We had our tennis Xmas lunch last Monday 4th Dec. Hailey, the F& B manager and everyone in her team were all very helpful and efficient from the very beginning. Special thanks to Stacy and Daniel?, who made sure that everyone got their orders at the same time which couldn't have been easy what with 23 people all talking at the same time. Thanks for making the experience a really enjoyable one!!!

I've been a member for over 13 years and have almost always been happy with the service I receive at the club. The reception staff always have a smile to greet you, The staff at the kids club are amazing I always feel my children are in good hands especially when Ellie and Katie are there. Food can be hit or miss sometimes but I would still recommend the club as there are definitely more highs then lows.

I'd like to say a great big thank you to all the staff at David Lloyd Basildon today. From the warm welcome of the reception staff, attentiveness of the bar staff and delicious food prepared by the chef. You accommodated myself and my large family who had travelled from Dublin, Leeds and Liverpool for an engagement meal. Setting out the tables beautifully for us. And really making it an afternoon to remember from start to finish. Thank you all again xxx

I would like to share my experience this morning. I came out of the pool and my locker wouldnt open. I put the right combination in, but nothing. A very kind lady asked if I was OK and could she help. She tried to open it, but couldnt. She said 'dont worry, Ill get someone to cut your padlock for you.' While I was waiting she kept asking if I was OK. When it was cut off, she said 'dont worry, Ill get reception to sort you out a new padlock. Just mention my name, Abbe the receptionist'. Well how kind and thoughtful she was. Thank you Abbe !!!

I have joined few months ago and have nothing bad to say about this place. I just came from my first class and loved it! The gym is amazing and there is support anytime I need to ask something. Pool,steam room jacuzzi and sauna is my absolute favourite after good workout. The place is clean and not very busy. Staff are friendly and always happy to help.

I have been a member of David Lloyd on and off over the last 6 years, I keep coming back as the clubs offer a superb range of facilities which you cannot get at other health clubs. Not the cheapest, but if you use all the facilities, then you get what you pay for in my opinion.

I always look forward to heading to the club, the staff are friendly and helpful and the facilities enable me to do what I want for hard or light training, or just to relax! I have been a member for 14 years and it is something we all enjoy as a family. From the crèche to DL Kids into Allstars tennis and now into the gym it has helped us grow together.

Annual Ladies Christmas Fancy Dress Tennis



Twenty four of us had a great time playing tennis in Fancy Dress followed by Festive Christmas Lunch at DLBas.

Firstly, thanks to the tennis coaches Jaime, Simon and Zak for your assistance. Secondly, thanks to the team Billy Jo, Dan and Dean for the great service you provided on the day. Lastly, special mention must go to Hayley for going that extra mile into making sure that we all enjoyed ourselves. From start to finish Hayley’s invaluable assistance was very much appreciated.

Fancy dress tennis, festive lunch, random prizes, secret Santa ūüéÖ.... a wonderful time was had by all!

Enjoying the outdoor pool, as me and the boys have done all summer! Thank you, has help me out so much as am not well enough to keep boys entertained all the time so playing in the pool while I watch from the side line is perfect! ÔŅĹ‚ėÄÔłŹ

David Lloyd is a great place to go, it's not only a fantastic place with everything you need from the gym to classes to getting fit and healthy but also a place to relax and take time out by using the spa facilities. Socially as well

We use the club, we go there just to meet up with friends and have a meal, they also put on special entertainment event evening for adults and the children. I have made many friends and my children they have practically grown up there. The play area is great for the little ones and the kids clubs are excellent especially when I want to do a exercise class. My kids/myself love the outdoor pool during the summer we spend all day there. The staff are highly experience and so motivated. There are many different types of classes there is something for everyone. Very clean and the changing rooms are fully equipped with everything you need.

Staff are very friendly, courts are excellent, took part in my first class yesterday and paying for it today, had loads of fun though.



My only gripe was my hands were black after using the weights, a good clean of the equipment is needed.

Recently just joined again after being away from the club for two years and good to be getting back into my squash. Refurb looks great and was badly needed. A couple of suggestions...We pay extra to be a Platinum members and have the privilege of getting a towel. Have seen people walking in and asking for a towel and not being asked for proof of membership status, may seem a bit petty but only fair. We also now have a grandson who is a member and can never get in a parent/child spot. Maybe some sort of permit could be issued and displayed with regular checks on these bays. Cant understand why these young and super fit gym goers need to park so close to the door...maybe can't handle the extra exercise. But overall we're happy to be back.

Whenever I use the swimming pool or juccuzi, I find that my eyes are irritated very quickly. I have never had this issue anywhere else but get it everytime I use the pool here. Pretty sure the levels of chlorine are always excessive. Other then this issue, I cannot fault the club.

I took my son to this David Lloyd yesterday and was very disappointed.. our friend gave us day passes but if I had of paid the £25 day pass I would have been mortified.. the pool had bits floating in it and we got there at 11 so not too late.. but the worst was the restaurant food .. I had fish which was dry and hard and the kale was like plastic !! When talking to the staff they agreed the food was terrible which is why they don't eat there either...Really? ?

this place is a joke been trying to suspend my daughters gym membership due to an injury 5 WEEKS ive been ringing and get told someone will contact you all a load of rubbish they dont bother ringing you back but take the money and will now be cancelling the membership would never recomend

You have a very poor service contracts. You have spoiled our gym experience two weeks running the first was Saturday 1st October,when my wife had to cut short he mile swim because of the extreme coldness of the water. We did not come this weekend because the fault has not been rectified. My comment on your service contracts all so encompasses the wattbikes they were out of order for some week's with the notice stuck to the screen giving members a mending date,only on the next visit another notice appears with an amended date.l feel very let down by your inaction to rectify faults. Lastly the the feed back on how you did was not working. However the staff are very good,but we were promised a phone call that never happened.

Not sure if this is true and happy for DL Basildon to give their point of view but heard you are getting rid of the car wash service? If that's correct, that's without any consultation with your customers! We've had this top quality service (independent from DL) for many years which we have all been happy to pay for. And if this is true, there is significant resistance to this on Facebook - if you happened to search social media! Would welcome your view and reasoning if applicable. I trust that if if we don't hear from you, this is true. Many thanks

David Lloyd Basildon is extremely overpriced for the service that you receive, before you are a member the club seems to be welcoming and customer focused however this is not the case once they have you as a member. I will not go into detail about my experience but i can say that the member relations team are extremely unprofessional if you have a concern or problem do not expect a call back or any communication or attentiveness. Since leaving I have joined Club Kingswood and could not be more impressed with their service at less than half the cost.
