Please can we remind people that our Emergency Department is still extremely busy. Please use any of the alternatives we have listed unless you have a genuine emergency. This way our staff can care for those who really need them and you will not have such a long wait. Your assistance is very much appreciated.

The staff were very understanding of my complex health issues and disabilities, and when I was called in the waiting area and said as I was walking toward staff that I felt worse they managed to get other staff and a wheelchair as I collapsed. They were very empathic when tending to my needs, I would certainly recommend the department to others we were only there for about two and a half hours.

Had to bring my son up yesterday at 11ish, to the children's department and was out of there within an hour. The staff were lovely and really put my son at ease! The doctor (Mr B) was fantastic and made us all laugh and nothing was too much trouble. Massive thank you to all the staff who made it all such an easy and pain free experience

Extremely impressed with the Emergency Children’s Department in A&E at DVH. We were brought in by ambulance yesterday (a fantastic crew) after a call to 999. We were dealt with immediately upon arrival. The doctor and nurses in the department were amazing with my Type 1 Diabetic 2 year old son, who had become unresponsive after his blood glucose level dropped low. The staff did everything they could to make my son happy and comfortable while they did very thorough examinations and lots of blood tests to check on possible causes and effects of the time my son was unconscious (approximately 20 minutes). Our sons full blood test results were back in just over an hour, and we were allowed home after the test results were checked and explained very clearly. I was extremely impressed with the care, consideration and knowledge of everyone involved in my sons visit. Thank you.

Again what an outstanding experience at this hospital. I shattered my wrist a week ago but was advised by my pharmacist to go back because of the severe bruising I have. Was treated with such care, I was well remembered from last weekend cos got quite famous with the damage I had done, all the staff remembered me.

The doctors and nurses all deserve a massive pay rise, makes me wish I had followed my career and gone into nursing. Massive respect to Darenth Valley Hospital.

feel that a lot of people there should have properly gone to the doctors ,not A&E ,i don't know if this is down to not being able to get a doctors appointment . staff were lovely but so up against the flow of patients searching for beds ,and even a consulting room .We did have a long wait but when we saw the doctor he didn't rush us and was so kind fully examined my husband who was in agony with care .

Went yesterday with my daughter as had pain on right side and sickness . On obs they all showed normal and the triage nurse did suggest a walk in centre as 3 hour waiting . I did consider that but decided that the wait would possibly be as long and If she needs a scan I could be sent to a&e . I do agree when I looked about it seems some people perhaps could have gone to walk in centre and having families sitting eating and chatting as if a day out amazes me too . Seats are valuable so they should limit families unless urgent of course . We did see a doctor who was extremely thorough and asked for a urine sample to be taken and her results showed renal infection and would normally suggested a scan but sadly it wasn't working . I can't fault nhs I think They do the best job they can and thank you DVH

Visited A&E twice in one day yesterday. Got attacked by a deer and stabbed and later in the day i accidentally stabbed myself with a pruning knife. Both visits were plesant ones. The nurses were good and i didnt have long waiting times which was a nice suprise. I guess its luck tbh. All in all though i was pleased with the level of service and care. My nurse (Anna) was really nice too and patched me up on both visits!

I was this hospital yesterday with serious lower stomach pains. The nurses and doctors were all very helpful. Although I had a long wait we don't understand how much extreme pressure they are under and the emergencies they have to attend. In my opinion we don't appreciate what these people do. I'd like to thank everyone that helped me it was much appreciated

Went with my husband who had had a very bad fall and had an extremely bruised back. As visitors from Scotland could only find his old English records and apparently the search does not include Scottish surgeries so couldn't get his complex records up! He was also seen in a hospital in england about 10 years ago and his scottish records have not been kept on file which is very frustrating! However he was seen pretty promptly and we were in and out in an hour.

I would rate the care and thorough examination and treatment of my son (when seen) as 5* but the wait (which is understandable given the ratio of staff to patients) was abismal. We were there from 2.30pm till 8.30-9pm. In that time he did have various tests and an x-ray but very long waits in between each one. The outcome was "inconclusive".

I went to a and e Tuesday morning as muscle problem in my back. I had the ambulance out to me on Monday. Well tues when I got called in by nurse I found I couldn't get out of the chair so I called her over and she just stood there telling me to push myself up I was in so much pain and crying with it. This young nurse was so abrupt and all the reception staff were just looking at her. She wasn't nice at all. Even nasty to a deaf and dumb lady who went in after me. The doctor that I saw after this was so niçe and helpful. This nurse also turned round and said well you aren't getting an x Ray today. She shouldn't be in this sort of job. Or be taught properly how to talk and manage patients.

waitted 4 hrs with my daughter who was in pain with her finger even when touched by doctor only to be told to go home and if same two days later to go back . was not happy at all the department was full and no air con or anythink to help keep the children who were very hot to cool down / the room just is not big enough for the amount of children that go there .

Wankers. Need to be shut down a man had a stroke in A&E department and the staff just stood around like nothing they need to actually be struck off what if it was there family and they found out that happened to them at the hospital. How can they get a job and not care isn’t hospital job for caring for others. Get that receptionist stuck off Id name and shame her but ain’t that deep.

Dirty place and after 6 hours I’m still waiting to see a doctor ! I’m only here as I was discharged 2 days after major surgery !!
