Visited today with five 11-year-old girls and they had fantastic time! The pools and jakuzzis offered a nice opportunity to chill after going down the water slides N times in a row! Everyone was friendly and professional, from receptionist to water guards, everywhere was clean and it was not too crowded.

A great experience and five happy-tired kids at the end of it!

User

Never been before but our first experience was brilliant. Staff were friendly, changing area was clean. The pool was great, yes maybe a little crowded but this was expected with school holidays but didn't put me off. I have to say the slides were awesome, had to queue but they went down reasonably quick and we managed to have a go on all of them. Loved that they had a photographer for great family photos. We had the added bonus of the outdoor pool which was nice on a very warm day. Definitely would go back again.

User

Had a great afternoon at Coral Reef today, glad it hasnā€™t changed too much as I have great memories of it from when I was a child. My husband is a wheelchair user and the staff were so polite and helpful, unlocking the accessible changing room etc for us to use. They also gave some really good advice about which slides to try with my two year old daughter.

User

Went today for the first time since the refurb with relatives from out of the country. Really enjoyed ourselves and had a great time. The only issues we had were:

1). Of a technical nature, the slides were all running, however the systems within them were not. The photo system is a great idea, however my sister received a picture of a random couple even though at the time of entering her email it was clearly here. Also on the Poseidon slide we were greeted by ā€œHDMI Input not foundā€ in the main chamber bit. So might need a bit of technical jiggery to take a look at it.

2). The staff were extremely pleasant to deal with, however when we first arrived at reception, the staff on the desk were all having a chat with each other and not dealing with visitors until a manager walked past and they all sprung into action. I also noticed when a visitor felt unwell when exiting the slide one of the life guards went to deal with them in a great and professional way, the issue was that upon noticing this, majority of the other life guards went over too leaving a large amount of the pool unmanned. The first member of staff was doing a brilliant job and it seemed excessive for 5 other staff to attend aswell.

So all in all a great day out and would highly recommend! Definitely a 5 star centre if the above two smaller issues were sorted.

User

My son has swimming lessons here and he has improved lots in confidence. He also loves going swimming after his lesson and playing on the slides. I really hope to see some more improvements with refurbishment over the next few years just to keep it in line with entrance prices. I havenā€™t been on peak time yet the thought of all the queues are putting me off. I think that will continue to be a problem unless something is done about it, like opening slides maybe one other day of the week to relieve some pressure at weekends?

User

Enjoyed it. The new flumes were loved by the kids and the staff were friendly and helpful. Hope the price doesnā€™t go up any more though because itā€™s expensive for a family of five and weā€™d like to be able to come regularly rather than a once in a while treat.

User

We always have a good time here, kids are always worn out when we leave which is a bonus.

But the reception staff are rude every time we go. Iā€™ve worked in retail for nearly 10 years so I get how stressful it is managing lots of customers and having lots to do

When we arrived on Wednesday we paid and then asked if we could swap a Ā£2 coin for two Ā£1 coins for the lockers and she said ā€˜were not allowed to give changeā€™ and I said ā€˜we just need it for the lockerā€™ and she replied ā€˜I canā€™t be bothered to argueā€™ and just gave us the change.

I never said a word back as i was cautious of the queue. I would normally put this down to having an off day, but Iā€™m generally greeted by this girl every time we go and sheā€™s got an attitude every time.

It doesnā€™t spoil our day, just would be nice to be greeted with a smile sometimes!

User

Phoned ahead yesterday specifically to find out about today (inset day for my son) to be told it was off peak and that we could spend as long as we like swimming. Get there this morning after driving an hr to be charged Ā£30+ for 2 hours!! This is nowhere near worth the money for what you get. The only thing really upgraded is the slides. Far too busy for young children to freely swim. Very disappointed!!! Wonā€™t be back in a hurry.

Also, when explaining to staff they were uninterested.

However we would recommend the lovely people on the photo desk, fab pictures and well worth the money!!

User

Our first visit yesterday. Very busy, changing floors dirty and long queues for the slides. Also once you exit youā€™re not allowed back in, we left something for our baby in our car and had planned to get it after swimming and then go eat in the restaurant on seeing that we didnā€™t bother going up to the restaurant. Also a bit disappointed with the pirate ship, such a large space and only one little slide and the canons

User

Kids loved it- it was v v busy. The outdoor pool was closed. Seems strange in such a beautiful day. We travelled to and didnā€™t pre book. No queuing so all of that was good. There are just too many people allowed in at once. You canā€™t go anywhere without bumping or being kicked or knocked. Not amazing but not at all awful.

User

From other reviews, I don't believe Coral Reef will reply, but here's hoping.

My girlfriend and I have visited twice now, but that'll most likely be it. We travelled both times from West London and will now look elsewhere. Here's why,

- Sundays are so busy, but we do expect this.

- The queues for the slides are an absolute joke. They can easily take half an hour for 1 go and you're only there for 2 hours! We did just 1 slide when we visited first time and the slides are the reason we came! There's 5 slides but everybody is so mushed together, with no separation for 3 of the queues, so you can wait for ages when there wasn't any need to. A lifeguard walked down the queue to help solve this, once. How hard is it to place some coloured tape on the floor?! But then again, is there even really space for 5 queues?!

