Bournemouthtoday confirmed the season-long loan move of Chelseawinger and Ghanainternational Christian Atsu. The Black Star’s spell at Everton ended earlier this week and the newly-promoted side were quick to move for the former FC Porto man, confirming the deal on their official website on Friday. The midfielder endured a disappointing spell on Merseyside and apologised to Toffees fans on his Twitter account when his temporary deal at Goodison Park came to an end on Wednesda...y. The 23-year-old managed only one Premier League start for the Blues last season—featuring five times in the top flight in total—and failed to have the expected impact under Roberto Martinez. Despite arriving at the club accompanied by great expectations, a fan survey in theLiverpool Echorecently indicated that the vast majority of Everton fans had no desire to see the player at the club next season. While Atsu failed to demonstrate an aptitude for the EPL on Merseyside, he has received an immediate opportunity to make amends, but faces a very different campaign at Bournemouth. "It is a huge coup to us as a club that he was so keen to come here," said Cherries chief executive Neill Blake, speaking to BBC Sport "[Manager] Eddie Howe has got the team playing an exciting brand of football which has earned us plaudits nationwide. "I am confident that Christian will flourish under his watchful eye and amongst this talented group." The south-coast side are preparing for their first-ever season in England’s top division, having lifted the Championship title this term. The ex-FC Porto man—who spent his first season after moving to Chelsea on loan at Vitesse Arnham—is likely to be anticipating a relegation dogfight at the Goldsands Stadium over the 2015-16 campaign. Atsu was signed by Chelsea for a fee of £3.5 million in the summer of 2013, and while he has done little at club level since then to justify the fee, he was one of Ghana’s star men during their run to the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations final under Avram Grant. The Black Star will be unable to feature against his parent club Chelsea in the EPL this season.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho says his side are worthy Premier League champions, despite criticism from some quarters over the course of the season.... The 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge sealed Chelsea's fourth Premier League title and Mourinho's third with the club. Mourinho has previously spoken at length about criticism in the media of his players, most notably from Jamie Carragher and Graeme Souness, and aimed another dig following the weekend's celebrations. Asked whether the Premier League was an easy title to win, Mourinho responded: "No, it's easier to be a pundit. "To be a pundit you win every game, you don't lose matches as a pundit. It's a fantastic job really, maybe in 10 years' time it's my job - then I win every game. "Now as a manager I lose sometimes and it's a much more difficult job." Mourinho returned to Stamford Bridge from Real Madrid prior to the start of last season and has already claimed League Cup and Premier League silverware. "We do everything that a team wants, that's why we are champions," the Portuguese added. "We deserve so much to be champions, I think everyone knows that. Those that have a big face to say we don't deserve it are the ones that in my country we say 'the dogs bark and the caravan goes by'. "It's not more pressure it's just the understanding that when you go back to a place you had success before, you risk a little bit of your prestige and your history, I risked it. "But okay, we won again and I can say I won titles with Chelsea with two generations separated with two decades."

Chelseamanager Jose Mourinhohas insisted he does not see Arsenalcounterpart Arsene Wengeras a rival. The two managers have a history of sharing jibes, but the Portuguese insists that he sees no need to compete with the Gunners boss as he prepares his side to face their London rivals this weekend. "For me, he's not my rival," he told reporters. "I don't feel that. He's a manager of a big club in a city where I work and live with the same objectives. "Because of that, there i...s always a bit of rivalry, but I don't see Wenger as any different to the Atletico manager when I was with Real [Madrid]." Mourinho has gone 12 games unbeaten against Wenger, but he insists that he is "not proud" of his record against the Frenchman. "For me an achievement is to win tomorrow," he added. "It's not the other 12 matches that we played before against Arsenal. I don't look to this. I don't look to numbers. I don't look to what I did against this manager or that club." Chelsea can take a massive step towards the Premier League title with a win this weekend, and can move 13 points clear of the Gunners with a victory

Arsenalmidfielder Mesut Ozilis hoping Sunday's clash with Chelseawill be "something special" despite the one-sided nature of this season's Premier League title race. The Blues are 10 points clear of Arsene Wenger's side at the top of the division with six games left to play. But Ozil maintains that there is a particular glamour to any fixture between the country's top two sides even if Arsenal's chances of winning the title are now only "theoretical". "We are in a great shape... and want to extend our run with a victory on Sunday," he toldSID. "Even if we only have a theoretical chance of winning the Premier League, the meeting of the two teams with the most points of the league is something special." Arsenal enter the clash at the Emirates Stadium on an eight-game winning run and have been the Premier League's form team in 2015, taking 33 points from 13 matches. Chelsea have collected 30 points in that period, however, and have not suffered defeat in the league since their last visit to north London - a 5-3 loss to Tottenham on January 1.

Chelseaforward Eden Hazardis not going anywhere, manager Jose Mourinhohas warned Real Madrid. The Belgium international has lit up the Premier League this season, recording 18 goals and 10 assists to help the Blues close in on securing the title. Madrid Castilla coach Zinedine Zidane confessed on Wednesday that he is "keeping an eye" on Hazard's progressat Stamford Bridge but Mourinho is adamant that his star man will not have his head turned. The Portuguese told reporters:... "He just signed a new contract. We didn't put a gun to his head. "He likes Chelsea, he likes the team, he likes the league. He made a commitment to the future of the team by signing a very good contract. I don't think he's interested in going. I don't care [about Zidane's comments]." Asked how much Hazard is worth, Mourinho replied: "That's a good question. I have my idea about it."

