If you’re visiting Porthtowan, please note you must not park in/opposite the bus turning area (next to and opposite the village hall). Road markings have faded and Restricted Parking Zone signs are being ignored, meaning Beach Road got blocked for about 30-45 minutes when a double decker got stuck just now - thank goodness there wasn’t the need for emergency services to get through! #porthtowan #porthtowanpost #joyceduffin #cornwallcouncil #bbcspotlight #bbcradiocornwall

We're pleased to say that the very popular beachside Blue Bar, also Porthtowan Beach Café and newly re-opened Unicorn Inn (under new management) are all a moment's stroll away and are definitely worth visiting, also a new vegan/vegetarian kiosk/café (Little Lotus) has opened in Beach Road and comes highly recommended by our guests already. There are, of course, plenty of other lovely eateries to enjoy nearby (FYI, the village chippy is currently closed but the Unicorn Inn is serving takeaway fish and chips and there are several fab chippies nearby).
*DOG NOTE: unfortunately there are lots of Cornish beaches that have either a full or partial ban of dogs on beaches; Porthtowan's main beach has a no-dog policy from Easter Day until 1st Oct. However, don't worry as just across the road from our enclosed garden there is a river and large sandy dunes/green area where dogs are welcome and we also have pretty much immediate access to the stunning SW coastal path. The nearest all-year dog-friendly little beach is just a 4 mile drive up the coast at Trevaunance Cove (further along at Perranporth is a big one). A lot of our guests enjoy going to the huge Tehidy Country Park for big walks too. Rest assured we have lots of very happy repeat doggy visitors year on year during the beach restriction period who are very satisfied with their stay 😊 (please feel free to browse our TripAdvisor reviews!).

We have just come back from a lovely week staying in “Sea Echoes”. Everything you need is there topped off with sea views. We will definitely be returning. Thank you Katrina �

We all loved it and the beach was amazing we were there nearly every day and the sun set was lovely and relaxing �

We absolutely loved staying here was so relaxing and pretty! Lovely cottage everything you need beautiful scones and flowers when we arrived! Was made felt welcome by the owner will defiantly be returning one day! X

Such a beautiful apartment, in a great location with direct access to the beach and a play park. Right on the coast path too. Apartment is modern and cosy, we only travelled 3 miles after winning a competition but felt like a proper break away! Lovely homely touches and Katrina always there to help if need anything. With a shop/2 pubs and a cafe it's got everything you need - no mobile signal which was a positive for us but there is a pay phone and Internet available!

Lovely well kept and fantastic help with a wonderful surprise when we walked through the door :) well recommend to anyone

Lovely stay at Sea Echoes! Beautiful place and view, the house has everything you need and Katrina is a top host! Porthtowan is a very nice village and not to touristic. People are very friendly and warm. It was a perfect week and we hope we will return soon.

Lovely apartment, lovely place, amazing garden with lovely views, very peaceful, will be coming again.

Had our first stay here and it was amazing lovely flat and a lovely warm welcome. The beach was right on the doorstep and had beautiful views whilst eating our meals in the conservatory. After a hard day of building sand castles, rock pooling and crabbing we would get back to our own car park space, a nice warm flat and be able to relax and chill out and the beds were super comfy. We loved it that much we booked a weeks holiday for next year before we had even finished this one. Look forward to returning next year.

Had a fantastic break here,was greeted with Cornish cream tea and treats for our dogs....yes dogs are welcome.beautiful view of the sun set and stone throw away from local Inn called the Unicorn and local shop.very friendly people in Porthtowan.everything that we needed to make our stay comfortable was provided and the property was clean ,tidy and very homely and Katrina was on hand to cater for our needs.look forward to staying again.Thankyou
