We have an annual ticket and pop in on a regular basis, never less than a 5 hour visit! Still not seen it all! My favourite, the spectacle bear and his lady , loving the islands to. Saw Emma and her son last visit- so cute! Won't be long before we are back there again! Hours of pleasure- an Xmas treat from our children, can't thank them enough! X

We Love Chester zoo, we had a lovely family day out here on Sunday I'm really pleased with how well the animals are treated and how much effort and care the zoo keepers put in you can certainly see its pays of as the animals look really healthy, clean and don't look like they are in distress like most other zoos I've visited! Best zoo I've been too

Updating the zoo constantly to help encourage many to visit Chester is fantastic, all ages will learn so much as time goes by.

Renovation is top priority along with the animals too.

I can't fault the zoo at all.

As a member & aim to stay a member for many years we visit often & would encourage anyone else too.

Keep up the amazing work all behind the scenes & workers of all grades.

This is by far the best Zoo in the country. Can't fault the value for money and being members in the past has also represented amazing value. It's been a few years since we had been to the zoo until last weekend but investment is apparent and the breeding programmes represent commitment to individual species. Age is not a deterrent to a fabulous day out.

The islands is an incredibly beautiful new area of the zoo. The boat trip was fabulous and with the mist surrounding you as you glide around it is very atmospheric. It was a crisp winter day but warm in the sun and there are plenty of places to warm up inside such as the monsoon forest.

The island are just amazing. We were lucky enough to see the tigers being fed and also the adorable sun bear eating his frozen sweet potatoes. Just too cute. His keeper was such a passionate caring dedicated girl, spending ages chatting to us about the great care that all the animals are given at Chester. Some of those animals have been rescued from cruelty and certain death so I for one know for sure Chester Zoo has amazing ethics and care about each and every animal. Fabulous day

Had a wonderful day. Love the islands and saw all the animals that are housed there. Love the zoo and all it's conservation effects. Yes it can be expensive, But when that expenses is used for conservation and the breeding that the zoo does...it is well worth every penny

Great place, great time, really interesting , nice to spend time with family there .

Great day out loved the island seems well thought out enjoyed the boat trip but glad I only had to wait a few minutes to get on seen signs saying how long from this point ie 45 mins or more noticed on each boat the front and back seats were not being used is there a problem with weight etc it could mean at least another four to six people could get in the boat which would dramatically bring the waiting time down . Also food and drink ridiculously priced especially if you have a few children with you I think I paid £2.20 or more for a bottle of oasis photos also expensive but this is some thing we seem to take for granted at these attractions which is a shame .but food and drink to one side we had a really nice day out

Fantastic day despite the rain, made even better by the volunteer staff at the enclosures who where very easy to talk too, fantastic views of the animals and love the addition of the Islands and the lazy river ride. Would recommend a visit to anyone - you don't have to have kids to visit this place its for all ages.

Beautifully displayed but very few animals! That's why we love coming tother zoo, to see animals not pretty boats and displays, although lovely, not want people necessarily want. Food court us a bit overpriced, 1 plate portions of curry, plenty for a main meal on its own not a snack! Also VERY disappointed that no Gluten Free options, not even plain chicken. Kids need Gluten free too! The zoo is years behind other tourist attractions in their menus and allergies!

As always a 5* trip, we are members & visit atleast twice a month if not more! Whilst an annual pass may seem expensive it does make for a cheaper day out if you go often! Whether passing after doing some shopping, visiting family or for a full day! Currently heavily pregnant so couldn't face walking too far but we had to see the new baby elephant . My favourites keep up the excellent work Chester Zoo & a very Merry Christmas to you all x

Really enjoyed it, kids enjoyed it. Apart from the monorail not working for most of the day only got one go on it. And as for the islands really disappointing didn't see any animals and the boat ride broke down so we never got to experience it. Food was too expensive, we spent the best part of £300 all together so not a cheap day at all. But my kids enjoyed it and that's all that matters

First time to the Islands, lovely surprise. Bit of a drizzly day yesterday but on the lazy river boat trip, the sun came out & was gloriously warm.

The rest of the zoo was wonderful, as always.

Very enjoyable full day out, not only for Easter Sunday but my birthday as well.

Wonderful staff made the day, thank you.

Brilliant day out just found the whole map thing and lack of sign posts difficult to understand were exactly we were and the whole hype about the islands didn't live up to it went on the lazy boat trip only to see ducks nothing else other than that it's a great day out

Third time visiting the zoo islands and three times no animals on them, pity, it rained all day but kids enjoyed it, shame the lions weren't out either, that was the only animal my niece was desperate to see, will visit again but not on members day it was far too busy, especially with the rain.

User

Sorry to say, I know everyone loves this zoo but I just was Not very impressed with the islands or the zoo itself! Spent the whole day there and I could count in one hand how many animals I saw!! The islands, what a waste of money and time! No animals, the boat wasn't working, and the rest was just so not impressive! And the food is just too expensive! Insanely expensive! Especially after paying so much to get in the zoo itself! Not happy!

Having been to the Zoo many times throughout my life ( I used to live nearby) I was really impressed with the improvements to most areas. However the islands were the most disappointing part, no animals to be seen and it felt like too much attention and money spent on turning it into a theme park. The tigers which were what my daughter was desperate to see were nowhere in sight, it wouldn't have been beyond the wit of man to make elevated walkways similar to those around the cheetah enclosure so that visitors could get a better view!!!
