Will Brexit spell the end of English as an official EU language? An important question for many of us who are linguists.
A challenging and exceptional time interpreting during an exchange of ideas at this rather prestigious place... (no court was in session)
Observed in Amsterdam: cycling is just a normal mode of transport. Everyone does it, and nobody feels that they need to wear a helmet or some tight lycra outfit. And there is a lot of aggressive bell-ringing going on... loving it! π
Three days working in Berlin. Wish it had been longer ... much longer!
I only had a few short hours in wonderful Prague which was also my grandmother's hometown. Enough time though to at least enjoy the beautiful views from VyΕ‘ehrad.
Loving the animal themed wallpaper I am looking at during my interpreting assignment... π
When there is a great opportunity for a swim after your assignment but you forgot your swimsuit.... π‘πβ± (Malta)
Had a great view from our interpreting booth in Munich. Slightly intimidating amount of potential listeners though! :)
Lovely picture of our interpreting team yesterday in Madrid π
This weekend's interpreting assignment involves a lot of loud music, strobe light and disco balls...
During my first assignment in Stockholm I came across a lovely big park with several lakes, lots of waterfowl, rabbits... Best place to relax after work!
Very short work visit to Berlin where temperatures soared to 31 degrees! What a relief to return to our cool island... ;)
Back in Valencia - this time for work - 17 years after studying here. It is still such a fab place, totally loving it!
Always happy when clients choose beautiful locations for their meetings and finish early so the interpreters have time to explore... (near Palermo)
After working in beautiful Budapest for 4 days I could post hundreds of pictures. However, I was particularly touched by 'The Shoes on the Danube Bank', a memorial to the thousands of victims (many of them Jews) shot into the Danube in Budapest by fascist Arrow Cross militiamen in 1944β45.
After a recent interpreting assignment in Bratislava I had some time to explore the city. I like this very chilled city which even has a castle...
In Paris I worked with a new console. Was pleased to see that all labels were provided in Braille also thereby making it accessible for visually impaired interpreters (who know Braille)
Always nice when work takes you to places you have not been before and you have time to explore.... sunny Newcastle.