Paul Scholes believes Eden Hazardneeds to improve his goalscoring record if he is to be considered one of the best players in the world. The Belgium international has been pivotal in Chelsea’s Premier League title challenge this season with 13 goals and eight assists in 32 appearances. But Scholes has questioned whether Hazard has the "hunger" to keep scoring goals, and says he must become more ruthless if he wants to challenge Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi for the crown... of the world's best. “One thing I do wonder with Hazard is whether he has that hunger to score goals that you see in Ronaldo, Messi and [Luis] Suarez,” Scholes wrote inThe Independent. “Those are players who have a ferocious appetite to put the ball in the net. They’re unstoppable. Hazard seems to me to be a relatively gentle soul. One who is just as happy skipping past a couple of opponents and putting it on a plate for a team-mate. “He does that very well, and I have no doubt he will deserve his accolade at the PFA awards. Playing the way he does, under pressure to score goals and make them, is not easy and he has been a big part of Chelsea’s success. But in this modern age, if he wishes to challenge the achievements of Messi and Ronaldo then he will have to prove that he can match their relentless desire to score goals.” However, despite his criticisms, Scholes says he would vote for Hazard to win the PFA Player of the Year award ahead of Tottenham striker Harry Kane. Kane has enjoyed a stellar breakthrough campaign at White Hart Lane and has found the net 30 times in all competitions so far this term. Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea, Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez, Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho and Chelsea striker Diego Costa are also named on the PFA's shortlist. “My vote would go to Eden Hazard,” Scholes added. “I prefer the attacking footballers – you wouldn’t expect me to say otherwise – and Hazard has been the best in that regard. "Not streets ahead of the likes of Harry Kane, and nothing like the wow-factor of those two big players at Barcelona and Real Madrid. But Hazard has made the difference in big games, like the one against Manchester United.”

Arsenalboss Arsene Wengerhas admitted he regrets allowing Cesc Fabregasto leave but has called on fans to respect the Chelseamidfielder on Sunday. The 27-year-old left the Emirates Stadium in 2011 for Barcelona but - after struggling to nail down a place in the first team - he returned to the Premier League last summer under Jose Mourinho's tutelage. Wenger has in the past suggested he doesn't wish he had tried to swoop for Fabregas rather than allow the Blues, who are on the... verge of becoming English champions, to take the Spaniard but he has not conceded he wish he had not sold him in the first place. "My regret is him leaving here," the Frenchman told reporters. "But I want every player to be respected." Wenger also suggested he expects star attacker Alexis Sanchez to give the likes of Eden Hazard, Harry Kan, Diego Costa, David de Gea and Philippe Coutinho a run for their money in the Player of the Year awards. "It's Alexis's first season so he will compete very closely with Hazard for Player of the Year," Wenger added. Alexis has enjoyed a superb debut season at the Emirates following his €40 million move from Barcelona, scoring 22 goals in all competitions and providing 11 assists, while Hazard has sparkled for Chelsea, hitting 18 goals and laying on 14 assists.

Chelseamidfielder Oscarsays the Premier League title is just the beginning for Jose Mourinho’s side as the Blues close in on a first crown since 2010. A 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday saw Chelsea extend their lead at the top of the table to 10 points with just six games remaining. Wins over Arsenal and Leicester in their next two games will be enough to crown Chelsea champions and, Oscar admits, could start a period of Premier League domina...nce for the Blues. “Hopefully yes. This squad is really young and we've been playing together for a long time,” he toldGoal. “We are improving as the time goes by. This is good for the players and for the club. We know each others’ movements on the pitch." Chelsea travel to the Emirates next where they will face an Arsenal side unbeaten in the Premier League since February, and Oscar is expecting a tough test against the Gunners. “We know we are very close to the title but there are some challenges ahead,” he added. “If we manage to lift this trophy and keep this level of performances we certainly will do some other good seasons like this one. "Arsenal have improved a lot. They have won almost every match they played recently. So we know they are a real threat. The good think is we've been doing well and we know that we are up to any challenge."

Manchester Unitedare facing a defensive crisis for Saturday's trip to Chelsea, with Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind and Michael Carrick all missing through injury. Jonny Evans is still suspended for the crunch clash at Stamford Bridge meaning Chris Smalling and youngster Paddy McNair are the only recognisable first-team centre-backs available to Louis van Gaal. Fit again Luke Shaw is likely to replace Blind at left-back while Van Gaal has admitted he could utilise Wayne ...Rooney in a holding midfield role as he shuffles the pack to cope with the absence of Carrick. "It is the worst scenario," Van Gaal toldMUTV. "Marcos and Phil can both play left central defender, and Jonny Evans is also suspended so I do not have many choices. "Daley Blind and Michael Carrick could playing holding midfield player and I do not have another option. It is a puzzle." He added: "Shaw I think is training for a lot of weeks already so he can play. Van Persie is another story - this is the first week he has trained with us, with the first team, but maybe we have to think about him." The England midfielder has been one of the club's stand out performers in the 2014-15 campaign although was forced off towards the end of United's derby win over Manchester City with a calf injury. Van Gaal insists the disruption his planning for the meeting with Jose Mourinho's league leaders are "all part of life in football" but will come as a bitter blow as the Red Devils looked to cut the gap at the top. "They are all from the game against City," the manager added. "Blind played on because he always wants to, but the tackle from Kompany was the reason. Jones injured himself in the second half. "Rojo, he was complaining [of a knock] after the match, and Carrick was also off. We had a big hope that Blind and Jones could reach this game but they can't."
