Conlan School has high-quality partnerships with a large number of institutions and companies based in and around North Wales and Chester. Through these strong partnerships we are able to provide a very high-standard of work experience placements and project-based learning solutions for learners from a wide range of industries and sectors. This work based learning fits in well with Conlan School’s values and ethos around critical pedagogy and socio-cultural learning, learners are provoked to question and challenge and ultimately achieve a critical consciousness aiding them in becoming more active citizens. Work experience not only helps learners to become more independent, mature, confident, and improve language skills; it also provides opportunities such as internships, employment and increased career options. Students have the opportunity to be involved in some very exciting projects based around a huge range of sectors including; innovations in healthcare, innovations in smart homes, innovations in smart technology, and innovations in agriculture. We have strong relationships with universities and projects can often lead to a certificate from the University for work experience which awards leaners with 20 UK University credits, this translates to 10 ECTS in the EU.
