Good morning all!

Exciting changes, we will be making some much needed repairs to our indoor pool area. An email with full details will be winging it's way to Raynes Park members this afternoon.

We wanted to wish Tonja huge congratulations on being voted Raynes Park's coaching hero! Nominated by her client, Julie had these lovely words to share.. 'Tonja has been training our family one by one for nine or ten years and has helped every one of us through good times and difficult times. We first met Tonja when my oldest daughter fractured her spine on a trampoline. Tonja trained her back to health by strengthening her core and improving her bone density. Tonja then tra...ined me and helped me lose weight and become stronger and fitter than I ever had been. She then trained my youngest daughter who was totally idle but Tonja amazingly managed to motivate her and get her fit and going to the gym is now part of her lifestyle. Tonja then trained my husband and improved his fitness and helped him lose weight and now she is currently training me again after surgery for cancer. Tonja always manages to get the best out of us so we get the best results despite our very different needs and injuries. Tonja has single-handedly saved and fixed my whole family through her extensive knowledge, her wonderful motivation and her supportive friendly manner. She is always there to help and and her advice is invaluable. I am eternally grateful to her and she will always be our whole family's coaching hero'. Huge thanks to Julie for sharing her story.

Very nice club, with excellent sports facilities. Particularly good for year round tennis as there are 16 indoor courts. 7 outdoor courts plus indoor in Summer. Recently refurbished so the gym and fitness rooms are good. Best bit is the second swimming pool - outdoor but heated so you can swim outside even in the snow!

Membership fees are pretty high so like all of these clubs you need to use them to get value for money. If you do this is an excellent club.

User

The five stars are for another fantastic personal training session with Rajif. I can feel myself getting fitter even if there is a long way to go. The staff at reception were polite and the ladies changing rooms upstairs were a little cleaner as well.

User

So far so good ! We had few cancellations like tennis for our son and gym start up for our daughter . Very annoying but the rest is all good . We love the outside pool . Personal trainer Ben gave me and my husband great program and was extremely helpful .I am really enjoying the classes they have to offer. My favourites are Zumba with Kevin and Pilates , also core stability And legs, bums and tums

User

Really loving the staff at holiday active and the crèche. They are being really patient with my 10 month old daughter Roxie

User

Lovely breakfast! Was a bit concerned about the amount of jam pots the pt pinched out of the kitchen! But otherwise nice

User

I have been a member for a few years but I had my daughters baby shower at the Raynes Park gym and it was awesome! Dan the co-ordinator that looked after us was absolutely brilliant and really made the day. Can't thank him enough x

User

Excellent club! It's my happy place!

User

Compare to any other club around is this definitely the best choice.

Very friendly staff and high level of hygiene is the answer why I am and will be a member!

Thank you guys! :)

User

Best David Lloyd in within the M25 area.

And I be been to almost all of them.

better than even the Harbour Clubs which are supposed to be more upmarket than David Lloyd.

love coming here even from a distance.

User

Reasonable price at £5 a game. Definitely worth getting a good group together to make things cheaper. Otherwise it's quite expensive if there's only two of you. A vast improvement since I used to go when I was younger. The whole place has been revamped. I like the new bowling program where it shows your scores. Although the animations are quite retro.

User

I have been a member for a couple of years here. Yes its a bit pricey but im worth it:). Feels like im treating myself when i go there. But i do find the staff lack knowledge of what is going on with their own classes and theres never anyone to speak to on the gym floor, they are all personal trainers looking to sell you private sessions. I would like to know if an evening aerbics class will restart again soon, but no one answers the phone and reception staff when i go in want to help but dont know the answers.

User

Went to get a drink yesterday and the bar was deserted. A young guy said he would get someone to serve us. He came back and said she's on her way. She never came! We waited about 10 mins and I asked the guy on reception who couldn't find anybody either. He ended up serving us and two other customers and we had to help him as he was only normally on reception. Also soda was coming out off the pump instead of lemonade. It was shocking customer service but George on reception was a HERO

User

I ripped my swim wear on the broken jacuzzi bed, and when trying to pull myself off I put my left foot onto the bed to unhook my swimwear, feeling free I took my foot off the bed catching my big toe and ripping the nail completely off. I stayed in jacuzzi for about 20 minutes putting pressure on the toe, I managed to get to the changing rooms dried and dressed myself having no more bleeding from my toe, I made my way to reception and fount the first aid kit full of empty wrappers and no accident book to write what had happened. I spoke to the lady at the desk and we managed to get a small dressing for my toe... great experience had.....

User

I've been a member of the club for 3 months now, since day one I have reported a problem with the Jacuzzi and swimming pool water. My eyes are irritated as soon as I get in and the coughing is unbearable when I try to swim. I've joined other clubs before and I was fine, so I'm not the problem.

Also there seems to be a general lack of maintenance, air conditioning in the cycling room, poor cleaning standards at the cafe and changing rooms, the virtual cycling videos are not working very often... However to increase the membership price this January it was very straightforward.

I'm very disappointed, you sold the Club to me as an exclusive, but it is far from that.

A very unhappy customer.

User

I have been a member at David Lloyd Raynes Park for nearly 4 years now, mainly using the tennis facilities, and the courts availability has become worse year on year. It has come to the point now where it is impossible to book a court between 17:30 and 20:30 on week days. When I go to the gym around this time, courts are all taken for individual and group coaching, that are pre-booked for them.

So unless you have tonnes of money to spend on coaching, you won't get much tennis played as a member, at least at reasonable times.

I complained about it many times and the manager ended up concluding that it might not be the right club for me...

Reading the other (mostly bad) reviews on this page, I'm not surprised this is happening and the management at DL Raynes Park clearly seems to be revenue driven rather than customer satisfaction driven. Such a shame...

Hi came in this morning c6.15 for a 6.30 body pump class. Found a locker, at last, in the downstairs men’s locker room. Did class and some warm downs after and came back to the locker room at about 7.45.

My locker, number 47 or 49, was open. Nothing had been taken as I always take my phone, wallet and car keys into the gym with me.

Called reception who sent down Florin.

Told him the problem and that it was the fourth or fifth time that I had reported a problem, with the lockers as I had found them open when I had come back into the room.

He told me that the lockers have been reprogrammed to open after a certain time has lapsed.

When did this become policy and when we were told as members?

Also I would like confirmation that the previous occasion when I reported faulty locker was reported to management.

I know you have messages that you will not be held responsible for thefts but when you are aware of the issue with the lockers and that you unilaterally impose a time out then you are very exposed.

I would be grateful for your earliest response.

Have been a member for years and take my kids to DL kids. Am increasingly disappointed at the lack of understanding by the catering management team about what kids need. A chef that seems to turn up as and when he chooses, and not allowing food orders til well past 12 noon means a very erratic service and kids starving as food arrives closer to 1. We have asked, complained, been promised more child friendly services, to no avail. DL kids seems to run separately from the main gym but with the same catering management. Yet the communication between the two entities is very much lacking. The staff at DL kids are lovely and have to deal with grumpy parents as a result of the lack of care from central management.

Setting up a facility for kids requires people who understand kids to run it. Starting with the parents needs. Happy parents mean happy kids and experience. So have some food for parents here too please! Pizza and Caesar salad as the only options for food is not good enough. We are still members of th whole of DL so would like a better service here. Otherwise we will all end up upstairs where the kids will run riot and affect the experience for those without kids (perhaps then the centre would take appropriate action).

Hope catering management sort this out soon!

Racist treatment by management, DL are overrated and over priced. They are profit driven and do not care about there customers
