Copse Wood Lodge 8000 Description

Founded in 1965 by the members of Northwood Golf club this lodge has close associations with two Middlesex Golf Clubs. The lodge was named after the woods that lie behind the golf course as the was already a Northwood Lodge in existence.

Over the years the lodge has developed an excellent reputation for charitable fundraising becoming Double Grand Patrons of the Middlesex Province charitable festivals on two occasions (1998 and 2009) as well as donating money to many local and national charities. In recent times this has included the Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust and the Girl Guide Willow Tree Camp site in Harefield.

In 2007 Grim's Dyke Lodge 6186, which was founded by members of Grim's Dyke Golf Club in 1945 closed and the members of the lodge joined Copse Wood as is seemed to be a natural home for members of a golfing lodge.

The lodge holds family as a central part of it's activities and has regular social events for family of all ages including lunch clubs, bar-b-qs and canal boat trips. These are often held in conjunction with other lodges and chapters (Middlesex Century Lodge, Maguncor Lodge and Northwick Chapter).

As a golfing lodge it has supplied many players for the inter province golf matches organised by the Middlesex Masonic Sports Association as well as running its own games at both Nortwood and Grim's Dyke Golf clubs.
