The grades for the start of Season 2019 (effective 1st March) have been published on our website for the Ministox, 1300 Stock Cars, Stock Rods, Prostocks and Prostock Basics. A reminder that the grades are based on average points scored and not total points scored during the grading period.

Happy St Andrews Day everyone - here's a salute to our Scottish Champions of 2018

Then and now - a photo of Central Park from 1932 with the stadium surrounded by the railways and then an up to date Drone shot of the track and ground. The old part of the Grandstand is part of the stand featured in the 86 year old photo - that stand having opened back in 1922!

All at the Racewall are extremely saddened to learn from our colleagues at HRP of the death of Michelle Freck, who had also previously been a Marshall/Clerk of the Course here at Cowdenbeath. We join those in extending our heartfelt condolences and thoughts to her family and friends at this most difficult of times. We would also reiterate the request in the post below to respect the privacy of Michelle’s family at this time.

Congratulations to 7 Gordon Moodie who successfully defended the National Series Championship yesterday evening following the final round at Belle Vue. Well done also to 647 Chris Burgoyne on his second place in the series, whilst recognition also to 16 Craig Wallace who has topped the National Points chart this season.

The Ministox Disco has become one of the social events on the Stock Car Calendar, and the culmination of the years fundraising events which sees all the proceeds plowed back into rewards for the young racers. This years event took place on Friday with ORCi Stock Rod racer Lee McGill presenting the awards to the drivers. Well done to Nicola and Laura for their hard work and organisation both for the Disco and throughout the year, we know it’s appreciated by the drivers and their teams.

Today was the MicroF2 fun day at the Racewall where the young drivers and their families enjoyed a number of activities and received awards - one particularly enjoyable activity was throwing a wet sponge at the Race Steward, Brian Hastie and Dave Borthwick being pelted good style by the youngsters - we expect to receive calls to have this activity at the forthcoming drivers meetings - huge thanks to Katie and Iain on the organisation along with all those who helped and attended. See samsonsPics for more photos.

Our website was updated earlier in the week with the end of season points tallies which saw 629 Euan Millar crowned the Racewall Track Champion in the F2s -congratulations Euan. 2019 is shaping up well. We have already received more driver licence registrations than the same point last year so a reminder that the 2019 licence application is in the drivers section of our website and any current adult ORCi licence holder who takes out a licence with us prior to 31st December will save 20% on the full price. Meanwhile the second draft of the 2019 fixtures has now been pieced together, the final dates subject to the confirmation of the fixtures for the National formulas such as F2, Saloons, NHR, Classics and Stock Rods over the next few weeks.

Season 2018 has now come to a close (we’re sorry that last nights meeting was badly affected by the weather) and we thank all those who have contributed to what has been a successful season here at the Racewall. To all the drivers and race teams who have raced with us, thank you for providing us with great entertainment and we look forward to seeing you back on track in 2019. We are fortunate to continue to enjoy a loyal fan base and we thank all the spectators for their atte...ndance and can assure you we have a great line up of fixtures planned for next season for you to enjoy which we are putting the finishing touches to. Finally, our meetings here could only take place with the help and hard work of our great Racewall team, both on track and behind the scenes. Whilst we now have a few months to recharge the batteries we will all be raring to go as the new season approaches. Until then we will keep you updated on the latest news and happenings - thanks again everyone - see you on January 6th 2019 for our New Year Meeting.

Our end of season Fireworks and F2 National Series round is just 15 minutes away from start time with the professional firework display (subject to wind speeds) at 915pm as we bring the curtain down on a fantastic season of racing at the Home of Scottish Stock Cars.

User

This evenings race meeting goes ahead with the forecast for improvement in the weather. First race 545pm. Unfortunately the family fun day and fireworks at Knockhill including the F2 and Stock Rod demonstration races has been postponed until tomorrow afternoon at 2pm Apologies to any of the drivers and fans planning on attending before heading to the Racewall tonight. See the Knockhill page for more info.

We bring the curtain down on season 2018 at the Racewall for your last Stock Car action here for 2 months until our winter meeting. The Brisca F2 National Series Round 9 tips the bill with race action from 545pm. Please note that the firework display is dependant on the weather conditions allowing for the safe launch of the fireworks. We use a professional company for our displays and therefore will be led by their judgement based on the wind speeds on the evening but at present all systems are go.

Thank you to all the drivers, spectators and officials who paid tribute to Anne Turner on Saturday evening. Jim Turner has included in this weeks Turners Talk the following message: “I, on behalf of the Turner family, would like to thank the GMP Staff and Officials for the magnificent tribute paid to my wife, Anne. It was truly awesome and unexpected and will long live as a cherished memory for us.
I would also like to thank my stock car family for all the well wishes and ki...ndness shown. It was much appreciated and made a weekend so much easier for us.
Thank you.”

