Had a lovely meal at Chiquitos in Leicester Square. Great staff and lovely food 😊

User

Fab food and drinks and wasn't to pricey did have to wait for table but not long

User

Very friendly staff. But meal was not so good. Small portions I would say for the high prices.

It was the mother in laws birthday who fancied coming to chiquito’s for her birthday dinner as she thoroughly enjoyed her dining experience the last time we brought her here.

The hostess seated us on a table in the middle of a very dark room. We asked if we could have a booth with better lighting that was to the side of the room, the hostess very abruptly pulling a horrible face said no, which we found rude.

Shortly after we were seated another family of four who was seated close to us asked if they could have different seating where the hostess gladly obliged to walking them to the back of the restaurant seating them to another table which had better lighting!

Why the hostess refused us and allowed the other family to change seating was a wonder to us.

With the very poor lighting we had to use our mobile phones to read the menu. We also noticed other tables were also having to use their mobile phones to read their menu.

This unfortunately spoilt our dining experience being seating in a poorly lighted room along with the rude attitude from the hostess.

Food and drink was acceptable, shame the customer service was appalling.

Hopefully this bad experience won’t put us off from returning.

User

An extremely busy restaurant that’s due to its location I expect. Friendly staff who were attentive even though they were stretched . Food good but we did have to wait quite a long time before it came to the table due to how busy the restaurant was .

User

Rather disappointing on this occasion. 45 minute sit for food which was cold and tasteless. Was not busy but one person talk g orders and one person bringing food to tables. Didn't charge us for our meals. Never had a bad meal there before now. Shame really

User

Been here few times and always really happy but yesterday wasn’t the case. We ordered the starter of nachos the bowl only half full no cheese what so ever yes spoon of sour cream tea spoon of guacamole. We ordered fajitas one classic chicken one steak. The chicken must have been from a chick not a chicken I had 5 little strips to fill the three tiny wraps. I have to say the portion sizes for the prices are very poor. Will not be coming back not worth £42 at all £20 at the most. There is another chain that you pay same price for same meals and get twice as much. We was still hungry. Such a shame as always came

I have just been in your resturant at leicester square and have to say it was a bad experiance.

First of all we waited around 10 minutes at the entrance before we were greeted. We then got taken to a table and sat next to some drama. A large family were having a debate with the manager about the quality of the food and then they all left.

We gave it the benefit of the doubt and waited as we had already ordered our drinks at this point.

Another couple got their food and as the manager placed it on the table some sauce splashed the customer's trousers which she was not happy about.

The manager then quickly asked us if we were ready to place our order. As we were really hungry we ordered our food and I have to say that I was also really disapointed with the meal. The chicken was very dry in places and the chips were so boring. It was edible but not enjoyable. Being so hungry me and my fiancee decided to finish the meal and leave quickly but we were still unable to do this.

A waiter came and we asked for the bill,he cleaned the table and went off and didnt come back for about 15 minutes. When I saw him again, he had plates of food for another table and bluntly told us he was coming back. It still took him another 5 mines to come back with our bill and he was also using his mobile. I find the whole experience appaling and unacceptable. Im not impressed with any part of this experience and the customer service and food was very bad!

User

The only good thing I can say on a positive note was the great location and Corona Beer. Food was very disappointing and small portions and a bad attempt to be called Mexican Food. If I hadn’t experienced Mexican Food before after living in California for 15 years and actually was used to eating the real stuff it may have been passable but was very disappointed. Rude staff, and expensive vile food. Would never eat here again or recommend to anyone.

User

Terrible ... there were 5 of us, 3 meals were ok. Mine was returned as it was cold. The 5th never arrived . Staff said it was on its way twice when asked. Side portions never arised Only one member of staff showed any interest . Need to focus on customers & not on till receipts .

Won’t be returning!

User

Service was poor, food was cold and what was on the menu was not on the dish. They cannot handle a table of ten! Never mind....

User

Overpriced and over-rated.

There is far better Mexican fair available in London. The fries were cold and chewy and the BBQ pulled pork burrito was bland and had hardly any pork in it. Burritos were excessively toasted too making them brittle so not easy to eat. Worst of all my 10 year old had a kids menu burger and chocolate brownie and has been up all night vomiting. Thanks for a crap meal and a poorly small person!

User

Hugely disappointing. My son's order was wrong. He then found a piece of cleaning roll in his dessert. No real apology just a 'Must have been when they were drying it'. The replacement was just set on the table as the sever passed by with a barely audible grunt of sorry. The toilets were disgusting. Stank of urine with paper all over the half working sinks.

Spoke to the guy taking my money who didn't seem to believe me about the toilets and said they were checked regularly. He waited until I had told him all the problems and taken my money before saying I should have said earlier for a reduction.

The manager when told simply repeated this statement.

For the money paid for a family of four we could have eaten in a much better restaurant.

Will NOT be back.

User

Food was awful, soggy and just a bowl of mush. Cocktails weren’t great either, and took way too long to get any servers attention for more drinks/getting the bill. I emailed and still haven’t received a reply after over a week now. Shocking really, expected much better than this :(

User

Daughter wanted to go here for a treat as we don’t have one local to us .. went to see if we could get a table got told it would be a couple minutes so we said that’s fine we went to bar to get a drink 10 min wait no one was serving .. eventually got a table took them ages to take our order .. when food did arrive it was missing half of what should of been on plate .. daughter’s veg was still frozen!!! Total waste of money and time ... such a shame

User

Awful. 2 hours for the main course to come. Then was cold and things missing from the plate. Sent it back. all 10 meals were disgusting. Walked out and went elsewhere. My daughters birthday as well!

User

Awful meal. Newly changed menu and we were very disappointed.

We have been going to Chiquitos Leicester Square for over 10 years. Always had great food and always came out of there was a serious 'food baby'. Not today. Ordered chilli prawns and jalapeño poppers for starter. The poppers were ok but we got 4 small ones. The prawns were tasty but unfortunately I had 5 teeny tiny baby shrimp drowned in sauce that were lost somewhere in the bowl.

Main courses ordered were double chicken enchiladas with sides and double chilli beef enchiladas again with sides. The sides were fine but cannot say the same for the enchiladas. It's fine if you like 'air' with your meal. Two tiny tortillas turned up on each plate with a little spoonful of sour cream. They were as flat as a pancake so opened them up to find that my 'double' chilli beef seemed to have shrunk and in fact had about a tablespoon of mixed filling of beef and rice. The same can be said for the chicken. Sadly I think there was a shortage of chicken as my husband had about 7 tiny pieces of chicken in his. And this was supposed to be a double!! We did not eat our mains. £16 pp for baby tortillas with a bit of filling in it is just not right.

After raising concerns with the waiter (who in fairness had mentioned they had a new menu and that there may be a delay in food coming out the kitchen - A looooooong delay) he asked a member of management to come and speak to us. Not once did anyone apologise for the fact we did not enjoy the meal or acknowledge our concerns. All that was mentioned was that things will happen like this due to the new menu. Well done... You have a new menu... but don't keep blaming the menu. The menu does not cook itself. Take some responsibility. We witnessed a couple of people complain when we were there. I'm gutted to write this as before I've always rated Chiquitos *5.
