They came, they saw, they lifted the trophy!!
The Under 12 Blues added the EOS Trophy to their League title after coming from behind, no shock there, to beat Stanway Rovers Yellows 3-2.
With Sam and Steven missing, the boys would need to work hard as they only had the one sub.
... As always though they did it the hard way. 1-0 and then 2-1 down at half time, was this going to be their day?
With their never say die attitude, the boys never gave up and kept going till the final whistle with the game finishing 3-2 in their favour.
Goals from Luke, Ethan and Jack sealed the win and the trophy.
I can honestly say that at no point in the 2nd half did I think we would lose the game, that's how confident I am in the boys!!
A long old season but what a great one!! From front to back this side have showed fight, grit and determination, some fantastic football but most of all a never say die attitude.
They drive me mental but it's been an absolute pleasure to coach them throughout the season.
A well earned break now before preparation starts for next year.
Boys, and parents, it's been emotional and a great journey and I am the proudest coach in the world right now.
So this is it, the end of the 2018/2019 season. No idea what I'll do with myself the coming weeks but it certainly won't involve football!!
See you all at the presentation!!
One more thing before i sign off........... UP THE VILLA!!!!!!!!

The Under 12 Blues were AGAIN in action today in the EOS semi-final away to Rowhedge.
Seriously, when does the season end?
Anyway, having gone into the game without their no 1 keeper and his backup missing, it was asking an awful lot of the boys to come away with a win against a much improved opposition.
... Villa again started slowly and found themselves 1-0 after 5 mins due to some sloppy play and a lack of communication.
However it didn't take long to get back into it after Steven levelled. Some will say it was a cross, some will say it was a shot, I say it was a cross!! Sorry mate ¤żŻ
It was game on after that and the boys took a 3-1 lead thanks to goals from Jack and another from Jake which was his 35th of the season.
The boys let themselves down just before the break with some more poor defending allowing the Rowhedge forward to pass the ball into the back of the net.
So 3-2 at half time and the boys knew they could do better and they raised their game in the 2nd half.
Another excellent finish by Jack and a long range effort from Josh rounded off a 5-2 victory to secure their passage through to the final.
Who knows who they'll face and when the game will be but Villa have a final to look forward to which will round off an outstanding season for the boys.
Superb performances all over the pitch today. Jack was outstanding and has gradually come into his own at the end of the season, Jake for non stop running and pressuring the Rowhedge back line for the whole game and Steven for showing just the right amount of passion throughout the game without letting it boil over.
Last but certainly not least, Ronnie!! He was outstanding in goal today. A number of important saves and clearances showed that the team are in safe hands when he's between the sticks.
So one more game left in this long season for the boys. I think they're running out of steam but can they pull one last victory out the bag and secure the EOS Trophy? Well come along and find out for yourselves.
Watch this space for cup final details.

BREAKING NEWS - Under 8s Blues victorious in Grand Final!
A fantastic final between two top Under 8s teams took place earlier today at Wivenhoe Town. Our clubs Under 8s Blues team made it back to back Grand Final wins, coming away with a hard fought victory over their friends from Stanway Rovers Blues.
The boys didn't get off to the best of starts, finding themselves 3-0 down within the first 4 minutes. However, a brilliant hat-trick before half time from man of the match Ge...orge got the boys back into the game. The second half ebbed and flowed with the boys looking to take control, but Rovers kept battling all the way to the end. It took another 2 from George and a goal from Oscar to see the boys win an incredible game of football 6-5.
Big shout out to all nine of the boys in the squad, George, Oscar, Harry W, Shadai Jr, Oli, Reuben, Harry L, Joseph and Finlay. A big well done and thank you also goes to Craig and Dave, who have led the boys throughout most of the season in the absence of Coach Arron.
Following their exploits at Under 7s, winning all three Trophy Events and the Grand Final, the boys have done it again at Under 8s. Congratulations boys, everyone is very proud of you ŌÜĮŌÜĮŌÜĮŌÜĮŌÜĮ¤ż®¤ż®¤ż®¤ż®¤ż®¤ź│¤ ź│¤ź│¤ź│¤ź│¤ź░¤ź░¤ź░¤ź░¤ź░¤æŹ¤ æŹ¤æŹ¤æŹ¤æŹ¤Åå¤Åå¤Åå¤Åå¤Åå¤Åģ¤ Åģ¤Åģ¤Åģ¤Åģ

It was 2 games in 24 hours at The Home of Football for the Under 12 Blues this weekend.
After Tuesday's disappointing yet understandable performance, the boys looked to get their season, yes they're still playing, back on track.
Stanway Rovers were again the opponents but this time it was the Reds. Villa played some good football and found themselves 4-0 up at the break. The 2nd half they took their foot off the gas and the game ended up 5-1 to Villa.
... Onto this morning and the visit of Halstead. The last time these sides met, Villa ran riot in an 11-0 victory and they seemed to think todays game would be end a similar way.
Halstead had other ideas and went into the break leading 3-2.
Villa were not in the races and were lucky to be only 1 behind. They were told to forget the first half and show Halstead just why they the league champions and they did just that by running in 7 goals in the 2nd half to win the game 10-3.
A much better 2nd half from Villa who are looking to add the EOS Trophy to the league title.
Further fixtures are yet to be announced but there will be another semi final for the boys to look forward to and hopefully go one better than they did last time they made it to that stage of a cup.

Breaking News; Under 13s Blues crowned Open Cup Winners!!
Huge congratulations to our clubs Under 13s Blues who won the Open Cup this morning. In a repeat of last years final, the boys took on their friends at Boxted Lodgers in a closely fought end to end game. Like last year, the contest was decided by a single goal, this time in favour of the Villa boys! After a scramble in the area, George smashed the ball home and the boys saw the game out to secure the cup.
Having had a... run in all three cup competitions this season, the team found themselves well behind on league fixtures. Having already played twice this week, it wasn't looking like the ideal preparation for a cup final the team had worked so hard to reach, with several players carrying knocks, including a broken toe, sickness and dodgy knees. With busy weeks at school on top of the 3 games in 4 days they played just a few weeks ago, the team dug deep and played their hearts out to come away with the trophy.
The club and everyone involved with the team are super proud of every single one of the boys who wore the blue and black with pride this season and the boys fully deserved this victory. Well done to our friends at Boxted for reaching the Final yet again and helping us represent this age group with a top game of football.
To George, Ben, Yasso, Devon, Stefanos, Harvey K, Harvey O, Joe, Ollie, Ethan, Charlie, Marcus, Braydon and Caiden, you should all be very proud, we certainly are. ŌÜĮŌÜĮŌÜĮŌÜĮŌÜĮŌÜĮ
