused southern Portuguese philosophy struck through authentic food and drink that would make settling up and leaving as difficult as ending a Mediterranean holiday, were it not for the generous price points. From the gazpacho through to the Pastel de Nata - some of the best London has to offer - washed with white port spritzers and some excellent vino verde, surrounded by the aesthetic narrative of a warehouse eloquence that actually fits the food (rather than disturbs it), I’m finding it hard to think of anywhere opened in the last few months that has been so meticulously thought through with love, and has done so well to merge London’s style with the Algarve’s true taste buds. The guts to challenge the hegemony of mediocre Piri Piri will no doubt be rewarded by a grateful London, who are starting to give a great culinary culture the attention it deserves (beyond the overrated high street brand). Can’t wait to come back again!

What a nice little gem of a restaurant I came across last night in borough. I love my Portuguese cuisine so was really wowed by the authentic tastes and vibes of this place. The location is lovely and bright with high ceilings and rustic decor with plenty of old original features. It was also surprising cool and airy on such a warm muggy summers evening.

As for the food, the chicken was melt in your mouth and the rive that accompanied the dish was packed with flavours and texture. For those who like something on the wild side you should try their special home made hot sauce.

I, of course, had to finished off with one of their custard tarts that would give pastéis de Belem a run for their money!

This place will be definitely be loved from anyone that visits. Amazing space, food and service. What else would you need. Definitely coming back for more!!!

User

This place is the bomb! Outstanding food, friendly service and a breathtaking venue such as can only be found in London. Cant wait to go again!

User

This place is sick! What a venue - you could feel in a bar in La Habana. Food was great and felt the chicken is much better quality then what other restaurants offer. Strongly recommended their Vinho Verde - perfect for the summer. Can't wait for their speakeasy bar to open too.

Congratulations to the team for opening such a fantastic new restaurant.

User

The food is delicious! The service is so friendly and welcoming! The venue is epic and the staff are really good looking... what more can you ask!

User

Such a beautiful space, incredible food and really friendly, welcoming staff. I absolutely love this place! Can’t wait to go back again xx

User

So glad I found this place. Beautiful rustic decor and a light and airy resturant. welcoming staff and amazing food and drinks. We had a selection of starters and mains. Chicken piri piri, Salads, rice dishes and a lovely roasted cauliflower dish for the veggies. everything was amazing. Service was great and the staff were great. Oh and the pastéis de nata.... WOW :) Cant wait to go back

User

Really very good indeed. Such an amazing place to share a nice and pleasant meal with friends and family! Friendly and caring staff - a must in London!

User

Just giving 5 stars as the concept is very much what I have been looking in a restaurant in London so I was begging for it to be amazing.

Is not there quite yet but I believe it can, the service was a bit slow and confused, considering the amount of staff, again I forgive it given the restaurant is open for less than 2 weeks and teams take time to gel, but 12,5% svc charge at this stage is pretty absurd.

The rest of the meal had room for improvement but the chicken and montanheira salada was excellent.

I will return, hopefully many times as I love the concept.

Just around the corner from London Bridge

this bright and airy restaurant is relaxed

and fun. I started with a white port cocktail which I highly recommend.

Absolutely loved the succulent

chicken and delicious sides, transporting

me back to sun-drenched holidays in the Algarve. I can never get enough of this

type of food and plan to go back very

soon. Price for quality excellent!

User

It actually feels like you are abroad. Not only its internal decor but by sheer coincidence or providence, the apartment block across the road when you look out of the window is designed like pre WWII Lisbon architecture. Then there was one of the warmest welcomes in the history of welcomes, a great bar and some amazing food! We all had a great time and will have to go back again

User

If you like chicken you’ll LOVE Casa do Frango. I want to bottle up their homemade piri piri sauce and carry it around with me. Awesome for groups/sharing. Beautiful space. Can’t wait to go back!!!

User

Great venue with a relaxed atmosphere. The chicken was tender with crispy and flavorful skin. If you enjoy spicy flavours I would recommdend you try the freshly prepared piri piri sauce. Loved the African rice as well.

User
