Today marks the Armistice that ended First World war 100 years ago. Signed on November 11th at 5am by German and Allied generals it came into effect at 11am. On this hour we pause to remember those who lost their lives. This is a day to remember service men and women and civilians who tragically lost their lives in combat. The Remembrance poppy is inspired by the World War I poem "In Flanders Fields" and worn by many as a symbol of support and reflection. becoming one of the ...world's most recognized memorial symbols for soldiers who have died in conflict.
