Chinese OPEN is an annual artist led expo established in 2013 / Year Of The Snake / by independent curators Cedric Christie & Vanya Balogh in collaboration with London based entrepreneur, art collector & patron Geoffrey Leong. This informal, happy, energetic one day event, situated inside the multi storey underground car park on infamous Gerrard Street in Chinatown is now an integral part of Chinese New Year celebrations, which play out across West End during February month with near to 300 000 visitors in attendance every year. Since the inception day of the very first Chinese OPEN, it has attracted some 10000 guests and featured 300 international artists on show. It is a unique day to celebrate, dance, warm up, join the community and well wish for all to ascend into a forthcoming animal spirit cycle.
