Cibosano’s founder and Director, Totuccio Castiglione, was born in Mussomeli, Italy where he enjoyed a traditional rural upbringing. He developed his commercial skills at a very young age helping out in the family wood-fired bakery and assisting with the purchase of livestock from farms to be sold for organic meat.

In 1977 the family moved to England so his parents could pursue a business opportunity. Totuccio worked hard on brushing up his English language skills and after college started working in the family owned Italian restaurant where he soon rediscovered his passion for authentic Italian food.

In 1984 he started working as a sales executive for a subsidiary of a renowned Italian food producer. For 11 years he successfully developed a portfolio of retail and wholesale customers selling charcuterie products, cheeses and other Italian specialities from some of the most prestigious brands in the trade. For the following 8 years he was responsible for developing other brands as UK exclusive agent for Italian manufacturers supplying major traders in Great Britain.

In 2003 there was the need to found a UK base to stock products locally so Cibosano Ltd was founded, importing quality Italian food products and supplying them to wholesalers, high quality delicatessens and restaurants. Meanwhile, his son Antonio joined the company as logistical and sales support.

In 2007 we relocated to Elstree in Hertfordshire from where, with the help of a first-class professional team, we offer a wide range of chilled and ambient Italian fine foods.

Our mission is to provide customers with the highest quality products available on the Italian market and, given our Italian background and experience, we have developed strong and preferential relationships with our hand-picked producers. This ensures that not only do we get competitive rates but also an incredibly wide selection of goods suitable for both the general UK market and our niche customers.

Furthermore, thanks to our logistics network, we are able to supply not only the biggest chains but also the smallest point of sale; always guaranteeing freshness and punctuality.

In the last few years we have spent a lot of time scouring the Italian market for small but accomplished artisan producers in order to provide our customers with high quality products not readily available on the market. In so doing we have significantly extended our range of products enabling Cibosano to supply goods never seen before in the UK and satisfying the requests of even our most demanding customers!