- Their ap is terrible. Not simple to use at all, and impossible to state how many you're booking for. Why can't I select how many I want?! I don't just want one! Deleted this ap the same day. We eventually made 2 separate bookings with it to avoid that hour long (or more) queue outside!! This may backfire bough and it may sell out after we've booked one, so we used 2 phones to book at the same time.

- A bit disheartened that the spa pool was as cold as it was, and we were told not was 4 degrees warmer than normal! Forget going it on a normal day then!!

- Hot tub in the spa is far too small, as this is where many people wish to be.

- Steam room was out of use and has been for 2 months apparently, seems a bit slow to fix?? Staff told us the spa was at a reduced price although this clearly doesn't occur online! and so we paid full price. Not happy.

Despite all of this, I still had fun (gotta stay positive!). The staff member inside the spa was lovely, kind and helpful. I'd only ever revisit during a school day, assuming it's far less busy.

User

Yesterday I visited this establishment with my 2 daughters and husband. As advised by the company, we booked online to avoid disappointment, we could only book in at 12:45 due to every other session being fully booked or with 1 ticket left! I was charged over Ā£60! This was a birthday treat for my daughter!

When I arrived the reception explained, when you book online they automatically add the account holder, so instead of selected paying for 2 adults, which is what I had selected on the how many tickets page, they added a third adult without any notice. On the confirmation it clearly showed 2 adults and 2 children too!

So my attention was brought to the price sign to find out how much I had been overcharged....there is only 1 price you can pay online Ā£16 an adult Ā£9 a child, these are not the right prices! It is Ā£11 an adult and Ā£8 a child! Again there is no option online, they inform you to book online and con you out of over Ā£20 in my case alone!

When I asked reception, they explained they have a lot of complaints regarding online bookings and have a pre printed slip to complain to.

The queues for the slides were half an hour for each slide, so we only went on two. The two we experienced were great.

High levels of chlorine in the pool.

Overall it is almost exactly the same as before just a few more slides. I do not recommend anyone booking online, as there was no queue on arrival, just a few people who were able to buy tickets and walk straight in.

User

Visited with my son on the 19/4/18. He was injured on a slide. Confirmed by the doctor the following day as a whiplash injury to his chest. Spoke to the duty manager the next day to let them know and asked them to add it to the accident book so it could be looked into. This type of injury would not be obvious straight away but would get worse the next day. I was promised a call back. Still haven't received it!

User

I took some children here for a birthday treat, I was greeted by the rudest cats arse of a receptionist, who was not only rude and offensive had the cheek to snatch my online booking out my hand. When I asked for the manager she did not get the manager and no one seems to know the managers name. I can only say the lifeguard in the pool was really helpful and great, BUT first impressions is the reception and this woman is not doing the place any favours.

User

1st visit since refurb. Definitely feels much cleaner and brighter. Staff are the let down. Very slow and unknowledgeable and there are no systems so most of our visit was spent queuing - for tickets, to use slides, in the cafe. Range of slides are good but we only managed 3 chutes in our 2 hour slot. Water is also very deep in main pool so keep little ones close to you!

User

Terrible idea selling out to Everyone Active. Really enjoyed our last trip in November, but here I am trying to find out very basic information, being directed to the ridiculous website that is all over the place and needing to sign up to book to do anything. Is parking not included when you don't book now? Also are there still arm bands to use as it kind of sounds like there arent? Do you still do parent and toddler deals? Tried calling to then end up on some long hold music with the worst tinny music ever which after about 10 minutes and a headache just cut me off. Such a shame when something good gets ruined.

User

Impossible to book online properly.... thatā€™s what happens when you let private companies take over public buildings... will let me book but not my 7 year old who is the reason I was going... and no I donā€™t want to book tennis at the grange, which is another of your sites... looks like we have another chessington/Thorpe Park.... here

User

First visit since the refurb like many others and I wonā€™t be going back. Hugely oversold with barely any space to move in the main pool and surrounding areas, only managed to get on the flumes twice before the queues were over 30 mins. Who wants to stand on a freezing cold staircase for that long for a less than 30 sec water slide? The only way to make this better is to stop letting so many people in. At Ā£45 odd for an adult and 3 children Iā€™m surprised they need to let as many people in? Really disappointed.

User

First visit since the refurb and we were very disappointed. Apart from the slides and the changing area nothing else seemed to have changed or been refreshed, repainted or even cleaned! Paint work on some of the older features was faded and peeling.

We didnā€™t get to go on the slides as there was at least a 40 minute wait which is a big chunk of the 2hr swim time. The wait time was compounded by the complete lack of a system for getting a raft - the lifeguards were just taking the odd raft over to the queue every now and then.

I was expecting great things given how long the pool was closed for, the investment made and the inflated entry price.

Really very disappointed.

So all in all a great day out and would highly recommend! Definitely a 5 star centre if the above two smaller issues were sorted.
