Stayed in the London hostel and I've had a blast. We stayed in one of the cells and it was amazing.

Great location, friendly staff and the whole building is super clean. The building is very secure and staff are always present. With the added bonus of an onsite bar (which is fantastic) I wouldn't book anywhere else. Highly recommended.

Stayed in clink 78,2 nights ago,an old courthouse,(for 1 night),stopover on way back to scotland not far from kings cross station,London. Have to admit, was a bit wary, never having stayed in a hostel before, but was assured by my daughter it would be "ok". It was MORE than "ok". We stayed in a 6 bed room,(5 off us), basic but, comfy clean beds/bedding,with lockups for each bed,(on the fifth floor, lift to all floors), hot showers, clean loos. TV room, kitchen, you could cook your own food, vending machines with drinks ect, quiet room with lap top or books to browse through, games area, and bar. For an extra £2 you got breakfast which was well worth the £2,and more!!! The staff were more than helpful,(Elle, was on reception when we arrived, thank you elle), every member of staff friendly and smiley.,made us feel very welcome. THANK YOU ALL, would definately stay again. (Have to admit, the fact that joe strummer appeared on trial there, way back in the day,,made my day)

User

Next wednesday I go with Carmen :) Really looking forward to go

User

Loved it! Thanks for this adventure. Greetings to the bar personal. ;)

User

It's a modern, well designed hostel with very helpful und cheery staff which always tries to help you out. Besides I really enjoyed the breakfast and the clink bar! The DJ played nice music and there is a great casual atmosphere. The breakfast includes toast, coffees, milk, cereals, teas, cheese, fruits, jam, honey, yogurt- everything you need! The rooms are quite big for hostels and clean as well and the best thing: they are warm and have soooo comfy beds. I can strongly recommend it to everyone who is looking for a well located and clean hostel.

User

I went to ClinkNOORD at Amsterdam

Nice young hostel, I recommend it, I went to this hostel with school, so we were a lot of people !

The reception is good and the staff very friendly, excepting some people when you're trying to speak in Dutch, they answer you in English.

I was in a bedroom of 4, and all was clean ! But the extras,as toilet and bathroom were in the bedroom. The bathroom, there's only a shower. Clean too,but a bit more of space could be more appreciable

About the bed, it was really comfortable, nothing to say about it. About equipments, just a bit above your bed, you have an electrical outlet, a lamp with LEDs, and 2 USB ports ! About the view from our bedroom, we had a nice view on a garage with cars

About the bar and restaurant, the bar is a bit expensive (€2.70 for a Coke 20cl, and you can buy cheaper a can of 33cl for €2).

The restaurant is delicious, I ordered Tagliatelle Carbonara, and it was €7.50 I think. I had echoes about the pizzas that were between €8 et €9 and were delicious too.The breakfast is self-service, but there's the quality too !

Tip : At the reception, you can buy a tea for €3 and a coffee for €1 !

About extras ;

They were different places were you can spend your time in : Billiard, Air Hockey, Ping-pong and Beer pong (18+)

Billiard and Air Hockey are €2/game, Ping-pong and I think also Beer Pong, you only need to give your ID Card, and they give you the balls etc.

And if you speak a bit of Dutch or English, there's a little library, where you could find your happiness !

I had a nice evening in this young hostel and it was great :D

I liked the hostel even if the costs of the drinks were a bit expensive

See you soon ClinkNOORD !

User

I stayed in hostel for one night. Enjoyed very much. Very clean, good location, and the staff is very polite and gentle.

Stayed in the winter time, but inside the temperature was pleasant.

Comparing with another hostel I give 5 stars.

I gained a free drink for my first time in hostel Lol. Amazing.

User

I stayed at their location in Amsterdam and it has been by far the best hostel I've ever stayed at. I was there for about a week with my mom and brother in a 4 bedroom with another person.

Lockers: Great! They have lockers in the rooms if you're rooming with strangers and don't want to leave your things out. They also have lockers by the reception desk so you can leave your things there after you check out and before you check in; great if you still want to walk around the city and don't want to carry your luggage around with you if you have a late flight.

Showers/restrooms: My room had 2 separate rooms, one shower room with a sink and one with a toilet and sink, I really liked this since I could still get dressed and not worry about having my roommate walk in on me. It was also great and very functional for getting ready in the morning

Beds: The bunk beds were really comfortable. The bottom bunk had enough head space to sit up in (I'm 5'10), the pillows were super fluffy and the duvets were very comfortable, sad to say but they were much fluffier than the ones I have at home. Each bunk also has it's own charger so you can charge your phone and other electronics in your own bed.

Lounge: Super hip and casual, I've never seen anything like it before and loved it! Also played great music (most of the time)

Kitchen: They had stoves, microwaves and guest fridges for you to store your things in. Personally I find it much cheaper to do a bit of grocery shopping and make my own food instead of eating out 3 times a day. I was super happy that they were able to provide a full kitchen. Clink's kitchen was very nice and always clean.

