Vintage roses are my absolute favourite so I really wanted to create a wedding cake design with roses as the star of the show. My aim was to create a fluid design that captures movement, almost as if it were a snapshot in time, catching the petals just as they fall.
The colour palette is soft yet bold with the peek of navy blue crackle on the bottom tier giving the design texture and interest and the draped material on the middle tier giving it a soft romantic feel. *FANGIRL FRIDAY! * How on earth did we get to friday so quickly?! Ah well, it just means that I get to share another of my crushes with you...
I'm inspired by a whole host of amazing cake artists across the globe that blow my mind with their creations. This week it's the INCREDIBLE (this needs to be in caps!) and talented @maggieaustincake. Just look at these sugar flowers (yes they're made of sugar!), like an oil painting right? How she manages to convey such soft romantic colours and don't get me started on the delicacy of those petals... and the composition! I could clearly go on but for now I shall just leave this here for your viewing pleasure. 😊🙌

*HELLO!*
So, in a change to my usual broadcasts, I thought it was about time I showed my face and introduced myself.
I'm Charlene and this is how you'll usually find me; togged up in an apron (and fluffy slippers that are safely hidden from view!) with a cup of tea and my beloved KitchenAid always close at hand.
... I love baking (obvs!), spending time with family and friends, cuddling my cat, shopping for home stuff (that I now have no room for), watching Friends on repeat, cosy pubs with open fires and any occasion when I get to eat! I try to balance out the eating with circuits and weight training which I have grown to love (I'm a reformed gym phobe!) 💪
I've been running my cake business for just over a year now and it has been a year of discovery and A LOT of learning.
I can't wait for the year ahead to build the business and create more beautiful cakes and generally slay it like a boss. Bring it on! 😍

The start of a shiny fresh new week, full of opportunity and promise! This week I will be cracking on with a mix of admin, cake making and decorating a new range of dummy cakes for the upcoming year. Oh and I'll be squeezing in a trip to the cinema and dinner in London with the hubster. All in all a busy week ahead! How are you going to slay the week?!

Amazing Christmas cake. We didn't want conventional Christmas cake so we ordered a spiced carrot cake with a white chocolate ganache. It looked so beautiful it felt terrible to cut into it but the guilt didn't last long - it was moist and full of flavour. Practically perfect in every way! Thanks Charlene! X
