A successful evening for COLCHESTER ABC at the Sudbury show today • • First up was Aaron Monks. In a typical Monks display of boxing, with fast combinations and movement from head to body •... • Following that was Charlie Lock. Charlie showed some grit and determination in his skills bout, pushing the pace against a game opponent in order to land sharp combinations • • Finishing up in our only bout of the day was Blake Marshall, facing an old foe in the home boy. Blake had a hard start in the first round, letting his opponent push him back to corners while he tried to land counter punches. Coming out in the second, Blake turned the tide of the bout. Pushing the home body back, Blake started working on the inside, landing sharp bent arms shots to work his opponent. The tempo was high throughout the final two rounds, but Blake’s work proved to be the better and he delivered an 8 count in the final round. Charlie Jones delivers the win tonight for COLCHESTER ABC! • • Charlie Jones boxed an old foe tonight on Harwich BC’s home show . The home boy came out quickly in the first round with a strong barrage of shots, however Charlie stayed cool and calm, delivering sharp concise combinations to quickly turn the tide of the round. The pace continued through the following rounds, with both boxers digging deep to give the crowd a tough and well fought contest. •... • After sticking to his game plan and keeping his cool throughout the bout, Charlie Jones managed to secure the unanimous victory for COLCHESTER ABC. Mixed fortunes this afternoon for the COLCHESTER ABC boxers. • First up was Blake Marshall, who faced a game opponent from Sudbury. Blake used his defensive tactics to land eye catching counter punching and his footwork to create space in the ring. However as the bout continued, the Sudbury boy continued to press forwards. The judges favoured the aggressor and Blake lost on a 3-2 split decision. • Following Blake was fellow CABC boxer Charlie Jones. This time it was the Colchester boy was the aggressor. Charlie stalked his opponent from Stonebridge around the ring, letting loose sharp and accurately timed combinations to push his boy back to the corners. Charlie’s paced tactics paid off when he was awarded the Unanimous Victory by the judges. @ Cambridge, Cambridgeshire

COLCHESTER ABC Continue their season in style! Both Tommy Reid and James McLaren scooped the win representing Essex Vs London last night 🏆🏆 • First up was Tommy Reid who faced a tough opponent, travelling from West Ham. Despite his height disadvantage Tommy dictated the pace, using powerful counter combinations to push his opponent back to the ropes. Throughout the rounds Tommy’s fitness shon through as he was able to continue working at a fast pace and delivered an 8count i...n the final round. • Next up was James McLaren, facing another tricky opponent from Odessy ABC. After an even first round James had his game plan worked out for the second, taking the work to his opponent, delivering quick paced combinations to the head and body, pushing the work rate of the contest. After digging deep and giving it his all in the third round James was able to claim the decision • Up the CABC 👊🏻

The time and effort that the coaches put in is amazing. Don’t think people realise that everything they do is voluntary but they couldn’t do it with the family, friends and committee who help. The support is fantastic. Great club for anyone and everyone!

My son has been at the club for the last 6 years, he has made a lot of friends, as a family we think the club is excellent

My son has been at the club for a few years now. The coaches do such a fantastic job and everyone is made to feel welcome. I would highly recommend it.

Looks like you’re doing an awesome job Casey. Good numbers. Proud of you buddy. Wish I could come along but it would be a pretty expensive ticket. Gotta get inside out of a sandstorm.
