My name is Catherine Little and I am currently in my second seat (Restructuring & Insolvency) of my Training Contract at CMS. I was born and schooled in France to British parents - I am completely bilingual an...d, as a result, chose to study for Exeter's English Law and French Law degree (which includes an EU Law Masters).
I applied for the Vacation Scheme at CMS as the firm combines outstanding brand strength, technical excellence and career opportunities with an appealingly European outlook. I was granted a place on the 2016 Vacation Scheme, where I realised that it is the culture of an industry, and, precisely, of the firm within that industry, that define the experience of those pursuing a career within it. While cultures vary significantly from firm to firm, I concluded that CMS’s challenging, supportive and collegiate working environment would allow me to reach my full potential. CMS is a fun place to work, surrounded by friendly and likeminded people!
I would recommend getting to know as many firms as you can by attending events and talking to the trainees. This will help in finding the right fit for you and in making informed decisions when submitting those applications!

We had a fantastic evening at the Legal Cheek awards last night and delighted to have won the award for the best law firm for technology!

Today we were delighted to host 100 year 12&13 students at our Cannon Place office for a Spring Skills Session workshop. Thank you to the KCL Pro Bono Society for working alongside us. We hope you all enjoyed the day ⭐️☺️

As our trainee induction comes to an end, we put on our trainers and headed to Asda to take part in a supermarket challenge for the Community Food Enterprise. We purchased staple food items, sorted, weighed and packed for today’s mobile food bank. CFE is a great charity who works with organisations throughout East London redistributing surplus food to alleviate food poverty. After that we headed to an Escape Room for a bit of team building!