Malcolm Lumsden Videos caught 246 Lee Wilsons big roll in the first 1300 Stock Car race of the weekend - DVDs of the weekend available from Malcolm via Facebook - he also sponsored the Cock O' the North race on the Sunday afternoon which saw 546 Charlie Folan receive £50 for leading at half distance, with £25 grade awards going to 176 Stu Wilson, 255 Graham Osbourne, 537 Jeff Cosans and 680 John Whyte, whilst the top three of 668, 631 and 246 took £75, £50 and £25 respectively. A huge thanks to Malcolm for his sponsorship.

What an absolute pleasure it was to spend this weekend watching the racing here with thrills and spills all the way. So well organised and no long gaps between races. The staff are really helpful and thoroughly enjoyed the commentary. Lovely to have toilet paper, water, soap and paper towels in the loos too. Great stadium for viewing too. Travelled all the way from Leeds and was well worth the visit. Cheers everyone

User

Well last night for first time at Cowdenbeath for myself and my son. We normally go other places but fancied a change. My Son is autistic and loves the Stock Cars. He had a brilliant time and we will definitely be back . My son is now wanting to get into stock car racing .

Was at the Racewall on Saturday night, haven't been in ages. Was a great night except for a few kids who spoilt it by jumping about and being a pest. There parents were at the other side of the stand not really bothered about them, easy seeing under 12's got in for free.... Kids weren't fussed about watching the cars either.... Won't put me off.. Well done Racewall a good night

User

Racing was brilliant both sat and sun but the food outlets over priced 3 pound for a cheese burger 2 pound for soup and 1 pound for a can well over priced will be taking my own food and drinks in future

User

Raced for many years in my youth. Been attending since Newtongrange shut down. Unfortunately due to other commitments I can't make it as much. I thank you very much for the live pit walks on Facebook as most weeks it's my only fix. Keep up the good work guys

User

One of THE best things I have been to in Years! Have never been before but without a shadow of a doubt will DEFINITELY go again.

Incredible experience. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it: D

User

I've been coming to Cowdenbeath since the late 70's/ 80's . We came last night with my brother and his three kids who are now living in Melbourne Australia and over here on holiday. My niece who's 10 fell and cut her hand. The first aid team were excellent and cleaned it all and put plaster on.

Thanks again for giving us all another great night of racing too!!

User

I love coming to the racewall with my family. I came last week for the banger world cup and ended up having to tell a group of young adults to go away as they were fighting and about nocked my 8 year old over, my partner got hit across the arm with a buckfast bottle. Safe to say my visit last week was ruined.

User

Gutted we only found out about Racewall in time for the last race day of the season. My 5 yr old loved it especially the minis. We’ll be back next year!

User

Great fun for all the family , plenty of thrills , it has been years since I've been but it still got it !! It was very busy and good to see it getting a good support , definitely recommend it for a Saturday night out , especially in the summer

User

Was there last night for the saloon Scottish championship. It was my first time back in years...my self and my family loved it, was a great night. Only downfall was the lack of catering on offer...not how I remembered it at all. The food was good but the fact we had to queue for almost an hour and missing out on the action wasn't great. I would of gave 5 stars if there was adequate catering.

User

Normally goto Banger World Cup when its on plenty of action great nights racing aswell. suggestion regards the Drivers Briefing why don't you have that in the Pits instead of middle of park then all drivers after briefing can get in there cars and be waiting to head out onto track to race that was the only disappointing thing the amount of time wasted possibly checking cars should start a lot earlier if the start time is 5pm check all cars from about 3pm

User

I have been going to the racing at Central Park since 1967, some 50 years ago.

Times have moved on from the single formula racing back then but, I have to say, the racing there is second to none.

The atmosphere at "big" meetings is electric and the drivers soak it up and produce remarkable racing.

Go along and see what you have been missing.

User

Well GMP you done it again . Made a complete farce out of a major final. Every person in this stadium seen Steve McCready win that final. Then too be demoted to third for just trying to stay on the track when being pushed sideways by number 10 is a disgrace. Sort it out GMP or drivers will stop coming to Cowdenbeath if they know they have no chance of winning. By the amounts of boos and lack of clapping I would think 99% of the stadium agreed

User

Racing was fantastic, the queue for food an drink on the back straight was ridiculous, only 2 serving on one of the busiest nights of the season, 25 minute wait for a hot drink, would never have happened when Lillian was in charge

User

Been to a lot of race tracks with F2 #41 and was so disappointed , no atmospher the facility's were rubbish . they should come to cowdie and see how to put a show on .There should be more big events there as the buzz in the place is electric . Thanks to all the drivers as well , some we love and some we don't !!! No names mentioned .

User

Banger World Cup was a bit of a let down this year. Normally a really hard hitting all action event this years show was poor in comparison to previous years. I would suggest a big prize pot for the most entertaining driver to encourage drivers into big hits. Let's not forget that Action is the attraction !!

User

Was at racewall tonight watching banger world cup, and what a poor show it was bangers are supposed to b a full contact sport and the name of the game is to wreck each other, yet vast majority of the cars left with barely a sratch on them, the wole night was a complete waste of money

User

Been going for years to this meeting , got to say lastnites BBA was pants !!! Pits were half empty with bangers and only one last chance race with 12 cars !!!! Come in GMP pull ya fingers out give the drivers some travel money maybe u mite get some more cars ...
