On Thursday 18th October (this week) we will be celebrating the anniversary of the consecration of the church. In accordance with the Tradition of the Church, a Plenary Indulgence is available for you to apply to yourself or any soul in Purgatory. To gain this indulgence, all you need to do is come to Corpus Christi on Thursday, go to Confession, receive Holy Communion and pray for the intentions of the Holy Father by praying one Our Father and one Hail Mary. That may sound like rather a lot to do, but you have a few days after Thursday to get it all done for the Indulgence to apply. What a nice treat for the middle of October!

The Catholic Association of Performing Arts (CaAPA) invite all to their annual Advent Carol Service at Corpus Christi, Maiden Lane which will take place on Wednesday 5th December at 6:30pm, which will conclude with a period of Adoration and Benediction.
There will be a collection during the Carol Service to raise money for Tyburn Convent. There will also be a small reception of mulled wine and mince pies at the Club for Acts and Actors afterwards. Today is the one year anniversary of the death of Mgr. Augustine Hoey, obl OSB.. We will be offering a Requiem Mass for the repose of his soul at 1:05pm today . All are welcome to join us for this and pray for him, as he prayed for so many of us in life.

24th September is the Feast of Our Lady of Walsingham. Mass was celebrated in the Lady Chapel, which is dedicated to Our Lady of Walsingham. The Marian vestments worn were donated in memory of Msgr. Augustine Hoey, obl. OSB, who died almost one year ago at the age of 101. In his late 90s, he moved to Walsingham and lived there for some years, praying for the unity of Christians.

Today is the feast of Our Lady of Walsingham. Mass today is at 1:05pm in the Lady Chapel.
O Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God and our most gentle Queen and Mother, look down in mercy upon England thy "Dowry" and upon us all who greatly hope and trust in thee. By thee it was that Jesus our Saviour and our hope was given unto the world; and He has given thee to us that we might hope still more. Plead for us thy children, whom thou didst receive and accept at the foot of the Cross, O sorrowful Mother. Intercede for our separated brethren, that with us in the one true fold they may be united to the supreme Shepherd, the Vicar of thy Son. Pray for us all, dear Mother, that by faith fruitful in good works we may all deserve to see and praise God, together with thee, in our heavenly home. Amen.

On 20th September 2018, we commemorated the centenary of St Pio of Pietrelcina, better known as Padre Pio, receiving the visible Stigmata. The guest preacher was Fr Stephen Morrison, O.Praem. and after Mass the faithful had the opportunity to venerate a relic of St Pio - one of his famous mittens.

That is crucial point in my life. I love it.

I was delighted to see how the Church looks last time I was in London. When I was teaching at the City Lit, I used to attend the Extra-ordinary Form Mass on Monday evenings. I am convinced that this was an integral element in my spiritual life that nurtured my calling to the priesthood.

Have a special place in my heart for this lovely church and have visited many times over last 25 years, an oasis of spirituality amid the hustle and bustle of Covent Garden. Try to attend Latin Mass on Mondays whenever possible.

Corpus Christi Church is a sanctuary in the heart of the city and offers Catholic's an opportunity to experience the powerfull spiritual beauty of a traditional full Latin Mass. Praise God for this hidden gem!
