Our Head Chef Sofia👩🏽‍🍳 and her team have been super busy behind the scenes getting ready to launch our NEW MENUS, which are now live! We’re so excited to share these with you!!😍 We have a lot of delicious new additions, including our famous homemade Lasagne, Spaghetti Bolognese, Artisan Handmade Pasta Parcels and 10oz Italian Beef Burger!🇮🇹

Wow what a fantastic meal at Dantes yesterday we had a table of 8 and the service was excellent nothing was too much trouble and the food was to die for....we will be back....very soon!!! Well done

We went here last night for my birthday meal, the food was tasty, the staff were friendly and very attentive and the place had a great atmosphere. It was a great night out, would recommend and we will definitely be back. Thank you for making my birthday very special.

Superb...heard good reports so went with my wife for her birthday meal!! Even though it was very busy, Service was excellent...attentive but not overbearing...special mention goes to Imogen who was very helpful...the food, the main reason for being there, was the best meal I have had out for a long time... my wife had risotto and I had the “Claudia” meal...lovely. Can’t recommend this place highly enough

My sister & I dined here last night as we both love Italian food!!! I've also been following Sofia's career and when I saw she was now your Head Chef we just had to try it out. The decor is fab, the atmosphere was lively for a busy Friday night, loved the staff and the denim aprons, but the food is superb! Sofia & the team do the family name proud. I imagine returning for years to come. X

Lovely food again, we both had fillet steak and my Mum had the chicken special. Dessert was Tiramisu, Profiteroles and my husband had tarte dell Nona. All the desserts were delicious and very much enjoyed. Yes it was noisy but everyone was having a good time. We will be back again for another meal soon

I took my date to this italian recommended by my sister and it was amazing. All of the food was lovely and the pasta has got to be the best ive had. I was driving but my date had 2 amazing cocktails (i did have a cheeky sip and it was good). The starters were good the staff were awesome and friendly and it was just a fantastic night out so just want to say thanks! I think i bought the menu hahaha!! Top night!

I just wanted to thank Dante’s for making my Dads birthday a special one. After recently losing my mum, this birthday was a difficult one made easier by the lovely evening your staff provided for us along with fantastic food. Thank you sincerely Georgie �

I booked Dante's for myself & 10 friends as my leaving do from work. It is the 3rd time I've eaten there with the other 2 occasions being for a lighter lunch.

We were all really impressed with the service and friendly relaxed atmosphere And above all the food was delicious.

Most of my friends had not been before & all have said it was delicious, with a lovely relaxed atmosphere and will definitely go again.

2 friends had sea food dishes that were recommended and I can recommend my favourite pasta Alfonso.

As we were a large party we were chatting & after we had all eaten it was noticeable that we did not feel rushed to leave despite being the last in the restaurant

Cannot recommend enough & thank you for making my leaving party so enjoyable & memorable

Have just visited Dante’s for an impromptu early evening meal with the children. As with previous visits the food was delicious and service great. Highly recommend the Tagliatelle Alfonso! Also the courtyard walking through from the Market Square looks so pretty & inviting in this cold weather.

Had a lovely lunch today, excellent food, great service and the outdoor area is very pretty in this weather!

Food was delicious & almost felt abroad whilst sipping wine in the courtyard with the sun shining. Would highly recommend X x

Dante’s is exactly what I would expect from a restaurant ..the greeting at the door is friendly and professional and we were seated quickly in a traditional one room dining area ,looking out onto a busy courtyard ( even in October)

The menu is very good it’s a stripped back simple menu with a good selection of starters,mains and desserts this is uncomplicated food precisely as it should be in this style of restaurant.

Proper Italian food of the highest quality served simply and well,the waiting staff are very pleasant and helpful led by a really lovely lady called Imogen this Saturday evening .

This is not just a local restaurant this is a destination restaurant that in all likelihood along with its sister restaurant and bar The Herbalist will change the dining and evening scene in Retford ,can’t wait to visit again or recommend highly enough .

Been meaning to come for dinner since it opened, I was really impressed with the food it was really fresh and tasty. The service was spot on to say all the staff apart from one were all new and on training. We sat outside in the court yard , the atmosphere was great it was like being abroad. Highly recommended!

Visited Dante’s this evening with my sister. Food was very good and staff very attentive, although on occasion I felt a little rushed, our starters were cleared just as I put my cutlery down. The only thing I object to is the 10% service charge. I generally tip in restaurants, however I like to choose the amount. Whilst I understand this is discretionary, when I asked the waitress to remove the charge from the bill, it didn’t go down too well. But overall a lovely meal in a great setting.

Lovely meal - staff had wonderful manners and were so polite. They are a credit to the restaurant. My pasta was some of the best I have ever tasted. Only slight improvements would be to remove the 10% service charge and allow diners to do this at their discretion (many people don’t feel comfortable asking for a service charge to be removed) and please make the portion sizes a teeny bit bigger for the pasta. I know mine was the lunch menu but I ended up pinching some of my daughter’s pizza in desperation (don’t judge me!) but all in all lovely food and atmosphere.

Went for the first time at the weekend. The food was great however we had a table booked for half 8 and didn't eat till 9.45. It took forever for our food to arrive and when we turned up at 8.30, although we could see our table was empty and needed preparing, we were sent to the Herbalist to buy a drink. Even after queueing and doing this, we came back 20 minutes later and our table still wasn't ready! It didn't look particularly busy either at this time. We were a little shocked at how long it took to wipe a table and lay cutlery (which was brought out to us when waiting for our meal anyway!). There was no apology for how long it took for the meal to arrive either. Although I enjoyed the company of my friends, on reflection for a first visit, I think the service was appalling. This may deter me from making future visits unless we book a much earlier time, to allow for such a wait.

Just been for tea this evening with my mum and dad. The restaurant was a bit loud, which wasn't a major issue. We ordered our food and when it arrived my plate was half empty. My mum got a big pizza and I got half a small bowl of the carbonara. I don't think it's very good value for money. The carbonara was amazing! But if of liked a bit more ( I feel that I got a child's portion). Pudding was great couldn't fault it. It was the portion sizes that let it down, I don't think the portions you get are worth the money you pay

I had crab linguine it was not very good

The food was floating in a bowl with way too much water and oil

Didn't taste of much

To add insult to injury we were over charged by £1 for a cocktail !

How ever the garlic bread was good , partners meal was better just a little dry he had meatballs

Won't go there again

Which is a shame as it looked so nice so very disappointed