Overall cleanliness: We found a cup in our bed that was left by the last guest and there were some hairs on the sheets... however this didn't turn me off from Clink because I've seen hotels like the Hilton slip on this as well.

Staff: Very friendly and knowledgable. I loved that almost every staff member was multilingual.

Location: Yes, you do have to take the ferry to the central station... but it is free and the hostel is only about a 4 minute walk from the dock and the ferry ride is about 3 mins max. I love that it's so close to downtown but still in a quiet area.

First night I was there I told my friends about it and recommended it to them. Will definitely be coming back and wished we checked out the location in London (especially since the Hostel I'm staying doesn't compare)

User

Clink amsterdamn, I just wanted to thank u guys... my first hostel experience and u guys rocked it... the staff were extremely friendly.. I would definitely come back next time I’m in amsterdamn..the quiet location, the free ferry to get to centrall station.. thanks again.... Ryan..

User

At the London one everything was fantastic other then there not been enough plug sockets for the people that needed to use them. Was in a room with 12 other people and was only 2 plug sockets. I'll leave it to your imagination on how that went down. The Amsterdam one you guys rock! Would defo stay with you again!

User

Stayed at Clink78 in London. It's a good location, but the room in kinda small. If you are trying to use your locker and there's anybody else in the room you just can't. They should have more plugs. The ones they had is too far from the middle bunks. People there do not socialize with others. Well, it's a ok hostel.

User

I have stayed at the clink several times in London and on this visit I felt a little disappointed that after an indecent with another guest in the canteen trying to get myself to take drugs which we did not want any part of we reported to the staff and the man at the desk shrugged it off and bragged there is a lot of drugs here I’m sorry but you have a policy on alcohol being brought on site and being costumed on the premises which you enforce but drugs !!!!! Illegal and illicit staff don’t care considering while the clink is in the uk it is against the law and o think you need to retrain your staff

User

We are staying in a 12 bed room (it's January):

The room: we got clean bed linen, so that's okay. Unfortunately the room is very dark and cold.

Bathroom: soap and toilette paper is always there and the shower is ok. I onlzly missed papers for after washing hands.

Staff: nice and helpful

Breakfast: ok

Location: very good! You have the picadally line nearby, form where you can get to there centre and also to the airport

Now we will test the bar :)

User

First night here... definitely not returning and looking for another hostal tomorrow, room super small (beds literally crammed together) , bed lights don’t work, sockets don’t work, the room is a sauna with a little window (and a mean little) to ventilate the air. Not that clean (I know is a hostal but I have stayed in a lot of hostels around the world and this one is below average). The only reason I am giving it 2 stars is because of location, very near to king cross (walkable distance). Don’t recommend!

User

We stay at Clink Hostel in Netherland. On 27th June of this year. We stay in a room only my friends an I. And the last day (the day before we have to leave) we go out, and when we came back to the room, all our money was stolen. From ours bag. And we were only 4 friends at the room. We went to the police but nothing happened! Fucking bastards!

LE PALACE OF INJUSTICE... jejejjejejej :-D

Private prisons were very lucrative businesses in the past as now as well

If you are an anarchist artist not to enter this place, then they might worship you and invite you as a guest there, otherwise they would not be able to capture you. A palace of justice for those who do not feel confined because they have been forced to flee ... "Justice" is just for some privileged people who with muscles offended a boy's blood.

"The prisoner lives in the town of Camden selling the revolution

The prisoner fills the search arm with self-disillusion

I do not want to be the prisoner..."

Definitely a joke of a place not going back again and would not recommend it

User

I want to start by saying I’ve stayed in 20+ hostels, three others in London within this price range. I booked clink78 for 3 nights and left after one, which I’ve never done in any hostel or hotel anywhere in the world. Arrived late, got to my room which was a 4 person room, literally the size of the two bunk beds pushed together which was boiling hot in he end of February, had a window that doesn't close properly letting moisture and cold wind in right into my bed. It also smelled of mould and mildew. The lockers are small but functional. There is no real room for luggage anywhere. With a top bunk you have no no outlet to charge any devices, I woke up and had to sit in a common area for a few hours just to charge my phone. If you have any height to you, you won’t be able to sit up on your bed, and if you’re claustrophobic at all, you’re in for trouble. The toilet was filthy when I went to use it.

When I left and tried to voice my concerns and why I was leaving I got a snarky "that's your choice" from reception, they clearly don't care about their guests or reputation.

User

Definitely wouldn’t recommend the hostel Clink78 in London to anyone. The staff were very aggressive towards me which made me feel unsafe, telling me to calm down when I simply just questioned why I wasn’t allowed to charge my phone. They would come into the room and clean but afterwards turn the light off and leave you in the dark when trying to get ready, but there is one window.. The rooms were so cramped there was literally nowhere to put my bags, therefore the tiny floor space we have was taken up by bags. There was no proper lockers at all so very unprotected. The showers were so hot you were basically burning your skin to clean and you had to continue to press the button every 5 seconds, and I could barely fit in the toilets. Don’t waste your money here.
